Thank You

Hello my crafty friends!  I am trying to mix it up a bit with a few older release cards.  I started this one by cutting three Meandering Twig Borders out of coconut white card.  I cut three blue dusk panels and backed them with a thin black mat and added mounting foam to the backs of them.  I added all three to a piece of coconut white card.  I glued the borders to them and used Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue to add small drops to the ends of all of the border pieces for some great texture!   I allowed it to dry overnight.  I cut a Pierced Flag out of white and added the next size up in black as a mat.  I used the Thank You Mini Expression cut in black and glued it to the flag, then mounted it across the card.  Using the outer dies from the Passion Flower, I made two scrunched flowers and added glitter to the edges.  I mounted the flowers at the edge of the flag with a ribbon bow and leaves as accents.  I made two stick pins and added them as embellishments.  White, Blue dusk and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Morning Sue. Your Meandering Twigs are such a pretty stand alone die, use with another die, or show its beauty alone like you've done on this beautiful sample and you know it's going to make someone smiled. This sample could be a great quick/batch card using lots of different colour ways and switching sentiments, a beautiful sample to look at. Enjoy your Sunday xxx

  9. A little pvc bead on every single twig! Incredible!!! Yes, that could convey gratitude, if your recipient only knew the lengths you went to on the card you made for her. It does look fabulous. And watching all those glossy little pearls plop down and form up probably gave you a peaceful break from your high-intensity life.

I’m making backgrounds with Dylusions acrylic paint and whatever textures are within reach. Bubble wrap, that nubby netting that keeps rugs from slipping, and a silicone potholder that has a mini hexagon pattern. I’ve only made it through two yellows, three greens and one blue. Still have the purples, reds and oranges. I want some for fall leaves, some for behind the frames like yesterday’s card, and some for backings for the cut-out designs from Creative Expressions. Everybody has such wonderful things they do with backgrounds.

I hope you will make a point of enjoying as many of your Sunday moments as you can. I will too.

    Best,
    Donita

  20. Hello Sue,

Such a pretty card. The meandering twigs creates such a gentle, pleasing effect when used on a card and to think that you have added a pearl drop to all of the little ends. The result is certainly worth it. Getting out the older dies makes them seem like new again.

    Have a great day.

A beautiful card to start the day although I don't have the appropriate dies I'm sure I have at least one or two that would work.

    Another beauty.
Love the meandering twigs, it is such a pretty intricate die. Love blue dusk, gorgeous colour.
I really admire your perseverance putting all those pva dots on the ends of the meandering twigs. I am far to impatient to decorate my cards like that, it really does add a stunning finishing touch.
The sun is shining and the sky is blue here. Happy Sunday everyone.
