Extended Background Card

Hi crafters!   Today's video shows you how to extend a background and it also uses the 3D Window/Door as a background, showing it's wonderful versatility!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Oh this card is gorgeous Sue, lovely. Julia's show last night was great. I love to watch her demo your beautiful dies. She did make me laugh with Alex and the card colours.
Jan D thanks for your tip, think your sticky was similar to what Julia used.
Elaine, hope Andrew and Helen have recovered now. You made me laugh about John, sure proof that his cataracts are bad enough to have his eyes done, you should tell them that one.
Maureen, George is a treasure, you just use this time to get yourself fit again.
Yvonne, you are really struggling at the moment Hun, lots of hugs to boost you up.
Pat, the waiting to find out what the hospital will do is always the worst, I hope that your husband is comfortable, good that he us pain free, how are you coping, please take care.
Well, sorry but nothing to report, nothing was said at work yesterday, they seem to have adopted an ostrich stance, head in the sand, hope it goes away, they are starting to aggravate me now . If nothing is said today I will speak to the union again.
Laine, where are you, missing you.
Hugs to all, special ones for poorly and missing friends, extra ones for their carers too.

Great video for a lovely card, the mocha colours really stand out and give it a modern look, plenty of glitter too -always a plus !!
Your little flowers look so good, just a little special touch, have a plastic bag with some of the little flowers from the delicate garden frame so now have an idea of how to use them too

  7. Morning Sue. Oh this is absolutely gorgeous and look forward to watching your inspirational tutorial. Feeling shocked as terrorists have struck and killed 19 injured 59 half an hour from where we live. Unfortunately we've been saying it's just a matter of time before they struck Manchester and they have. A concert venue full of children !!! How could they ???

Oh Pam I do hope things get settled soon, this waiting is awful.

I reiterate everything that Pam has said above.

I would just like to offer my sincere condolences to the families of everyone who were killed or injured in Manchester last night. These people responsible are pure evil.

  9. Dear Sue and Friends,

That was fun! It must look stunning in person. I haven't taken the plunge into the Noble sets yet. Hard to decide which to get first, and they cost so much!

That trick with the panes of the window and door die is so helpful. Thank you again, Sue, for being so generous with your ideas.

Elaine, I really liked the story about your husband opening the oven door to put clothes in.

I'm hoping to catch a little of Julia on Hochanda online.

  47. Morning Sue,

A stunning card and a well informative video. Good ideas to keep us thinking outside the box with the added door frame a bonus thought.

Our weekly walks have started again with Rosie and myself making a visit to Steart
Marshes, a WWT operated site only a 15 minute drive away for us. A blazing hot sun and a gentle warm breeze to cool us down as we wandered around for over 2 hours just observing the wildlife and admiring the flora. Bull rushes are now shedding their woolly winter jackets to reveal their gorgeous chocolate brown spears. All manner of wild flowers are showing off their delightful colours, some muted like the Vetch and the brilliant vibrant yellow of Buttercups. Reeds and grasses abound everywhere and I do like the living willow windbreak fences planted last year that are just springing into life. The Marshes are well visited by many walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. Paths are signposted for each category with some not accessible when the nesting season is in full flood. Dogs are welcome too with one difference, NO poo bins. Each owner is expected to take their doggy doo bags home with them, a great idea I think as the cost to the WWT would be enormous otherwise to empty the bins and the disposal of the contents.

Healing prayers and gentle hugs for our poorly friends and their families.
    Love 7 hugs

  73. Good afternoon Sue and the crafty Wilsonettes,
I like the white and black monochrome look of this card Sue as for me there is not too much black in it, but just the right amount for contrast. I love the wee butterflies on it as it just adds that bit of something that was missing. THank you Sue for a lovely card but such a shame is an accurate colour for the carnage and murders that have taken place last night. Bairns out enjoying what the world has to offer them, who should have a whole lifetime of wonderful such experiences ahead of them, but for the callousness and heartless of mainiacs. Heartfelt prayers go out to all that has been affected and caught up in this attrocity.
Sending hugs to all that need, want or could just do with them especially today,
