Distressed Oxide Tissue Background Card
Hi crafters! If you have a bit of tissue paper and ink, you can create some really interesting backgrounds and make a quick card too.
The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7" in size. All for now, Sue x
Hi Sue. Look forward to watching your tutorial as you have created another addiction in me which is collecting tissue paper lol whenever I receive flowers boxed up with tissue paper it goes to my collection all except the tissue paper our daughter's bridal and hair flowers were placed on in the delivery box, too much of a memory keeper to use that lol. Ive not been able to get any of the oxides yet but i hope in time when my boat comes back in ill be able to visit my craft shop and get a couple. I love the fresh colours you've used here Sue and how you've picked up the colour with the cardstock what a great idea. Thanks for such great idea's and inspiration you continue to give us, it's useful beyond words. Have a great day xxx
Lovely card Sue. Just watched the video and love how you created the background. It has gone straight on to my Pinterest saves. Thank you, have a good weekend. Xxx
Thank you for experimenting and coming up with this! Already getting ideas for making it softer with blues and greens, applied with a smoothie, since I skipped the Oxide pads and went straight to reinkers. And maybe stamping on the tissue before crumpling. Or lifting Oxide with a stencil before applying tissue. Sounds messy! Sounds fun!
Enjoy your Saturday, everybody.
I hope your weather is temperate, whoever you are.
The microclimate in my air conditioned bedroom, now doubling as a craft room, is cool and dry.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful creation with the colouring in the background, I did this technique a couple of years ago with John Lockwood, it was astonishing to see and do.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
good Morning sue and all Brilliant card this morning with a fantastic background. The colours look stunning and the effect from the tissue paper. Thank you for creating the video and heading of to watch now. Crafty hugs and well wishes to all... Wendy
Good morning Sue I'm so sorry I've only just seen that I'm one of the lucky winners! Thank you so much! I don't own any oxide ink pads yet but they look incredible, I love today's card and look forward to watching the video later to see how you e achieved it, thanks for sharing! Hugs x Heather T
Beautiful card Sue and wonderful background. Thank you for the video which I will try to save. The reason I said 'TRY' is because my PC is giving me trouble again. I haven't tried the oxides yet but I have a tubful of different makes and colours of ink-pads that I hesitate to buy more. Thank you again Sue. Marie P.
Hi Sue this is a stunning card I just love the background you have created for the gorgeous dies. I am just going to watch the video my tea is here ready. Take care. Hugs Jackie
Hi Sue, Love this card. I would never have thought of putting those colours together, but they really work well Don't have any oxides but do have all of the colours in regular Distressinks so could possibly try this with those instead, maybe spritzing. I do have the die and it is o e of my favourites for C&S cards ( especially male ones!) Great video too, thank you for all of the inspiration. Love and hugs to all, Alison xxxx
Hi Sue, love this background. So glad you've made a video of the technique, I will have to have a go. I love making cards that are different so any new technique is welcome. Love and hugs, Alison D x
A great background with texture and colors. Aways good to have another type of masculine card design, especially one that is not in dark colors. Thanks for the helpful video.
Hi Sue, sorry I didn't comment yesterday but our grandson paid us an unexpected visit which was lovely but exhausting and I fell asleep when he'd gone. Congratulations to all the lucky winners. Enjoy your dies. Great background on today's card. Similarly, I also don't have any of the oxides but will definitely be giving it a go with my distress inks. Off to watch the video. Have a Great weekend. Hugs xx Pauline
Hi Sue. What a good idea to use spray glue on this technique so that you don't have to wait for it to dry. This really is a quick and easy card to make.
Fabulous card Sue! I love the background and will experiment with different colours. I had just got my full collection of Distress Inks when the new Distress Oxides came out!!!!!!! I have ten so far but don't want to forget about my Distress Inks, too much money spent to collect them all. I received my die today Sue, thank you for being so generous with the amount of prizes you give away.
