Wishing You Smooth Sailing

Good Sunday morning all!   I just love this sweet little card and thought I would share it with you.  I used the Porthole die as the focal element, but turned it into a life preserver by wrapping it with red and white Bakers Twine.  I used the sentiment from the set and cut it in navy blue card and backed it in white and attached it behind.  I selected a piece of red and white polka dot decorative paper from my stash to use on the lower portion of the card.  I embossed a piece of white card with the Ocean Wave Pinpoint folder and attached the decorative paper to the bottom of it.  I cut the Trellis Edger in blue and used it as a border between the two pieces.  I cut the sailboat from the Nautical Accessory set in white and in navy blue.  I cut the bottom of the ship off of the blue one and glued it on top of the white one.  I added it to the bottom portion of the card with mounting foam and cut a ships wheel in white to go with it.  The card was completed in white, red and blue mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.

  1. Happy Bank Holiday Weekend Sue and all. Lovely card Sue, great for males and our Saba
Congratulations to comment game winners, enjoy your prizes
Happy Birthday June and twin sister, like Royalty, you now have two birthdays. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Pat, hope you had a great time with your granddaughters staying over.
Elaine, so happy to read that Helen and Andrew had a good day out. Let's hope John is soon sorted and his cataract done too.
My granddaughter Rachael did well at her showjumping. She is new to it but has done more than enough for her course and she had a good time. Next comes trampoline and netball. She is a champion at archery but they dropped that from the curriculum this year.
Donita, I'm happy that you are out of the way of the hurricane, my brother and his family too but it is terrible for the people who are caught up in it. We moan about our weather but we don't have that to contend with.
Crewe Trish I'm resting, don't have any energy for anything else, must get my card made for Lesley and Gary's Silver wedding anniversary, her birthday card is done.
Hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends. Miss each and every one of you.

The more I look at this card, the more I like it - the red, white and navy colour scheme is perfect, the baker's twine around the life belt is such a neat idea and that little sailboat is so realistic despite it's tiny size....this card would be great for anyone, not just sailors but also for anyone starting out on life's journey or changing tack in mid-stream to head off in a new direction...

Congratulations to the Comment Game winners and not forgetting....
