You're Special To Me

Hi bloggers!  Today's card was a bit of an experiment and I liked the way it came out!  I cut the outer section from the Ivy Garden Background die out of white card. Next I used some clear texture paste and added some Golden Mint and Emerald Green Pixie Powders to it.  I mixed it with a palette knife then spread it over another piece of coconut white card.  I placed the die cut piece with the four ivy corners cut out of it on top of the texture paste so that it came up through the ivy corners.  I set it aside to dry overnight then flattened it out a bit (it was a bit wobbly due to the water in the paste)  I added a multi-layered frame over it made from the Double Pierced Noble squares.  I cut a Sophia die out of white and added it with foam to the centre.  I cut the smaller die from the set and layered it up in the middle, then added the stamped sentiment framed with the Double Stitched Octagon Nobles.  White on white mats and layers completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Morning all, or is it still night?!! I LOVE this card Sue. As I've said before I love leaves and octagons so this is just my kind of card. And the sentiment is very apt as we all think that you are very special to all of us! Thanks for sharing, I'm going to have a go at this one. Love to all Sarah

  2. Hello all
That is a fabulous background, the texture is fabulous. I have just been watching your Hochanda shows from Friday and Saturday, the Sophia die set features a lot and is so versatile, the garden is gorgeous too. Ivy is a favourite in dies, always effective.
So happy to be able to catch up on your demos on Hochanda now, was lovely to see gilding flakes back and lots of ideas for the city skyline.
    Hugs to everyone

  4. Good morning Sue. I agree so much with Sarah in respect of today's sentiment. I'm writing this with a big smile of gratitude to you as thanks to the tools you have bought to us my four hours at the farmers market yesterday was extremely financially productive and it really IS all down to the dies and inspiration you give us, the sample above says it all - the new Ivy Garden background, the new Sophia and octagon frame plus that stunning background made in a way I didn't know existed, so there is the gorgeous proof that I couldn't have done it without you, so now I can sit back and relax today and catch up with the shows I had to record whilst working to make extra Mother's Day cards in prep for yesterday plus try and hunt down the very new 3D embossing folders to enhance my background work, plus I'm excited to see what Lisa brings to us today. All in all I apologize for feeling so smug about my happy day yesterday, but this is what you have helped me achieve with your dies and complete knowledge of craft. So I'm sending extra big hugs and thank you's your way. Have a great day xxx
