Let It Snow

Hello crafters!  It's Friday and time for a non Christmas, Christmas card I think!  I just love aqua cards at Christmas as they feel so frosty, perfect for a Let It Snow sentiment!  I started with a piece of aqua card and taped the Large Polka Dot Mask over it.  I used Stellar Jade Luna Paste through the mask, then set it aside to dry.  Next I made a multi-layered frame for it using a white base and a thinner aqua card top frame.  I added it with foam over the dry background.  Next I cut the Marilynne die out of white card and backed it with vellum.  I cut the smaller Anita die out of aqua card and layered it up.  I cut the centre of the Anita die in white and backed it in white and added it with foam in the centre.  I used the Let It Snow shadowed sentiment cut in Ocean card and glued to a white shadow backing then added to the centre of the card.  The card was completed with white and aqua mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  7. Hi Sue. It's unusual for Aqua to pick up so dark so at for st looks I thought it was a new Green. I really should consider some Luna paste when I can afford some it looks amazing. I think the majority of your festive dies looked non festive which is what makes them so useable and versatile and I can't wait to see you work with them again maybe with the new presenter - all change again. Hope whatever your plans for the day you're safe, happy and healthy xxx

  27. Very frosty looking! A lovely card and especially useful to send to those that don’t celebrate Christmas in the “traditional” way

  28. Hi Sue, although I am basically a traditionalist I too love to use aqua on some Christmas cards as it does give that frosty feel especially when glittered and the Stellar Jade Luna Paste shows that perfectly here. Lovely card.

  32. Hi Sue,
Love a bit of bling on my Christmas cards and your background hits the target. I do like aqua but never thought of it as a colour for Christmas, but you lead us by the nose to get us to think outside the box. So I am going to use aqua for my poinsettias this year. Lovely card by the way. Hugs xx Pauline

  36. Hi Sue. I have to agree with you that aqua and white do make great contemporary Christmas cards, however, in some of the pictures the white has come across as almost cream which I think gives a really vintage feel to the card too.

  39. Hello Sue,

Aqua is one of my favorite colors as well, it gives such a clean and crisp look. I really like your combination of dies and sitting atop a mask with luna paste really shows them off.

    Have a wonderful weekend.
