You Are Sew Sweet

Hi crafters!  It's time for a sewing themed card!  I started this one by selecting some decorative papers from my stash.  I used a black and white print for the background and added a pop of colour with a deep peach decorative piece as a strip border on the side of the card.  I cut the Avery die out of the same decorative paper and added a black backing using the larger decorative die.  I cut the centre die from another piece of coordinating paper and added a thin black mat to it.  I cut the You're Sew Sweet sentiment from the  Sew Sweet Frame in black and added it to the centre of the die.  I cut the Sew Sweet frame out of milk card, black card and the same decorative paper as the centre die cut.  I cut away the dressmakers dummy out of all three pieces.  I used the milk card as the base, then added the "fabric wrap" out of the decorative paper, then added the black as a thin shadow.  I added it to the side of the die cut on the card as an accent.  I also cut out two thread spools out of milk card and wrapped them with Bakers Twine, then glued them into the upper corner.  Three black pearls were added to the lower corner as embellishments.  Milk and black mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6"  x 7 1/2" in size.

There are still five or six unclaimed winning dies from the die release.  Please take a few minutes to scroll down to the post on the 8th to see if your name is on the list!   All for now. Sue x

  5. Oh wow Sue, fashion designer too, I love the idea of draping the fabric round the dressmakers dummy, I wonder how many crafters that have this collection have thought about doing that, it's really clever, the whole sample has that vintage feel with the change of colours and patterns, a card that any dressmaker would adore. Hope you're feeling better today xxx

    Good morning Sue.
A lovely card Sue that is quite a different mix of colours from your usual ones.
Everything you do must be well thought out and you must KNOW that it's going to work. I personally don't have that gift but I trust you implicitly and when in doubt I go to your Facebook or U-tube for inspiration.
    All for now.
