Wonderful In Every Way

Hello bloggers!  Back to a single post a day, at least until tomorrow! LOL  Today's offering uses one of the new Foundations colours that are now available; the royal blue.  I have pared it with black and white so it really pops!  I started by cutting the Ecliptic Edger design into both sides of a piece of coconut white card.  I backed it with Royal blue to show through from the back.  For the centre focal element, I cut the Jennifer die out of Royal Blue and backed just the inner section with black.  I cut two of the Columba Gemini die in white and added them to the sides of the Jennifer die as they easily hug the edge and just need a drop of glue to keep them in place.  I made two flowers using the Nasturtium Cluster and inked the edges with Chipped Sapphire ink.  I seated them on a satin ribbon bow and added a couple of leaves from the Pinwheel Floral set as accents.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the oval from the Scarlet die set, inking the edges lightly with Chipped Sapphire before attaching it to the centre of the card.  Black, white and Royal Blue mats and layers and white flatback pearls were used to finish the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  13. Morning Sue. Today's sentiment ties up the past few days really great. You designed your recent collections thinking of everyone's taste in craft, you certainly gave us many surprises throughout especially showing us your inner grunge which I think was the biggest surprise of the launch, some of us got so excited while some of us wasn't so sure, but I'm almost certain you've recruited many grunge lovers. Then we had 'our Sue dies' the Necessity collection where just adorable and no matter how or when they will be joining my collection as to say they'll be exceptionally useful and lovely to use is a total understatement, I can't wait to own and play. You've worked endlessly on this new launch and I can imagin all the hard work that went into the first grunge/steampunk dies you've created (possibly not) but knowing how much of a perfectionist you are I can possibly imagin that they were the hardest to work on.
All in all it was a brilliant few days which bought many a smile to my face, thank you, and thank you for all you do. Which is why the sentiment today fits you like a glove.
Have a wonderful day no matter where you are or what you're plans are, you deserve the best because you give the best xxx

  90. Hi Sue,
What a beautiful card! Not only the paper is Royal (Blue) but the card is Royal, too. Love all die sets you used; so lacy, elegant and feminine. The pearls really finish off the card. Love the sentiment … you Sue, are wonderful in every way! I hope you were pleased at the response from your new launch, it is a huge success to me.

Pam – Hope everything went smooth for you today.
Elaine – A big but gentle hug for you.
Nanny Joo Joo, Myra, Brenda Lello – Happy Belated b-day! Hope all of you had a fantastic day!
Stephanie K – I am a summer person dreaming to move one day to a country where is only summer (I don’t mind showers and a little bit wind once in a while).

I made my first shaker card ever.
I was asked, by one of my coworkers, to make it in rush a Christmas card for Jacob Thompson. I didn’t know who he is so I googled his name … he is a brave little boy, 9 years old who has terminal cancer. The doctors gave him a month to live. His parents have decided to have their Christmas celebration early this year, and Jacob wants people to celebrate along with him by sending Christmas cards. They didn’t ask for money or anything else, just for a Christmas card. Since Jacob loves penguins I decided to make a penguin shaker card/ ornament (he can hang it from his last Christmas tree). I feel blessed and honored to be asked to make a card for Jacob. Sue, I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart because you made it possible. All I know about making cards I learned from your brilliant videos and amazing explanations. Thank you.
Also, for those who wants to help Jacob, if you think it is too late to send him a Christmas card, you can pray for him. I still believe in Christmas miracles.
We should make time, more often, to tell to our loved ones how much they mean for us.Tell them how much we love them as often as we can.

    Hugs to you all,
Still a newbie to Craft / not longer the newest, or the only across the pond Wilsonette

  109. Hi Sue. What a pretty card and such a lovely colour. Love the edger and I think that the result looks a little but like embroidery (I think it may be called drawn thread work). I am still surprised at just how delicate the cuts of your dies are!

