Merry Christmas Mini Expression

Hi crafters!  We are starting off the day with one of the largest dies in the Mini Expression range; Merry Christmas.  I was just able to fit this one in under the wire to get it into the mini expression category.  It is a lovely mix of fonts but it really makes a statement on any card I think! Again, the two words can be nipped apart for maximum usage so it is a very versatile sentiment die.  I know this one will be a real go to for your festive card making.  I would love to read your comments about it, let me know what you think.  The second post will be online for your viewing at noontime today.  I will look for you then.  All for now,
Sue x

  7. A good chunky font makes this another great stand-alone sentiment.

Like the richness of this card.

Can't believe I am up this early commenting...... I am off on a day trip jaunt to the Scillly Isles this morning and it is an early start to get the ship in Penzance.

  8. Morning Sue. A very different style of card this morning. It's not a sentiment I use on the cards I fumble together and just for one reason - someone once said at market when browsing my cards that there are quite a few very religious people that equate the saying "Merry" along with drink, so that has stayed in my mind for years, and considering its what I sell at market that funds my die and folder collection (apart from being gifts) I have to listen to the idea's and thoughts of those I meet, so although I really like the font, design and size, again I wouldn't use it, don't waste a die on me when someone out there would love to have the chance ☺
Really looking forward to the next post Sue, have a lovely day wherever you are xxx

  12. Beautiful card. I recognize dear Natalie not only in the rays that draw attention to the sentiment, but also in the halos of swirliness.
I seem to have two dies very much like this Merry Christmas, so I'll be like Stephanie Cotterill and asked to be skipped if you happen to pull my name for this one.

But I do want to say how amazed I am to hear that some people object to the Merry part of Merry Christmas!

I would never buy a die that said Season's Greetings or Happy Holidays because it's been drummed into me that that would be like renouncing my faith. (If I send a card to friends who are Jewish, I use "Wise men still seek him," which has many layers of meaning, none of them insulting.)

It seems to me that many more of your customers, Stephanie, have never heard of the Merry being shameful and would love a Merry Christmas card. Especially if it's a mini. Maybe you can have a secret stash of them for certain customers.

Sometimes when everyone is wishing each other a Merry Christmas, I say Mary, Jesus and Joseph Christmas, just for fun, and as a reminder.

    Best to all,
    Donita

Love your sentiment and mini sentiment dies and love the use of mixed fonts - I think this gives a modern feel.

I see from the side bar that you will be back on our screens on the 30th June and 1st July. I will have to make sure that my suitcase is packed so I can watch the shows on the 30th June and set the recorder for 1st July and watch these shows when I return from my holiday.

  49. Hi Sue,

Another one for my stash and this one is large enough to be used on it's own with maybe one or two poinsettias for embellishment and job done!

Steph - I always think that those peeps who equate Merry with boozing are such killjoys, I do wonder at their mindset - to me Merry has a very Victorian feel to it, I always think of Scrooge who eventually saw the light and had himself a very Merry Christmas!...lol...you can always leave off the greeting and offer peaople a choice at point of purchase.
