Belated Birthday Wishes

Hi bloggers!  I started this card with a piece of milk card and I used the Vivian cutting die with the decorative outer die to cut an aperture in the middle.  Next I used the Elemental Swirl stamp and stamped it in opposite corners with a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I used detail gold embossing powder on it and heated it until it melted.  I added an Arctic Blue backing to the aperture and added the Belated Birthday Wishes cut out of Antique Gold card.  I cut the Hummingbird triple layer die out of Antique Gold on the top, Arctic Blue for the middle layer and finished with a milk bottom layer and mounted it to the right side of the aperture opening.  I used the Triple Layer Wildflower in all three sizes and reversed the order using the Arctic blue on top, the Antique gold as the middle layer and the milk as the base.  I added milk card leaves as accents and mounted the flower under the aperture.  The card was completed with milk, Arctic Blue and Antique Gold mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  4. There are many card and gift boutiques up and down the U.K. that sell the most unique of cards, just tiny cards sometimes and they cost the earth, but I can honestly say with hand on heart that within these boutiques and on the most expensive websites that sell cards you wouldn't get on the high street or anywhere that this sample goes way and beyond in every detail Sue. From the stunning corner golden swirl to the sentiment and everything in between it just says expensive and one of a kind. It's so beautiful it needs to be mounted in a glass box frame for all to see, this isn't a card, it's a gift. Have a lovely day in the 'slow lane' lol xxx

  30. Another lovely card and I love how the latest days enable us to make beautiful apertures.

Can any of you Wilsonettes (thanks June Smith for that very apt label!) give me some tips on heat embossing as my card always ends up slightly bent no matter what I do. I love embossing powders and would use them a lot more if I could solve this little problem. #ILoveParticraft.

  36. A very pretty die. I like the use of a stamp rather than a die cut to make the swirl, it makes the card very elegant indeed.

  37. Hi Sue

I love this card. The colours work so well together and I like the hummingbird hovering over sentiment, which in turn fits beautifully in the aperture made by the Vivian die. The elemental swirl stamp works perfectly too. Think I may have to invest in that one. I think I’ve said that before, but there’s always more of your dies that I buy instead!

  44. Hi Sue. What a really lovely clean and simple card. I wouldn't normally use gold with blue but actually I think they work really nicely together and I love those swirls. If they come from the stamp plate that I think they do they are a great staple for anyone's crafty tool box.
