Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a really simple card with a lovely floral accent.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with our new 3D embossing folder called Decadent Dots.  I didn't want to cover up very much of that wonderful embossed texture so I opted for a floral element as my main focal point.  I stamped the Passion Flower stamps in black and cut them out with the matching Passion Flower dies.  I inked the edges with Shaded Lilac distress ink and assembled the flowers.  I used the same sort of technique as shown in my Paper Rose tutorial at the top of the blog.  I cut a Pierced Flag die in white and seated the Thank You mini expression on it.  I used a black shadow on the bottom then stacked up several of the words cut out of wisteria on top of it.  I seated the flowers at the end of the flag and added several of the Lace Edged Leaves in white as accents.  I cut a side view butterfly from the Magical Butterfly set, inked the wings with shaded lilac and glued two of the stacked up to the opposite corner of the card.  I left the wings unglued so they could be raised up.  I used wisteria, white and black mats and layers to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win it!  All for now Sue x

    Oh Wow! the 3D embossing folder is stunning as is the flower that you have made from the passion flower, Will definitely have a try at that one. Lucky winner of this gem.
    So excited, am ready to join the Pixies tomorrow, I put in an order today and should arrive overnight, your pixie backgrounds are always outstanding and suit so many styles of card, am sure to make a mess to start with as warned by other Wilsonettes but will keep trying.

    Good morning kind hearted lady. I always feel I may get accused of 'grovling' when I open my comment in this way, but as you have no control over who is chosen for giveaways I hope these thoughts disappear
    What an unusual but smashing folder, absolutely brilliant to use on a man's card I love it, time to look for all these new folders you've been showing us recently and refresh my own stash, there I times I like to keep the mat plain and simple but these folders are such a valuable piece of crafting kit.
    The floral design today is just beautiful you can almost visualise the most amazing fragrance filtering through the screen, now I know where Tina E get her flower making talent from. Well that's enough from me, but whoever is the chosen recipient of this stunning giveaway will be the luckiest person living that day. Have a wonderful day whatever your plans.
    Still seems so odd that we lost 3 followers 'just like that' why ?

    Morning Sue, whoever gave the embossing folder it's name really hit the nail on the head. It truly is 'decadent'. Probably, along with countless other members, -I will be chasing this one up, asap.

    Really, you can do that with Passion Flowers? I love how you've touched the edges of the flowers, the butterfly and the stitched flag with shaded lilac. And you sure know how to introduce a new embossing folder! I like how the dots form hexagons.

    Hi Sue, I love everything about this card. The Decadent Dots folder is indeed worthy of being the main star of the show although the beautiful stamped Passion Flowers are a very close run second. The colours are some of my favourites too. Altogether a gorgeous card that some very lucky person will win.

    A beautiful card for the give away. I love the Passion Flower set and can't wait to attempt this look with them although I know it won't come out as pretty as these. A great new embossing folder also (Kudos to eagle eyed Donita for noticing the hexagon design). I am adding it to my list with the Aztec folder.

    Fabulous card today. The embossing folder is gorgeous but by now is probably sold out everywhere!! I hadn't realised just how much difference using the stamp before cutting the die would make. I need that stamp.

    Good Thursday morning Sue.
    Even though I now have a new hard-drive I am still getting your blog a day late and Don't know why This card is so lovely and I just like everything about it. I rarely use embossing because so many of the folders don't have the title on them so I have just started to emboss from each of my folder as a reference for me. I hope to buy the folder you have used today and hope I can find it on line.
