Season's Greetings

Hello all!  Not your usual Christmas colours, but I really like this one! I started by cutting the Pretty Poinsettia Frame out of coconut white card.  I lined it up right next to the original cut and cut it a second time.  I used my scissors to nip away the centre area, creating a larger frame.  I glued it to a piece of Old Rose card.  Next I used the Antique Rose Glitter Kiss and coated a piece of card with it and allowed it to dry.  I cut the frame out of it twice and saved the flower fall away pieces.  I paper pieced them back into the frame using glue to secure them in place.  I cut the Season's Greetings sentiment out of a section of it too, then added the words to the shadow cut in white.  I offset the words in the centre of the frame.  I made a multi-layered frame using the Double Stitched Rectangles with a wider white frame on the bottom and a thin Old Rose frame added on top.  The card was completed with white and old rose mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  5. Hi Sue it may not be a traditional festive card but is it? I have a festive birthday and I'd be thrilled to receive a beauty like this, as far as the colour goes my mind can see this in Aqua with lots and lots of frosty glitter lighting up the room, apart from the religious kind is there a traditional card anymore?
    I love it xxx

  9. Hello Sue and all
Beautifully different Christmas card, really stands out. I love the poinsettia frame but haven’t managed to use it yet, another couple of weeks and hopefully I can make SW Christmas cards to my hearts content. The glitter kiss is a fabulous medium to use and although I really like this colour way, like Steph, I can see it in aquas too, the all a time favourite

What a beautiful Christmas card this morning and I think the colours are very pretty and work so well. The pretty poinsettia frame looks stunning die cut in white and the box frame over the top finishes the design perfectly.

  35. Hello Sue. I think when you make a Christmas card in non-traditional colours it gives such a contemporary feel which is helped by the Poinsettia Frame die (incidentally this is one of my favourites!)

  37. Your Rose card Poinsettia frame design is beautiful. Personally I love the rose color. Your rose color reminds me of my favorite Christmas trees that I decorated in past years. I decorated my trees with Victorian ornaments in rose, cream, burgundy and gold.

  43. Hi Sue, a lovely card and I do like the contemporary feel to it. I love the colour of the old rose card and your frame dies that can be extended so cleverly. As others before me I think it would look great in other colours for any birthday throughout the year.

  46. Hello Sue,

Not a traditional design or colors but certainly is a lovely card. By changing the sentiment, you could used this for almost any occasion as the flowers could be daisies and not poinsettia. Like the larger size.

    Have a great day.
