Happy Easter

Hello bloggers!  Since it will be upon us in a few weeks,  I thought I had better share an Easter card with you.  As it is, you will probably be subjected to both Easter and Mother's Day cards after the fact! LOL   I started this one by embossing a piece of coconut white with the Tartan Trellis embossing folder.  Next I cut the Happy Easter Egg die in three colours, blue, yellow and purple.  I cut three of the outer egg shape out of white card with sticky adhesive sheets on them, then peeled the backing off and added the sentiments and glittered the remaining part with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz.  I cut a decorative scalloped backing for each and added matching bows and mounted them with foam across the card.  I couldn't help by add several of the little chicks like they were scurrying across the card.  White on white mats and layers completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 5 3/4" x  11" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Three pastel eggs with their cunning little bows and sugared shells make a fine Easter card, but those little baby chicks just scurried right into my heart.

    Thank you for that moment.

Enjoy the new week, whatever it may bring.

    Best,
    Donita

  2. Morning Sue. Happy Monday. Such a pretty die collection and a real cute sample. Although I have no need to make a Mother's Day for my own use and Easter is catered for it would be lovely to see more of these samples for the two occasions so no apologies Sue, we don't need to read any apologies just bring them in. Oh and those chicks are adorable I can't help but smile at them lol.
Hope you have a lovely day whatever your plans xxx

  12. Hi Sue,

This card just makes my heart sing. I love the delicacy of the eggs from the scalloped edges to the pastel colors and the pretty bows. The added sparkle just makes them look like the perfect sugared egg. And what can I say about the scurrying chicks but they are simply adorable. Can you tell that I just love it.

    Have a wonderful day.

  30. Good Morning Sue. What a lovely card today Sue. These eggs reminds me of when I was a young girl (many years ago). We used to get an Easter egg..... no boxed packaging..... just a sellophane wrap tied with a bow to hold it together. Just a shell egg ....no chocolates inside. Our names were written on the egg in icing sugar and there would be two or three iced roses for decoration. Thankyou for the nostalgia Sue. Best wishes to everyone this miserable morning. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

  31. Morning Sue,

    Lovely cheerful Easter card.

I remember the eggs wrapped like that too Ann. Mind you, in those days our Easter eggs were so thick with chocolate that you really had to hit them hard to crack them open not like the thin ones of today.

  58. Hi Sue, I loved this die set on launch and really, really wanted it especially to get the little chick but as I had only just got the Easter Basket set from last year I couldn't really justify its purchase. It is still on the wish list though and hopefully it will come to me in time for next year. The card is rather large for me but I know that a single egg will still make a beautiful card.

The thaw began here yesterday and although there is still plenty of snow around it is now possible to safely walk on cleared pavements. Feeling sorry for those who have lost heating and/or water and hope services are restored soon.

Very pretty Easter card. The little chicks remind me of the sound of several "Easter chicks" peep, peep, peeping from a cardboard box on Easter morning! Sue, did you get "Easter chicks" and or little ducks for Easter? Or maybe a sweet fuzzy bunny?
