Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Just one post for today, but at least it is a card giveaway day!  I used a piece of blush card and embossed it with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder for background texture.  Next I used the Double Pierced Noble Squares to make a multi-layered frame out of both black and coconut white card.  I decided to fill my frame with a wreath made from the Striped Nasturtium flowers.  I made nine flowers of them of varying sizes by cutting the solid die in black and adding the outline die cut in white.  Each flower was made by cutting two of the same sized flowers and offsetting them, then adding stamens to the centres for interest.  I attached all the flowers in a wreath shape in the frame and added a sentiment that was cut out with the Pierced Flags die set.  I finished them off with a blush seam binding bow on the side.  I added a black crystal sparkler and a couple of matching stick pins as embellishments.  White, black and blush mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished size is 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like a chance to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Beautiful card for our back to normal day after the launch. Stunning ring of flowers.
You must be very happy Sue that your new collection has been such a resounding success, all credit is due to you.
Laine, Hapoy to hear Mum is home and okay, she will probably be tired fir a few days, make her take it easy.
Work is work I'm afraid, they talk the talk big style but they don't walk the walk and it doesn't help that some managers seem to enjoy the process as a way if beating the staff, what a way to run an organisation.
Lots of comments asking occasional bloggers to make it a regular visit, please pop in daily, it would mean so much to Sue to get the ratings back up, we don't bite and we love new people commenting along with us.
Hugs to all, especially Maureen and Geirge, CraftySuetoos Mum and all if our poorly and missing friends, we miss you.

It was such a lovely launch and I only hope you enjoyed reading the many many comments that you deserve - not only at launch though ! Hoping you are feeling better now than you did, you must have been thoroughly exhausted by the time AP came round again.

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes, mam is still in hospital but finally had an MRI scan yesterday so we're just waiting for results.
Pam, sometimes I wonder whether managers bother to engage their brain and consider circumstances, or if they are just ticking boxes! Hope that you're feeling better though.
Sending special wishes to anyone in pain or caring for a loved one, hugs to all. Sue xxx

  13. Good morning Sue,
What a stunning card for your giveaway this week, just gorgeous. I love the colours and great to see bows and stick pins making a comeback. I have had to sit up with my poorly dog again for most of the night, but took the opportunity to look back through your past blog posts and I am amazed at the wonderful inspirational cards you have shown us over the years. I enjoyed the quiet time to relax and look at them without interruption. I drank coffee and watched the daylight arrive and the beautiful sunrise, although cold it is a lovely start to the day.
I have decided to spend the day making cards, if I can stay awake and today's card is one I am going to try and emulate.
Your new collection of dies are fabulous and I always think that they can't get better, but they do and I love them all.

Ohhh I really like this one! Why didn't I think of making a wreath card using a square Die to get the nance and shape right! ?? I have all the Dies for this one but not the EF . Really love this card and it's good to see the stick pins and bow make a return apprearance! Yes please, I'd love to win this beauty. I don't know anyone who wouldn't love it!

  143. I've seen the Nasturtiums used on a lot of your cards, Sue. I have been putting off getting them as I wanted the Noble Collection of Ornate Frames so badly. Now that I have the frames, I can work on getting the Nasturtiums. I also love your card and need to try using the pearlized paper that you mention a lot. My cards are much simpler than your's but I get so many compliments on them from using your dies. Your dies are gorgeous and make such pretty cards all on their own. Thank you for designing such lovely dies. I can't wait for your April release to reach the stores here in the U.S.

"Ring around the Roses, A Pocket full of Posies". Sorry, this phrase just came to me as I viewed today's card with visions of playtime during Brownie Scouts - more than a half century ago! Lovely card today with a dramatic flare with the use of these colors. I really like blush card, but it has been hard to find the last couple of years. So glad I have recently found some blush card in regular and heavy weight card stock. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I enjoyed your latest show on Hochanda. Your kitty-cat is so cute peeking behind your fish bowl. Great idea using hand sanitizer for a water look to the treat cups.

  155. Hello Sue,

What a heavenly wreath of nasturtiums on your lovely card for your giveaway today. It will certainly make someone's day if they are the winner. Your design and color combination are simple but yet very pretty.

