Miss You

Hello there my crafty friends!  I got out the gilding flakes for today's card.  I started by covering a piece of coconut white card with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled off the backing and coated it with Sunlight Speckle gilding flakes and used a rubit scrubit pad to refine them, taking off any excess bits.   I cut the Miss You mini expression out of the centre of the background (to use later).   From Ivy Garden Background, I cut it and used the four ivy corners from it and glued them into place in the corners of the gilded background.  Next I cut the Sophia die three times in white.  I cut two of them in half and then backed the third one with a white backing.  I used the cut halves around the outside of the solid backed Sophia die.  I added it to the centre of the card with foam.  Next I stamped the Butterfly Circle Stamp To Die For with Flake and Glitter glue.  I used gilding flakes over the top and refined them, removing the excess flake.  I cut the stamped image out with the circle from the Ivy Garden then mounted it in the centre of the card.  I cut the small lattice section from that die set and added it with a white backing.  I added the sentiment (cut earlier) to the middle of the card.  I completed the card with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  46. Hi Sue,

What a stunner!...like Muriel I've been so busy playing with the Pixies that the Gilding Flakes went on the back burner but time to get them out again - and thank you for the reminder that I can stamp with the F/G glue too, so useful to be able to do that, turns any stamp into something with the Wow factor...

Julie laz - so glad to read that you're on the mend and what a shock for your poor hubby and son...had to smile though that you had the whole ward crafting as soon as you recovered consciousness...attagirl!

I've not yet used gilding flakes although I did buy some more than a year ago. Seeing this gorgeous card may be the stimulus I need to at least give them a try. Mind you, I also now have quite a few Pixie Powders and I haven't tried those either. I think I'm afraid to try them which is quite stupid I know.
