Make A Splash

Hi bloggers!  I have a fun gel filled water card for you today!  You need to fill your treat cup with gel first.  I used hand sanitizer for this as it is clear and gives you some tiny bubbles which are really cute with the underwater look.  You need to add glue to the outside edge of the cup lip and add your acetate and allow it to dry very well.  It takes days for the glue to turn clear because there isn't anything for it to absorb in to.  If you put the glue too close to the inside of the cup, it will get into the gel and it makes it cloudy, just beware.  Once the glue sealing your acetate on your treat cup has dried thoroughly, you can use it.  I used the inside cutting circle from the Fishbowl to create the opening in the card.  Next I stamped around the edge using one of the phrases from the Fishbowl Friends clear stamp set.  I inked the edges with Aqua Adirondack ink.  I placed the treat cup through the opening and taped the lip to the back of the card.  I cut the Fishbowl die in aqua card and glued it around the treat cup on the front of the card.  Next I create the scene for behind the treat cup by stamping the fish and treasure chest from the same stamp set.  I coloured them with Distress markers and added some seaweed die cuts.  I glued this piece so it showed through the treat cup.  I completed the card with a black mat and white pierced layers and mats.  The finished dimensions are  5 1/2" x  6 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Beautiful card Sue, gorgeous. Such fun.
Elaine, hope Andrew is feeling okay after his treatment, my fingers are tightly crossed fir his appointment with the Consuktant, some good news would be really welcome.
CreweTrish, hugs for you and your brother. My prayer is that they will be able to help him.
Maureen, George is such a gem working whilst you sit in the sun. I need a George I think. I hope you are starting to feel a bit more comfortable now.
Well today is the day, the notes arrived yesterday, 20 mins before I finished work, all wrong so I had to sit and correct them and then forward the copies to everyone involved. We have a meeting at 9, my manager has been saying she made her decision 2 weeks ago but will tell me at the meeting. They do like to twist the knife. It shocked her when I told her about the nurses thoughts and I have asked the union to look into it. I have a new colleague sitting next to me and she also has a chest infection, 7 weeks now and not responding to meds and inhalers, hers too started after the office moves and she is a lot younger than me and has never had this before.
Thank you all for your caring good wishes, believe me, they really do help.
Daily hugs to all, where are our missing friends, extra hugs fir our poorly friends and their carers.

  5. Morning Sue. What a fun collection of dies and stamps. I really enjoyed watching this sample unfold the last time you demo'd live, and yet again Andy and I was amazed how realistic the hand gel looked - a real fun card and collection of dies etc. One card I did see on SWCE fb page was a member did a fantastic card using your SB frame and little fish and made an entire fish tank looking card it was amazing, this is what you do Sue, you give us the tools and inspiration to let our brains go wild with all sorts of ideas (well that's if you have the artistic brain to even start with) So well done you for making us smile and for helping us make others smile when they receive a card made with your wonderful dies and stamps.
All that is well worth love n hugs from me as usual. Have a great day xxx

Pam I do hope it goes well for you today, it sounds like there has got to be something in the air there which is causing this especially as there is another person sitting next to you who is having the same problems, after 7 weeks the meds should have kicked in by now so something is drastically wrong. I hope healthy and safety will be represented at the meeting this morning too.

I also reiterate everything that Pam has said.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  71. Hi, Sue,
What a cute card and how easy to make with the treat cups. I've made a gel card before using blue hair gel inside a resealable bag and used dolphins behind it. Apart from having to wait a while for the glue to dry, this way of making them seems a LOT easier, and what a good idea to use the hand sanitiser for the clear look...love the bubbles you got trapped in the gel😊.

  76. Hello Sue,
Great fun card today which will appeal to lots of people. I'd be tempted to write "The one that didn't get away" beside it!!
Pam, I hope things are o.k. after your meeting, and the new worker's breathing problems will enhance your case. Does your manager get to work on a broomstick by any chance.
Alimecca, I'm coming on leaps and bounds - not literally of course ha ha. I've done some dusting today although George was out and doesn't know. There's no chance that he'll notice as he doesn't see dust or crumbs!!!! Hopefully I'll be able to do a bit more each day as it's 4 weeks since I fell and did the deed ha ha.
Pat L, George is a saint and it's not fair that he was landed with me, but that was his choice and he's never been very lucky lol. How is Sarah, I often think of her.
Elaine, I'm booking our trip and organising some skis to be fitted to our zimmers, oh this should be fun!! Hope all is well with the family.
Laine, I hope you are missing for some other reason than illness.
Maria, hopefully the needles have worked and you are not still in so much pain.

  84. Good afternoon/evening Sue and the WIlsonettes,
harry is quite into Jake and the pirates Sue so i wonder if i could include Jake into this card with the pirates treasure in it for his birthday and because he will be turning two next month, the squishiness will be right up his street. I think goldfish is the nearest he is going to get to having a pet of his own as his father seems to be under the misapprehension that he is allergic to all dogs. Hmmm? things could change. Thank you flower for a happy wake up to Wilson.
Well i have been at the hospital for my chest xray and O.H. is on his way back from his stent op that he went for today. It was suppose to be a angiagram with the stent as a possiblity but the doctor said one chamber was so badly gunged up it had went from being a thumb in diamenter to a little pinky so was just as well getting that done at same time. He did say that if he had had to wait he might not have made it to this being an option (insurance policies put away again)shucks. Maybe they will have given him a personality transplant while he was under(one can live in hope here). When i was in the old Stirling royal Infirmary this morning i met a childhood friend who has been in for the last 7 months because of bad circulation in her leg. They have since had to remove her leg from above the knee so she is moving to a specially adapted wee bunglelow sorted for her getting around on in her chair. It was so nice being able to catch up with her even if it was under horrible circumstances but this will be a nice new start for her and her wee dog if her mammy decides to give her back after looking after her for the last 7months. I've told Aud that i will be back to see her and soon, need to make her a new home card anyway, lol.
Ok i suppose i better get organised for auld crabbit features coming back so i will say bye for now, hugs to all my lovely Wilsonettes that need, want or could just do with some, they are yours for the taking
    love and crafty hugs

  87. Hi Sue,

What a fun card today! Love it! It will make a great b-day card for a kid. I believe that even a fisherman (I have 3 in my family) with a great sense of humor will be happy to get a card like this. For an adult, you can use a funny quote as a background or as a sentiment. Thanks for the inspiration.

Pam – I am speechless and shocked by your manager behaviour. Her treatment of you is unprofessional and hostile. You are right to make your health your priority. As I said before, it is good you have a union. Hopefully the rep will be able to help you. Good luck!
Elaine - Hope Andrew is feeling okay after his treatment. Hugs for you all.
Bejey - I like the idea of using blue hair gel. Thanks.
