Christmas Double Day

Hello crafters!  First up on today's Christmas double day is a robin card.  I started by cutting the Star Wreath out of antique gold card .  I embossed a square of white card with the Falling Snow folder and glued the wreath on to it.  Next I cut a bunch of the pine sprig from the Christmas Robin set and inked the pine needles with Forest Moss distress ink.  I glued them into a wreath shape then added pine cones cut from tan card.  Lastly I cut the Robin out of tan card and inked it lightly before gluing it in the lower portion of the wreath.  I cut the sentiment out of gold mirror card and glued it into the centre of the card.I cut two Faith dies in white and glued them into opposite corners on a larger piece of antique gold card.  I matted both squares with gold mirror card and added the focal element with foam in the centre.  The card was completed with white, antique gold and gold mirror card mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  7 3/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

For card number two, I cut the Natalie die into the centre of a piece of black card.  I added a white die as an offset below it then backed the card with antique gold.  I cut a Star Wreath out of Antique gold card and glued it to the black card.  I used the cutting edges to make a thin white frame and glued it around the Natalie aperture.  The sentiment was cut in both white and gold and offset then glued in the centre of the card.  I made three poinsettias out of vellum and glued them in opposite corners.  I accented them with the pine piece from the Poinsettia Cluster die set.  White, black and gold mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, always look forward to Friday double days, and these 2 samples are so beautiful, completely different and both deserve their day on the blog. The wreath and robin dies are so beautiful and symbolic for the time of year and the other sample with the simple 'Believe' says it all, thank you so much for sharing with us Sue.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  3. Hello Sue, another fabulous Double Day, love both cards, as they are totally different, one more traditional and the other contemporary and modern, so my favourite has to be the 2nd one. I know the colour combo would not be to everyone's taste, but not everyone does traditional. Have a good day everyone. Bx

  48. Hi Sue, two totally different but equally gorgeous cards. I think I would prefer the second one in navy or red rather than black but that is just me. The robin card has to be my favourite no matter what colour the second one is. Thank you for the inspiration for both cards, I am hoping to make some cards today using Natalie's Poinsettia EF which is stunning.
