Swirled Silent Night

Hi crafters!  I am starting out today with a beautiful sentiment die; Silent Night.  Although we have quite a selection of Mini Expression dies this release, this one is a full sized sentiment die.  It is a gorgeous readable font and it gives you such an elegant card.  I have used this one several times where I have nipped it apart to allow for different placement of the two words on my cards rather than just having the stacked positioning that they are in.  It is very easy to do so it gives you great versatility.  I have included the Pinterest button at the bottom of each post for those of you that would like to save any of the dies or samples for later inspiration, please feel free to do so.  Leave your comments on this post to be entered into the drawing for a chance to win this beautiful die.  The next blog post will be at 12 noon.  Hope you can join us then.  All for now, Sue x

  7. Hi Sue. A beautiful clean and crisp start to day 2. Loving the swirly font you've designed for this festive sentiment - would I use it ? I'm not sure if it's something the customers that visit market would pass by, and that's what I have to consider. So as much as I think it's a pretty die its not for my 'need' list. Looking forward to the rest of the day's inspiration ☺ xxx

  20. You do swirls better than any other die designer. These are so satisfying. First, the words are clear as a bell. Lots of designers can't do that, and still make it hang together. Second, there's a harmony in the swirls and a balance. It's not so much a font as calligraphy, with flourishes.

I don't know if you have that harmony of curves in your hand and you can just draw them, or if you sketch and correct until you achieve the balance you are seeking, or if you rough out one loop and ask your digital artist to make others like that one, of different sizes but proportional and with the space inside the loops maintaining the shape and direction of the one you drew. However you do it, the loops are just right. They sound like a well-rehearsed bell choir.

    Many thanks.

    Your only Donita,
    In R.I.

The sentiment is the focal point but you are teasing us with that background which is another must have (in my opinion)!
When is a sentiment not a sentiment? When it's a Sue Wilson sentiment of course. I always love the font and with the added bonus of being able to snip into them to give us yet again more versatility they are the best. A cut above the rest shall we say - lol x
