Miss You

Hello there my crafty friends!  I started this one with the background.  Rather than just stamping onto the background, I wanted it to be a bit more dimensional so I stamped the Shaded Passion Flower in black on white card and cut them all out.  I did them in a couple of different sizes, then added them on to another piece of white card covered with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet.  I filled in the remaining sticky areas on the background with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz.  Next I used the Double Pierced Noble Circles and cut a frame in black.  I added mounting foam to it and centred it in the middle of the background.  I cut the Flora die in raspberry card and seated it inside the black circular frame.  I cut two smaller circles for the centre and used the Miss You mini expression cut in pink in the middle of it.  I used a black shadow on it before gluing into place.  I made a dimensional flower as an accent using the same stamped flower image.  I inked the edges with Picked Raspberry.  I seated it on a white satin bow with leaves.  White, pink and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.   The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.

I will be back later today with the winners of the die launch drawings, don't forget to check back!   All for now, Sue x

  8. Hi Sue. What a lovely idea and effect stamping cutting and lifting the passion flower as your start point. It's something I'd thought of doing ages ago with a different flower die but as I have no imagination regarding decorating or craft I didn't think it would work, but you've proved it works beautifully thank you, I really am useless at seeing the outcome with my minds eye, in fact I don't think I was born with that 3rd eye or much of a craft brain lol. I really love how the black cardstock enhances the delicacy of the flora die, and the beauty of the raspberry coloured card. It's a really pretty sample Sue.
Hoping we see lots of familiar names on the list later (if I don't forget to check that is) !!

Have a great day and keep cool - if you can in this heat ! 🌞 xx

Morning Sue, that's what I call, a 'labour of love' stamping those flowers and then cutting them all out to make your amazing background. I do like the passion flower and as I have this stamp too, will give it a go.
    Lovely card. Hugs xx Pauline

  27. Good Morning Sue. Lovely card today Sue. And the colours ....so different for you. I love the flora die its so versatile..... you can use it whole or snip out little branches to fill little gaps on other projects. And also the circle is a nice different touch as well. Thankyou so much for you never ending inspiration. Sending best wishes to everyone and loads of luck for this afternoon in the draw. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

  28. Hi Sue
This card is stunning I love the background and the colours. Well where has this week gone I've been meaning to pop in but I've been kept busy with my Mum and grandson who turned 2 yesterday so while he's sat playing with his new truck I've popped by, thank you to everyone that welcomed me back I will try and pop in as much as I can. I have been trying to loose weight since September 2015 but with mum and hubby I was up and down but joined SW last June and last night I got my 3 stone award so I've now lost 5 stone 4lb, 3lb to get to my target.
    Happy crafting everyone

  31. My favorite thing, and it makes me melt, is the little unfurling bud of the main flower. Not having the stamp, I would try this without, so the background is white on white and still do beads between the flowers. Although the beads would get in the cut-out part of the flowers. I like the raspberry and dark chocolate you did, but I also think grey would be nice and silver might be fantastic.

I would put a white backing under where Flora will go. To save on beads. With the stamped background, the flowers and Flora's branches seemed to get in a tangle on my eye. In real life it probably doesn't.

I hope each of the June 2018 launch sets chooses the crafter who loves it most for its forever home. And I'm sure that each winner will love the set that chooses her/him.

    All the best,

    Donita

  41. Hi Sue,

Really liking that background, it's surprising how much more interesting it becomes with the flowers cut and then pasted onto it instead of just stamped onto the card - and a bit of bling never hurts does it...lol

  42. Not sure about this one Sue. I like the design but to me the centre would have been better in black too as it doesn't seem to show up well in the raspberry. I know the image we see is small compared to the real thing and in real life it maybe stands out far better. Having said all that I would not be disappointed to get that through my door so I hope you do not mind me just giving my observation and opinion. It is only that and not criticism - honest.

    Oh my - gorgeous x
That background really is stunning. By stamping and cutting it does seem to lift things and give that extra 'something'. Trying to remember if you have used this method before. Sure you have and I'm just useless at remembering but I must give it a go x

  50. Hi Sue, I really like the design of this card. Flora is beautiful as always and I appreciate the time taken to stamp and cut out the passion flowers. Although you have persuaded me to embrace black more than I have ever done before I am sorry to say that I do not like the black circle, it seems to overpower everything. Were I to attempt a version of this I would definitely tweak the colour.

Tina - well done, a marvellous loss.

Good Luck to everyone for the draw later, fingers crossed.
