Wednesday Weekly Card GIveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  Today's card giveaway is one of the demos from my last shows on Hochanda.  I started by cutting the decorative die from the Poppy die set twice across a piece of coconut white card.  I backed it with a sticky adhesive sheet attached to a piece of white card.  I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz on all the remaining exposed adhesive for a bit of a bling to my background.  Next I cut another Poppy die in white and nipped it in half so I could use the corners.  I cut it again in wisteria card and backed it in white, then cut the centre of it out.  I added mounting foam to the back then attached the cut Poppy die so just the corners were sticking out from behind.   I attached this to the centre of the card and recessed down into the oval the middle section of the Poppy die cut in white and backed in wisteria.  I cut it one more time and attached it but left the floral element unattached and lifted it up a bit.   I made a 3D flower by cutting just the large flower from the oval a couple of times and nipping it out to use.  I inked it lightly with Shaded Lilac distress ink and glued it back into place on top of the flower in the oval.  I cut the Happy Mothers day from the Springtime Frame die set and glued it into place (I needed to nip away a few bits of the flowers to make it fit).  White and wisteria mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9 1/2" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  All for now, Sue x

  4. Hi Sue. This is such a stunning delicate sample and you're such a wonderful person to gift this to some very lucky honoured blog lover.
Although it's not a card I need to make, I just know that this die will help me make a lot of mum's very happy next 2019 Mother's Day as your dies have done this year so I thank you for helping me put a smile on someone somewhere's face this Mothers Day.
I send you love and hugs as I do every day and a bigger hug for all the inspiration you give us daily, have a wonderful day wherever in the world you are xxx

  10. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful give away card today, love this one, sadly my Mum is no longer with us but I know if she had been here she would have loved this so much. Good luck to everyone.

Sorry not been on the blog for a few days, will catch up with the missed posts later, I have been on a 2 day parchment craft retreat - which I must say is, without a doubt, the best retreat I have ever been on, I learnt so much, the venue was wonderful, if any of you know it, it was The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells, met so many friends and made many new ones, but don't worry I love both parching and card crafting just as much.

Got lots to do today as it is my Wednesday craft group, so must get my self in gear and get ready for that.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  36. This card makes me happy. One because you only have to cover the outer edges with glitterbitz and two because Jacqui's comment made me think what a great wedding card this would make. Three because it's so clever of you to make so many of your dies work equally well horizontal or vertical. But mainly because it is so beautiful. Congratulations to the person who doesn't know it yet but who will be the winner.
I'm kicking myself for missing the Octagons on Phill's One Day Special on Hochanda. But I got the Checkerboard and Pinpoint Something embossing folders.

Our stamp gathering last weekend was cancelled because of Friday's storm. Some of us were without power until Monday night, and trees and wires were down everywhere. Some weren't all the way down, and you had to drive under. I was careful to preserve battery power in my phone and iPad, but I didn't notice I was losing brain power. Got it back by staying home Tuesday. And Wednesday is bringing another storm

This is March, coming in like a lion.

    Best to all, Donita

Donita, I did catch the octagon dies on Hochanda. I had made up my mind that I would not be tempted as I have the hexagons....well Phill's samples were so gorgeous AND it was such a good deal....I hope that you enjoy the embossing folders. I had to pass on those as my bank account was tapping me on the shoulder but they are lovely. Be careful with wires down, etc. Staying in is a good plan. We are in for colder weather again here so zap goes the flowering trees and azaleas. We are not having the pretty springs of the past these last couple of years.
