Sea You

Hi crafters!  It's a fun sort of card for a Monday morning!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and stamped my sentiment at the top centre of the card.   I used the inside of the fishbowl die and traced it lightly with a pencil.  I stamped the cat from the Fishbowl Friends stamp set so that it was partially inside the fishbowl area and outside to the right of it.  I coloured the cat then cut an aperture on the pencil line, saving the inside piece for later.   Using the round treat cup, I filled it with clear hand sanitiser and sealed it by gluing acetate over the top and allowing it to dry well.  I taped the treat cup in place through the aperture.  I embossed the inside aperture cut out piece using the Ocean Waves Pinpoint embossing folder.  I cut a couple of fish out of blue card and two seaweed pieces of out green card.  I used the matching stamps to add detail to the fish, then glued all the pieces on to the embossed aperture piece.  I added that to a larger square of white card then taped it behind the treat cup making sure that the cat would line up with the original stamp on the background.  I attached the original background over the front of the treat cup, lining up the cat, then inked lightly around the edge with Tumbled Glass.  I cut a Fishbowl and inked it with Tumbled Glass before attaching it over the top of the treat cup.  I made a table for the fishbowl to sit on by folding a piece of kraft card then adding some thin strips as legs.  I cut the Bermuda die out of white and backed it in white, then cut it in half down the centre.  I added a score line to help fold it over the table so it looked like a table cloth draping from it.  I completed the card with white on white pierced mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  6. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh what a lovely card to wake up to on this very miserable and wet morning in Kent, it is raining hard here. Look at that little cat's face, it is so cute, love it.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, and yes I had a great time yesterday, made a lovely landscape card using the London scene (bought from Joanna Sheen) and also using the pebeo gum - I enjoyed that, then we made a bag with flowers decorating it and a she card to match. Mind you I was so tired when I got home. Pleased to hear that yesterday was a better day for you. Also I had to look up Seaham on Google as I had never heard of it, it looks a lovely little place and the Lickety Splits ice cream shop sounds a lot of fun, I saw a statue of what looks like a fisherman, could that have been Tommy, will have to have another look.

Still got to make my twin sisters 70th birthday card yet, I think I have an idea now, only 6 days to go.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxx

  8. Dear Sue and Crafters All,

Who knew one could get a lovely tablecloth in Bermuda! Such a clever card, and happy, too.

Margaret Rogers, your husband must have robbed the cradle!

Bert the Dalmatian is a good name.

Today I saw a black lab puppy in a red shopping cart. Made my day. She was eight weeks old and very well-behaved, although they were buying accident pads for their floor.

My cat and I have survived the flea-bombing of our house.

Rosemary Powell, I'm going to write down your line and use it for encouragement.

I think NASA is going to Facebook Live the eclipse.

    Enjoy your week.

    Love,
    Donita

  25. Hi June, Tommy is a WW1 soldier in full uniform sitting with his rifle, tin hat, greatcoat and the legging strips they had to wear to protect their legs. It is an amazing monument and it was on loan fir a while to Seaham. The people loved it so much it was bought and us is a permanent war memorial. Lickety Splits is a 50's style American Ice Cream Parlour, ice cream to die for.

  39. Hi Sue
A very happy card the cat lovers would appreciate this one .

Pam , so pleased you had a better day yesterday , John has had his appointment through regarding his memory problem for the 14th Sept , it can't come quick enough for me i tell you , i do hope they can give him some medication to help .It is very hard following him around making sure he turns taps off and takes the plug out of the sink , yesterday he left the front door keys in the lock a visitor to the flats kindly knocked on and handed them to me , it saddens me to see he can't handle his money anymore and tell the right time .
Andrew and Helen are away to the caravan today , hoping to spend the week if Andrew is well enough, he has another scan coming up on the 4th sept .
Mary is still waiting for the date her treatment starts .
I had a letter from the Housing asking me if i had thought to buy a mobile walker that is lighter than the one i have as it maybe easier to handle getting in through the door , what ? the one i bought was nearly £100 , they are working with a wage , we are not ,i could not possibly afford to buy another one .
Anyway enough of my problems Pam , i hope you have a very good day and will echo you again today as i have taken up enough space.
Hugs to all my besties , poorly and missing friends .

What a great fun card today, it made me smile when it popped up. I think it was the look on the cats face and the lace Mat, my gran used to love them and I've got them in a box safe and sound. Mine are a little more modern but I respect the hours that were spent crocheting them. I like the hand sanitiser trick, it makes great water. Thank you for sharing.
