Hi bloggers! Ever think about using a stencil to create the background for your Christmas cards? It is very effective, quick and easy to do too! What do you think?
The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size. All for now. Sue x

Beautiful card Sue xx Hazel
Wonderful and very special card to both make and receive. x
Hi Sue. Never used a stencil, I've used the off cut of a die to make another card - like the fall out of a bauble, used the decorated bauble on one card and raised the piece of card with the hole in etc, I've just woken up so I don't think I'm making much sence yet. One technique I am grateful I learnt from you is the CAS design, as I'm in such a panic with my cards it's been so useful to know that less is more, so I've managed to get a good amount done ready for tomorrow then I need to concentrate on the order, so thank you Sue and I look forward to watching your tutorial when my brain feels capable of understanding it lol. Enjoy your Saturday xxx

Hi Sue. Yes, I have used stencils to create a background for Christmas cards. I did it with Luna paste but it is quite hard to find a good stencil for doing it as the results either get lost behind the main image or overpower it. To my eyes you have got the combination just right with this example, helped by the fact that I really love the dies you have used too.

Gorgeous card this rainy morning. I have the Haley die and I must say that she is my favorite go to die of this year's Christmas card making. I just love her and I even made a friend's birthday card with her using Pink Flamingo Opal Polish and Alice in the background and no one even noticed that Haley was Christmas. She is a very versatile gal.

Beautiful post, again love the mix of textures - wonderful dies which goes without saying ....
Hello Sue
I am later than normal today but I wanted to watch your video before commenting. This has to be one of my all time favourites,a definite standout, stunning creation.
Gorgeous card design. Loving it. The gilding polish leaves such a luxurious sheen on the vellum poinsettia petals. Your stenciled background is perfect for this design. Great idea to nip your Hayley die in the center and use the pieces to extend your focal element. Super video, thank you for sharing.
Lovely card

Hi Sue, a beautiful card. The stencilled background enhances the extended Hayley die and I love gilding polish on vellum poinsettias. Thanks for the video, excellent as always.

Hello Sue and all
Love the basket weave stencil used for Christmas cards, would not have thought of that and am now madly checking stencils to see what other “non Christmas” stencils could be used in the same way. Hayley is beautiful here, love how you have backed it with the half pieces too. Another gorgeous bit of Christmas inspiration - thank you
Hugs
