Hi bloggers! Next die up on offer is the Mom/Mum die set. This was a tricky one to design as my die line is not only sold in the UK, but also in the US, Canada and parts of Europe and Australia /NZ. Some prefer Mom and some prefer Mum so I have designed a set that can be used either way. The "O" in Mom can be easily nipped to create a "U" and transform the word into whichever form you prefer. Shown here as Mom, you can see the lovely detail in each of the letters. I promise to share a Mum card with you after the blog launch. If you would like a chance to win this set, you just have to leave a crafty comment on this post. Don't forget to make your name memorable though, I only have a single set to give away of each of the dies! See you back here at 3pm today! All for now, Sue x

Afternoon Sue and all Wilsonettes, I can understand about the Mum and Mom, you might have a few people asking about 'a' so that they can do Mam, another way of speaking especially up north. Anyway a beautiful day as always.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

So pretty, a flowery font, thanks for sharing from LM-Designs Lianne Morrison in the uk
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good idea. Turn it upside down and you get WOW!

Hi Sue, very pretty letters in this set. I think I can see where you could cut the”o” to make a “u” and still leave a nice white edge like the rest of the letter - being in Australia I am definitely a “mum” girl! I’ll look forward to see your card with the “mum” version when you do one.
ReplyDeleteThe 6th comment should be from Karene M from Australia, not anonymous- i must have pressed the wrong button!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,

ReplyDeleteLove the design of letters Sue but am thinking that by cutting into the O to make U this will make the letter smaller than the M. I look forward to seeing it in action

I see how you made the u turn it upside down with an extra flower in the midddle it becomes a mam which I am, Sue you will never please all the people I am not critising your brilliant designs, just that we can always find away around things, now I am waffling.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue and everyone
ReplyDeleteGreat die set and beautiful card. Sadly my lovely mother is no longer around and now lives only in my heart and in my memories. But being from ‘Up North’ she was a Mam. Good idea about the O and U though, and I am surprised just how many on the blog have said they have or did had Mams.
As I said the card is beautiful.

Very nice sue. It is a tricky word here in Ireland we use ma or mam can never get it completely right. Laura O Springfield
ReplyDeleteLovely design, Sue! Such a good idea to cater for both spelling variations.
ReplyDeleteLaura K, Buckinghamshire
Had the mum/mom debate on a Birmingham history Facebook forum, and although Americans tend to go with Mom and Brits tend to go with Mum, the consensus was that Mom was a midlands expression first and took hold in the states with midlanders being amongst the fist European settlers, but Mum became more popular over here, though Mam in the north east. There was much complaining that you never see Mom on cards in the shops here....soreally pleased to see this die set!
ReplyDeleteChris’ partner Elizabeth - wonder if he’ll read this ;)
Hi Sue,
