Good Sunday morning all! Today's card has a very autumnal feel to it as it has been done in brown and rust tones. I started with a piece of chestnut brown card and used the Rope Chain embossing folder to add texture to the background. Next I stamped the Stamp To Die For called Abigail's Autumn Berries in black and cut it out with the matching Abigail die. I used Distress markers to colour in the design, mostly vintage photo, forest green, barn door and rusty hinge. I cut two more of the Abigail die in white and mounted them on my background in a diamond orientation, then added the stamped image in the middle of them with foam. I cut the Get Well Soon die and nipped the words apart and only used the Get Well sections set diagonally. I stamped the STDF once more and hand cut around the leaves and berries, coloured them and added them on top of the original stamped image with foam for a bit more boldness. I completed the card with white and brown mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. I can't stop looking at the detail in Abigail's Autumn Berries stamp its beautiful, the main background to the stamp almost looks like hessian and the foliage and berries open up to any season with the change of colour, I dabble in gardening as I do card making and admit to not being brilliant at both so I presume some plants feed the birds with their fruit all year round ? But I do see a beautiful sample in front of me, I love how you design the patterns within the die, those pretty delicate swirls and quirly Q's within Abigail are so sweet and they are equally as gorgeous in your new collections. This would certainly put a smile on anyone's face and raise their spirits if they felt unwell. Hope your Sunday is a good one xxx

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI had to smile when I saw your card today as I have done a card today with the very same stamp and die but they are totally different. I will have to post it later. Like Steph said, I love all the swirls and curls in the die. I have even found that some of the waste are great for adding around your flowers for that little bit of extra. As much as I like the dies, the stamps for this release have been stunning with so much detail.
Enjoy your day. I'm sure that it is nice and sunny in Florida while in Maryland we are in the middle of a snow storm.

Good morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteI love this card and at my age it is one that I would definitely use as most of my friends are in the same age bracket as me. Having said that, with a change of sentiment, it could be almost anything the crafter wanted it to be (even for the men in our lives)
Hope you have a happy day wherever you are.

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue. I am loving what you are doing with the Aabigail die. Yesterday and today's creations are excellent samples of the wonderful die set you created. The colours are perfect for any autumn season..... but who are we to determine what colours each season has to be. I would use these colours whatever time of year it be. And especially for the dreaded man cards. Thankyou Sue. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

I just love this card even though I am more ready for spring than autumn (rainy, cold and dreary here). I really want the stamp to go with the die (which I have). This card should cheer anyone who is "under the weather".
