Hi bloggers! I have been playing with some gilding polish for today's card. I started by cutting four of the Hexagonal border out of coconut white card. Next, I used the Blossom Gilding Polish and covered a large area of a piece of coconut white card with it. I allowed it to dry (it doesn't take long) and cut it into strips to go behind the borders. I glued it in place then added all four borders in a row to a piece of white card to use as my background. Next I cut the outer die from the Avery die set in black to use as a backdrop. I cut two more of the Avery die in white, but left off the outer die area on those. I crisscrossed them and added them to the black die cut. I cut the very centre of the set as a base for my sentiment and then cut the Happy Birthday mini expression out of a leftover bit of the gilded pink card. I cut a black shadow for it and glued it on to the base and attached it in the middle of the card. I made one small flower using the Layered Carnation set and added a touch of Blossom Gilding Polish to the edges of the petals. I seated it with leaves on the side of the focal element. I added a thin back mat to the background, then completed the card with a mat edges in Blossom gilding polish, a black mat and a final white mat layer. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.
Morning Sue, another gorgeous creation. I love the Blossom gilding polish, it is such a beautiful soft colour. Have a great day everyone. Bx

Morning Sue. How come when you play your play time looks like this, all pretty and looking professional and when I play, it ends up in the recycle bin and I end up feeling deflated lol. What a pretty subtle colour the blossom guilding polish is, I keep forgetting to use what I have, I think I'll make a promise to myself to use one of them today. A beautiful piece of inspiration this morning thanks for sharing your playtime with us Sue. Enjoy your day xxx

ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue Very pretty card I like the colour of the gilding polish The flower is amazing I only wish my flowers turned out like yours!
ReplyDeleteLovely card and love that background. Such a different look. Nowdays I use borders and striplets for making backgrounds more that I use actual background dies, and though I have lots of gilding polishes Blossom seems to be the most used one.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteI bet this is even more beautiful ‘in real life’. Such a lovely card. Avery is showcased perfectly against that gorgeous subtle but sparkling background.
Avery was a stand out for me in the last launch. Different style to the other frames in my stash. As yet - not in my possession but I am hoping she may join me at Christmas - I have been a good girl - honest!
I do have a few of the gilding polishes and used them with great gusto when I first got them. I really must dig them out and see if they need a bit of attention because I know they can go a little dry. Hopefully after being spritzed they will spring into life.
Still battling to resume some sort of normality after being absent from the house - not going too well. How can ‘boys’ (26 and 20 year olds), manage to undo any work done in such spectacular style? I don’t think I will ever find out the answer to that question!
Happy Tuesday everyone

Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteAnother example of just how versatile your dies are Sue, the border as background looks so good. I have some gilding polish but my imagination only went as far as gold and red for Christmas until you showed us the opal one, now I can see the value of the colours with the bling in backgrounds.
I adopted the carnation last release but naughty me, have not used it yet, your oh so pretty flower today has inspired me too
Hugs
