Mom / Mum

Hi bloggers!  Next die up on offer is the Mom/Mum die set.  This was a tricky one to design as my die line is not only sold in the UK, but also in the US, Canada and parts of Europe and Australia /NZ.  Some prefer Mom and some prefer Mum so I have designed a set that can be used either way.  The "O" in Mom can be easily nipped to create a "U" and transform the word into whichever form you prefer.  Shown here as Mom, you can see the lovely detail in each of the letters.  I promise to share a Mum card with you after the blog launch.  If you would like a chance to win this set, you just have to leave a crafty comment on this post.  Don't forget to make your name memorable though, I only have a single set to give away of each of the dies!  See you back here at 3pm today!  All for now, Sue x

  2. Afternoon Sue and all Wilsonettes, I can understand about the Mum and Mom, you might have a few people asking about 'a' so that they can do Mam, another way of speaking especially up north. Anyway a beautiful day as always.

  6. Hi Sue, very pretty letters in this set. I think I can see where you could cut the”o” to make a “u” and still leave a nice white edge like the rest of the letter - being in Australia I am definitely a “mum” girl! I’ll look forward to see your card with the “mum” version when you do one.

  118. Had the mum/mom debate on a Birmingham history Facebook forum, and although Americans tend to go with Mom and Brits tend to go with Mum, the consensus was that Mom was a midlands expression first and took hold in the states with midlanders being amongst the fist European settlers, but Mum became more popular over here, though Mam in the north east. There was much complaining that you never see Mom on cards in the shops here....soreally pleased to see this die set!
