For You

Hi crafters!  It has been ages since I shared any samples with gilding flakes so I have brought out my Verdigris Gilding Flakes for today's sample!  I started by using the Verdegris flakes all over a piece of coconut white card coated with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I applied the gilding flakes and uses a piece of Rubit Scrubit to move and refine the gilding flakes.  Next I used the Double Stitched Rectangles die set to cut two frames and the centre section.  I glued a piece of acetate to the largest frame then added mounting foam to the back to raise the three pieces.  I embossed a piece of white card with the Ribbon Swirls folder and added the frames to it.    I used the For You shadowed sentiment cut in black and added to a white shadow and glued it into the centre of the card.  I used the Striped Nasturtiums and made two flowers using just the top outline die for the flowers.  I cut several of the Lace Edged Leaves and added them as accents.  The card was completed with white and black mats ans layers.  The finished dimensions are  6 1/2" x  7 3/4" in size.

To answer the question I asked of you, I have run into quite a few famous people in my travels including Paul McCartney, Ashton Kutcher, Paul Daniels, Duffy (the Welsh singer), Roger Daltry (from the Who), Fergie (from the Black Eye Peas), Chuck Connors (American actor from the Rifleman series)and Usain Bolt (fastest human alive).  All of them were lovely and welcoming!  I do have some good stories about the first three on the list, but it would take pages here to tell!  I will keep them for another time! LOL   All for now Sue x

  6. Hi Sue. So many people to be admired that wow us with their skills and acheivements and you've met quite a few, when we see them being interviewed I often wonder if they are that nice in 'real life' without having a mic in front of them but after reading so many ore inspiring comments yesterday that told me that the majority are as lovely and genuine as they seem (although I've been told I'm too trustworthy and gullible) lol the story that had me almost in tears was reading CraftyCoffee's amazing life changing story I was transfixed and read it loud to you know who. I have only one person in my bucket - not left, just the one so I have to remain positive.

I can't put into words how gorgeous this sample is, you've taken us way way back to the Sue samples we love so much with the guilding flakes and various frames, it's a true beauty. Whatever your plans for today I hope you really enjoy yourself xxx

    Good Monday morning Sue.
What a delightful card you have showcased today,so clean and crisp.
I remember buying Gilding Flakes when I first began my journey into card making which is about 3 years ago. I don't think I have ever used them so NOW should be the right time to start.
Thank you Sue for your daily inspiration.
    Hugs.

Lovely to see the gilding flakes back, once more. I do still use mine for certain family members who don't like glitter on their cards.
How different the nasturtium flowers look when you only use the top piece of the die.
After reading your long list of famous people whom you've met, I think that we should all curtsey to you next time we see you (on tv)lol Well, you are the Queen of craft. Hugs xx Pauline

  58. Hi Sue. WOW !!! I love your card today. I used my gilding flakes just last week but I have to admit it was the first time in quite a while. I love the look of the Verdigris gilding flakes. I don't have that particular one and it is lovely. I do love your idea of using rectangles or other nesting dies covered with the gilding flakes to make a card. That is such a fab idea Sue and one I have never thought of doing before. I cannot remember seeing the Ribbon Swirls EF before. I think I may have to go and look that one up. As always Sue your flowers are beautiful, and your leaves to. I am often using your Lacey leaves dies as I think they are so pretty. Thank you for sharing your beautiful card today.
I have to say I really love yesterday's card to. Beautiful colours that you used. I love it all. Lots of love to you Sue love Tres x x x

As I'm working in our kitchen it is a bit tricky with these things
