Sweet Dreams

Hello fellow bloggers!  I have gone very clean and simple for this baby card today.  I will admit to being quite smitten with it though,  as sometimes, as they say, less is more!  I started by cutting three small Hexagons from the Double Stitched Hexagon Noble die set and adding mounting foam to the back of them.  I attached them across a larger piece of coconut white card with two up and one down in the middle.  From the Sweet Dreams Little One die set, I cut the turtle out of pale green card and inked him lightly with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink and added him coming out and upwards from the left hexagon.  For the centre, I cut the puppy out of taupe card and inked him lightly with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink.  I added mounting foam and centred him in the middle hexagon.  I cut the bunny out of pink card, adding a bit of Worn Lipstick oxide to the ears, tail and heart and added her to the remaining hexagon with foam.  I cut the sweet dream sentiment die twice out of pale green card and stacked them, gluing it into the lower corner.  White on white mats provided a lovely clean finish to the simple card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

  2. Gorgeous card Sue, so lovely. May be clean and simple but with a beauty all if it's own.
Elaine I'm so sorry that Andrews results weren't good. Let's hope he gets on the treatment quickly and changes things around. He is in my prayers and maybe the power of prayer can help him like it did with Emily. Mary's results were good. It was sad about their friends passing, you are right life is very cruel at times. Andrew is a fighter and he has you all at his side.
Myra from Florida, good to hear about Emily, you all must have been so happy this Christmas.
Ann happy birthday to you son, get planning for next year for your other son.
My SIL and nephew are here till New Years Day so it will be a busy time till then. Dave was delightful all day, had my BP checked yesterday afternoon and it was normal so having a dig around must be calming. The meds however have caused very bad side effects so the have reduced the disease and added another on to try to keep it stable until the op is done. Hooe it's not too much longer.
June hapoy to hear you are on the mend but leave the craft room, you are not strong enough for that.
Sharon please take care, keep warm and cosy . It is so cold here, as Alimecca said we are forecast for heavy snow today.
Take care everyone, warming hugs on the way, thinking of all poorly and missing friends.

  5. Morning Sue from a very cold white Lancashire ! But how heart warming and sweet is today's sample. I adore clean and fresh cards especially when it's for a new born it kind of depicts the innocence of a beautiful new life. I have these cute darlings I treated myself a few months ago and sent a card to a customer only yesterday with these sweet dies as the stars of the card to welcome a new baby in to the family thats just had so much heartbreak to deal with so thank you for giving me the tools to bring a smile to a broken family. Im hoping to be able to pop in over the next few days as we are escaping the NY celebrations again and taking a very frightened anxious little dog away from the terrifying fireworks and packing up to return to the cottage in the middle of nowhere, on a farm with peice and quiet - saying that, being there this time last year its hunting season !! Something we have our own strong views on but its the countryside and we can't share out views obviously just try to block it out, rather hard with horses trotting down the lane and men with cocked guns over their arm and hunting dogs searching for grouse to take off for their owners 'pleasure' it's a case of head down, craft out and radio up higher than normal, it's the price my keeper and I pay to keep our nervous little friend happy during the NY fireworks that last into the early hours !!
So I'm really hoping I can join in over the next few days (where there's a will there's a way) so love and hugs are on their way. Stay warm and happy xxx

We returned home yesterday from Christmas at our daughter's. Matilda is such a happy baby with a smile for everyone. My mother (89) was so delighted to cuddle her. I must make a start on the pile of dirty washing, but hopefully will find time to play with my new dies.

  35. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, well this is absolute PERFECTION, I love it, simple but so cute and sweet, this is one of the dies I do not have, so must rectify this as soon as I can.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, I did do a little bit of cutting out yesterday but only for about an hour or so, then left it for another day. I am feeling better, not quite 100% yet but getting there, Colin really has been so good to me, there is a wonderful smell of a beef casserole cooking in the oven, yummy, I might try some of that later, just had porridge and feel OK. - Elaine I am sorry to hear that Andrew's illness is back, as you say why did they stop the treatment when it was doing some good, I hope and pray that it get's back on track and he begins to feel much better.

It is raining extremely hard here in Kent but I know that the North of England, Scotland and parts of Ireland are having a bad time, so please everyone be extra careful and only go out if you really have too.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  47. Hi Sue, I love this card! I adore all of the stitched and stuffed animals and now I have the hexagons I can pinch this idea. I recently had to make a keepsake card with pockets for a lady that had a stillborn baby and your animals, hills, clouds & the rainbow all helped to make a card that I was proud of and she was thrilled with so I thank you very much as without your brilliant designs I would have struggled.

I was supposed to be visiting a friend who is recouperating at home after an operation but I am going nowhere today. The snow is already quite deep and is still coming down. My neighbour has very kindly (and unexpectedly) cleared the front path and put some salt down which was very nice of her.

Elaine - so sorry for Andrew, thoughts and prayers winging their way to you all.
CraftySuetoo - hope the meeting was ok and you can work your notice agreeably.

Gorgeous beautiful baby card ,i love it !.

Well i did not go to the Funeral it was so slippy with black ice here this morning , John has gone but with me having a cough and not wanting to pass it on especially to Andrew thought it best not to go.
Thank you for your wishes , Andrew could not grasp all that was told to him so i spoke to Helen last night , it appears the kidneys and bladder have active cells in them and the cells are heading for the liver ,as yet the liver is healthy so they are going to put in a sten , when these active cells have shrunk and hopefully died , if it is they get active again the sten will protect the liver . So thats the plan as far as i can tell .

If you have to go out please take care
    hugs to all

  52. Dear Sue and Wilsonettes,

Totally charmed by this card. I swear you can see that puppy's tail wag. And the heart on the bunny goes straight into mine! Many thanks for creating this sweetness for us to share.

Also grateful to the Southern Hemisphere folks for not mentioning how hot you are.

How can we harness this deep freeze to help Andrew? Wrapping your family in warmth and love and may the healthy cells win his long-fought war.

Stephanie Cotterill, I hope it's too cold for hunters while you're escaping the fireworks.

Izzy, your new Platinum will perform like a champ and restore your faith in Spellbinders.

Breakfast today is going to be pound cake, coffee, eggnog and not-from-concentrate pineapple-grapefruit juice. It's cold enough to put on the full-body fleece union suit, but not after all those liquids.

    Crewe Trish, your heart shines.

Carmen, you might want to change those high red heels for some big brown boots and heavy socks.

    Love,
    Donita

Good morning Sue and all the Wilsonettes.
How ironic that today's card is a gorgeous baby one when I spent hours yesterday making a baby card for the little one that should have arrived by now. I may buy those dies when I go on my craft-store jaunt as I could use the dies for next year's birthday. Having said that, I have a list a mile long and I will have to prioritise (Or take out a loan)
Today I am planning to do a bit of a tidy-up in my craft room and put away some of my Christmas stuff until July.
Andrew is in my prayers too, along with his family who also need prayers.
    Bye for now.
