Merry & Bright

Hello crafters!  I thought it was about time to start sharing a few Christmas cards with you!  I started with a piece of Ruby Red card and used the Stained Glass mask.  I used Apple Red Luna Paste through it and set it aside to dry.  The Luna Paste is a chunky sort of mica but it gives a really reflective background.  I cut it into three sections and added mounting and put them on a piece of white card.  Next I cut the Marilynne die in white and added a vellum backing to it.  I glued it to the background (behind the white card areas).  I cut the Merry & Bright out of red and added a black drop shadow, then added the die shadow in white and put it in the centre of the Marilynne die with foam mounting.  I cut two vellum poinsettias using the outer die from the Triple Layer Poinsettia set and added them in the corner.  I used the Evergreen Branch cut out of white as an accent.  The card was completed with white and red mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Hi Sue. It's not until you show us the closest up photo can you actually see the pattern within the background so it's a double whammy - the gorgeous sparkle the Luna Paste gives then the gentle look of the stained glass showing beneath. What more can you ask for - a full collection of designer festive cards to see you through the season. Have a lovely day whatever your plans xxx

You can never have too much sparkle is what I say. thank you Sue xx

  9. Hi Sue
Oh wow - what a ‘stunner’! Everything about this card screams perfection.
Christmas in July??!! I will have you know that you are one of the only people who can get away with mentioning the C word this early in the year! In my world November is the time when the subject is up for discussion. Lol x
The skies are grey and the temperature has dropped. Thank goodness. I am even excited at the prospect of a rain filled day.
    Happy Friday everyone x

Such a stunning card this morning and at first glance I thought it was glitter card until I see that you have created the background with a mask and Luna paste. By creating the three panels give the whole design depth . Its always a pleasure to see your Christmas cards and your ideas.

It's never too early for Christmas cards in my opinion. This one is striking and very pretty.
I'm hoping to be able to get back into my craft cabin now the horrible hot weather has cooled down, so I'm looking forward to creating some Christmas cards myself. Thank you for the inspiration. X

    Good morning Sue.
A beautiful, cheerful card this morning and really makes me wish I had started making cards years ago. I thought I had a bit of everything in my craft room but I don't have Luna paste and I've only recently bought my first masks. I will have to leave this beauty to the experts.
I hope you are well and happy.
