Best Wishes

Hi bloggers!  Out came the pixie powders for this one! I started by creating some full sized sheets of pixie powders and allowing them to dry overnight.  I used the Plum Twist and Candy Pink on the first one, the Purple Violet and Lava Red on the second one and Straw Yellow and Sun Yellow on the third one and the last one was done in greens, olive and emerald green. Next I cut each of the three flower squares out of black card.  I cut the backing in white with a self adhesive sticky sheet added to it.  Next I cut each of the three flower squares out of one of the pieces of pixie powder backgrounds.  I used the coloured pieces to paper piece each of the flowers into the black outline with the sticky backing.  Then I cut all three again, but this time out of the green pixied sheet so I was able to paper piece the leaves back into each of the dies.  The process wasn't quite complete, I had to do the backgrounds for each so I cut them all out of white card and paper pieced the remaining areas.  I added all three, the iris, the rose and the daffodil Flower Squares onto another piece of coconut white card and added a black mat.  I added that to a larger piece of white card with room for the best Wishes sentiment on the bottom.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  11 1/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Spring is in the air with this lovely sample. I feel awful that I've not used my gift yet from the previous launch. Every time I plan to use my rose something crops up so it's out to one side, I even made some Pixie sheets specifically to use with my die, providing I have no more ridiculous requests for birthday cards today (unlikely ) then this pretty rose die will be put to work so thanks to your post today I shall re-read your method and hope I can do my gift justice along with my Mini Shadow Expressions I received yesterday. I will eventually collect all this collection as they look so beautiful used as a CAS card and really helpful for many happy or sad occasions. Enjoy your day whatever your plans xxx

  44. Hi Sue
Beautiful card, I love your flower squares and I used the tulip one with crystal tints to make my husband’s valentine card. I think paper piecing with the pixied card is much easier so I will have to create lots more pixie powder backings

    Love and hugs to everyone

  54. Awesome paper pieced stain glass floral design using pixie powdered handmade background paper. I give you A+++ for your patience in your piecing the three flowers each out of their separate pixie powdered card. I love pixie powder and enjoy making pixie powdered backgrounds. I am not good at piecing tiny bits of paper back into their respective areas. It never fails that while I am die cutting something that I want the fall out pieces for piecing back into a design, those tiny pieces have wings. Those tiny bits and pieces have secret hiding places in my craft room and go there to never be found again. I shake my head when looking for those bits. I can not understand how such small pieces of paper can land beyond a six foot square area of where I work. I invariably have to die cut two or more of the same design to get the needed piecing bits.

  58. Hi Sue. WOW !!! This is a gorgeous card !!! I really love this one. I have all three of these flower squares and they are fab !!! I will definitely be collecting the three new flower squares you have just designed to. I think they are all beautiful Sue. I looked up what colours the different flowers come in and was really pleased that I have plenty of choices of colours for all the flower dies you have bought us. The only restricted one is the daffodil, the rest can be almost any colour !!! As you know Sue I do love my paper piecing and I will definitely be making lots of pixie powdered backgrounds to use in my square flower dies. I love your typtritch design. I think three flowers in a row is very nice on a card. Highlighting the squares with black card really makes them "pop" to. Your lovely swirly font sentiment die is the perfect finishing touch to your card. Absolutely beautiful. Lots of love to you Sue from Tres X X X

Ps : My Jocelyn winning die arrived today and it is beautiful !!! There are so many cards I want to make and I just don't know where to start. Thank you so much Sue. X X X
