For You

Hi there my crafty friends!  Back to the Vintage Handbag set for today's card offering.  I cut the decorative base die from the Prism Striplet three times across a piece of coconut white card to create the background.  I backed it with Silver mirror card.  Next I cut the Sumatra die outer shape in black as the back mat of the focal element.  I cut a smaller white one and added it and then layered up the Java die in white.  I cut the Vintage Handbag in silver mirror card and backed it in black.  I added it to the centre of the layered mats.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the Stitched Flags, using a larger one as a mat in black.  I attached it to the left side of the card peeking out of the frame.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Squares Set A and B to create a black and white multi-layered frame for the card.  White, black and silver mirror card were used for mats and layers to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Yvonne, really, how did your boys end us with normal names . Hope your eyes are recovering well. Glad you are back.
Carmen, how sad you will feel that the Kid is leaving the team but I'm sure he will stay in touch with you all. Wish him good luck in his job, hope his health continues to be good and that his new colleagues are some way to being as you as his present ones .
CraftySueToo, I'm not surprised the SML team didn't show their nasty arrogant faces. What goes around comes around and one day someone will do it to them too. They are behind you now, happy times ahead.
Bejay, you amaze me, the things you can turn your head too but please be careful. Hope the arm us not too bad.
Elaine hope Andrews treatment goes well, will be thinking of him.

  8. Morning Sue. Absolutely lovely. The little handbag is now the focal point that can be seen and not fighting to be noticed like in last week's sample. There's something quite powerful and striking about today's gifts, I'm not sure if it's the colourful choices or the selection of dies you've used, but it's a really really lovely samples, you maybe showcasing your vintage handbag here but the samples as a whole is stunning.
Sending much love n hugs and wishing you a good day xxx

  14. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, gosh I like this card especially the effect of the striplet background, looks like a quick and easy card to make too, going to try this one.

Pam as always I reiterate all you have said, I just went over the past couple of days comments and it really is lovely to see such friendly and awe inspiring comments, Sue you have a wonderful bog family here - but you knew that already didn't you. xx

Off to get my hair cut this morning, hope the rain holds off otherwise it will grow quicker (my mum always used to tell me and my sisters that if we got caught in the rain that our hair would grow quickly - and we used to believe her - ha ha!! )

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  60. Dear Sue and the Rest of You,

I'm with Izzy about the great Sumatra/Java combo, and with Marianne's Craftroom on how everything pops forward from that fab background, and with BridgetCG about it being a stylish design.

Unlike almost everybody, I'm a little standoffish about the handbag. I'd use something else, a flower, heart or sentiment, I guess. Or whatever the person's symbol is, like butterfly, cat, flip-flops, dragonfly, lizard, bunny, pineapple, etc.

This was an exciting entry. Very clever how the Prism Striplet seemed to make a big X with it's center covered by the focal element.

Carman, so sorry about the Kid. Do you think he needs to get away from so many people who expect him to be a courageous hero all the time? Maybe he'd rather be human and complain? Or maybe he needed better benefits? Yes, sad for you, probably good for him. I hope you'll send him off with our best wishes too.

Rosemary Powell, I want you to know that it feels so good to get love and hugs from you. Love and hugs to you, too, Rosemary. Thank you!

And oh my goodness, you are one lucky ducky, Bejay. Not just for your wound being relatively small, considering the circumstances, but like you said, that it came after you finished almost all the work. Whew, it scares me to think how close you came to disaster.

And finally, can we all learn from Yvonne's experience: Never store glitter above eye level. (But picturing you in protective craft room goggles did make me smile! Good one, whoever said that.)

Wow, how did it get to be Thursday already? I barely finished complaining about it being Monday. This must be why people have to retire. Time gets going so fast, there isn't room for 8 hours a day at work.

Enjoy your day, all you dear hearts.

    Love,
    Donita

  75. Have already emailed Sue, but just to say am taking a crafting break. Have had no broadband or landline for some time so couldn't leave comments (a savvy engineer found squirrels had been biting through telephone wires!) It made us get on with some vital work, both in our half-renovated house and also some extra things animal-wise.
Thanks for all the friendship and sharing laughter and tears and big hugs for number one - Pam.
Final words on Yeti - he will now let me stroke him at feeding times, without striking back - well, most of the time. You will no doubt be relieved that this is the end of the animal stories lol !!
Hope all of our poorly ones and carers get the good news they so need and sending happy wishes.

Beautiful card with a great design;feminine and elegant.Love all the dies you have used to create this card.Thank you for the inspiration.

Dear friends, the Kid found a job in his field Business management. He’s very excited about this opportunity, but sad that he is leaving us. As we are on shut down next week and many are not in, we will have a farewell lunch tomorrow in the office lunchroom. We are happy for him, except our GM . You should be naive to believe that a young person will stay in a job with no opportunities for ever. It’s time for this Kid to move on with his life, to try new things. If not now, then when?

He says Hi and Thank you for the good wishes to you all. He wishes to everyone to be happy and healthy and sends to you all crafty hugs.

A big hug from me as well.

  102. Another lovely card Sue and I actually have some of these dies. I would love to dash to my craft room and start finding the right dies but unfortunately my house has just gone on the market and I am in the horrible process of sorting and packing. I live alone and have passed my 86th birthday so I'm not getting on with it very fast. My house agent actually suggested that I keep the house tidy for viewings and I haven't learned how to do these crafty things and keep tidy at the same time. Anyone out there with any suggestions.
I make a point of reading most of the comments daily whatever else is on my agenda for the day.
    Love to all.