I hope that today is a little less hectic for you now that the launch is over. What a wonderful week it was of seeing your new dies and fantastic creations. But most important, thank you for sharing with all of us.

    Have a wonderful day.

  157. Hi Sue,

So great how you made this wreath with those beautiful flowers! I have loved these flowers from the first time I set eyes on them! That why I bought this set of dies. They are so delicate and pretty and complete beautifully every card they are used on. Although I am not a fan of black on the cards, the nasturtiums are beautiful in the black and white. The beautiful blossom pink really shows them off to their full beauty.

I hope you were pleased at the response from your new launch, it is a huge success to me.

Laine - Pleased everything went as planned for your Mum. Broadchurch … yes, all of them look guilty.Ed-probably was framed by the one who did it; Jim & Ian –I ruled them out. Who is left? Leo & Lucas so far. The socks indicate Leo, the keys – Lucas. I can’t wait to watch the next episode on Sunday.I am pretty sure that the one who did it is not Leo or Lucas. There will be a twist, for sure.
Myra / Patricia – Thanks for the update. Sending to Maureen a big hug.
For all new / occasional bloggers – I am new, too. As Pam mentioned, they don't bite, so here I am still alive and one piece, after 2 months posting my comments every day (long or short, depends of my time and my mood). You’ll find many friends here. You can interfere or not in people’s comments, but for sure you’ll have fun reading what we posted. I love reading all the comments they cheer me up now end every day. I agree with Pam & Denise T, it doesn’t take long to leave a comment. If you really enjoyed the blog launch, to leave a few words it is the easiest and simplest way to help Sue to get the rating back up. Hope to see you all back.
To all fellow Canadians – Please pop in daily, I don’t have to be the only Canadian Wilsonette.

Huge disappointment – the only Canadian store that I found, didn’t advertise Sue’s new collection of dies and stamps at all. They don’t even offer these new products yet. I am waiting patiently my order from UK to come.

    Hugs for all bloggers.
Still a newbie to Craft / Hopefully not longer the newest, or the only Canadian Wilsonette

Such a beautiful card, once again you have inspired me. I have the nasturtiums flower die but wouldn't have thought to use them in this way, they make a stunning wreath. Nice to see a messy bow and stick pins. Hope the trade show is going well. Congratulations on a fantastic launch week.

Pam managers are a breed unto themselves. Don't let them bring you down!
CraftySue I hope all is well with your mum's MRI scan and you get her back home very soon.

Just a quick comment, having a tough day with a migraine:-( I just wanted to congratulate Sue on the success of the launch and compliment her on the timeless beauty of today's card....my most favourite samples always include elements such as flowers, stick pins and ribbon so I am really impressed by your choice for today. Good luck ladies and Rolfi in the draw, I exclude myself on the grounds of greed:-)

  169. Hi Sue. Oooooh what a gorgeous card !!! I really love this card !!! It's Stunning !!! I love everything about it. The blush background and Embossing Folder is lovely but your Nasturtium flowers are most definately the star of this gorgeous card. I did not think I would like flowers made in black card but with the white outline dies over the top they just look absolutely stunning. I love the beautiful wreath you have made with them. The pierced flag die is the perfect die to accommodate your sentiment and I love the ribbon and fabulous stick pins. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous card today.
Congratulations to you Sue on your amazing new die release. I, personally, have loved everything you have shown us. So much so that I don't know where to start !!! You should be very proud of yourself. You have done a wicked job !!!
I very much enjoyed your Hochanda show to. Some beautiful cards and ideas and fab demo's too !!! I know I shouldn't have but I just could not resist your one day special. I can't wait for the dies to arrive so I can start playing with them. (I had been patiently waiting for these dies to appear on Hochanda. It was not an all of a sudden thing.) I am hopefully going to make two Fathers Day cards with them to begin with. I loved all your ideas, especially the crackle glaze technique you used. Very clever !!!

Pam - I just do not understand the mentality of some employers and it seems the larger the organisation the worse they seem to be. I have always been so lucky. It would seem that staff morale is not important these days which makes no sense to me at all. Hope you're OK x