  115. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a lovely shade of blue, it works so well with the coconut white and black. This card sample is simply stunning, ingenious use of the Gemini die, it has created a lovely focal point. Back to normal services however that can never be a disappointment with the quality of all of your designs, well done Sue and thanks for all your hard work:-)
Feeling a little rough tonight:-( , had a trip to the dentist earlier to get 4 fillings....yes i know its atrocious, i blame my addiction to fizzy sour sweeties but the dentist says its my poor health causing it, nevermind, at least i’m Not having to have them all removed, even i’m Too young for dentures...i think! The anaesthetic has started to wear off finally, so i’m Not dribbling anymore than usual now:-)
Since i’m Feeling slightly delicate tonight i am going to be super nice to everyone...yes, even Yvonne!.....i have my guard down so i hope no one takes advantage....Yvonne yet again!.....i’ve Soldiered on and tried to catch up on everyone’s news and it seems that i missed a few birthdays yesterday so can i please give some belated dumps to Brenda, Nanny Joo Joo and my lovely friend, the incomparable Myra! Hope you all had a fabulous day full of presents, cake and something sparkly:-)
Pam, i do hope that your meeting went well and that your managers were put in their place....you deserve to be given a break because you have enough to cope with just now. Sending warm hugsxxx
Carmen/Dorothy, what a heartwarming story, it really brought a tear to my eye. How thoughtful of you to use your skill at cardmaking to make a little boys final wish come true, and how sad that this little boy is suffering so, his family must be distraught:-( i will keep the wee soul in my thoughts and prayers in the hope that maybe he can find his Christmas miracle...it makes you appreciate your own situation and loved ones because there for the grace of God go I, we should all take the time to smell the roses in life. Big hugs to you honey, you have such a big heartxxx
Saba, i have shoes of various heel heights and styles, plus they are of every colour imaginable. I have a pair of flat royal blue glitter shoes but if you don’t care for blue i also have red, pink and silver ones too so i’m Sure you could find something that suits...it depends on your outfit though because as every fashionista knows your shoes simply must match! There’s no need to make fun of Maureen’s affliction, my Mum has bad legs too which make even the nicest pair of shoes appear odd. We, on the otherhand, have pins like Betty Grable...do you remember her movies?...who dare compete with that!
Maureen, a nice pair of sensible, flat lace ups are what’s best at your age anyway methinks....at least your house is freshly decorated with new flooring so who cares about your duff legs anyway:-)
Rosemary, thanks for the cuddle, really needed it today. Sending one right back at you in the hope that you are feeling much better at the momentxxx
Yvonne, you can run but you cant hide.......:-)
Hugs to all my blog besties and extra for those in need of a great big cuddlexxx

    Love and crafty hugs

  118. Hello Sue,
A lovely card today once again and in my favourite colours. How are you today after the excitement of the Launch? I’m sure you must be happy with our reaction! We all loved it!
    Thanks Brenda! X
Thanks too to Carmen for your good wishes! Your story about little Jacob really touched me. We so often take the health of our children and grandchildren for granted and forget to say “ thank you!” I will pray for little Jacob and his family.
June - I too was thrilled to hear the news from Tina! It’s lovely!
    Love to all,
Myra ( Friend of Maureen! ) xxx

  121. Hell Sue,
What a fantastic card for a post launch day. Love the new foundation colour, it really looks dramatic teamed with the coconut white. You have created a real beauty with all the different elements you've used. Love it. Thank you Sue.

Pam hope all went well today and your manager backs off now.
Sam, I'd never ignore your comments! I often look back at them to remind me of which dies Sue has used, especially if it's an older one, your summing up really helps.
Carmen your story about Jacob touched my heart, such unimaginable grief for his family. Well done for making him a card, I'll be praying for him tonight, I'm so blessed my grandchildren are well and happy, we often take it for granted until we hear tales such as this.
Lorraine I am so excited, I think I'll have the pink ones if you don't mind, I don't have a particular outfit in mind which will do them justice though so I'll wear them at home with a pink leopard skin leotard I've been wearing this week for my " gymnastic treatments". Thankyou, I'll be watching out for Mr. Postie. Sorry you had to have dental treatment. My daughter had a crown this week and said she thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! She's a dental nurse, mad as a hatter.

    Love and hugs for all
