Just For You

Hi bloggers!  I  just love to bring out the custard coloured card from time to time and I think it works so well with this card!  I started by embossing a piece of custard card with the Double Pierced Noble Rectangles and embossing it with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder.  I cut the Radiance Striplet in white and nipped it in half and used it at the top and bottom centre of the card above and below the focal element.  I cut the Geneva die in white, and added mounting foam to it.  I cut the inside decorative portion of the die in white and backed it with custard card and cut the centre out.  I added mounting foam to it as well.  I cut the smallest die in the set and backed it in custard card.  I layered up all the pieces and recessed the smallest die cut into the centre.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out and added it to the centre of the card.  Using the Exquisite Poppy die set, I cut several out of vellum and made three flowers of varying sizes.  I seated them in opposite corners of the frame and added a ribbon bow as an accents.  The final touch was a pearl swirl in the other corners.  White on white mats finished the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Until then I will just have to keep admiring the samples and pinning all the inspiration you share that use these dies. This is just one other gorgeous work of art to ogle at. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a stunner today Sue, love the custard colour and the way you have made this card, the flowers look really good with the custard and pearl centres, finishes the card off a treat.

My granddaughter was so thrilled with her Candy Machine card yesterday, she was up at 5 all excited about her birthday, her Mum picked up the parcel from the Post Office whilst she was at school and her little face when she opened it was such a delight and well worth it. Saying that the candy machine is not hard to make at all really, and the instructions are inside the packet too. I managed to get some I think they are called 'millions' (little tiny chewy sweets) to go inside it, they worked a treat.

Pam thank you so much for your kind comments about the card I made for my twins and b-i-l anniversary, on fb, it was a labour of love and was so well received.

Elaine, give Andrew and Helen a special hugs, it can only get better now.

I reiterate everything that Pam has said above.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue,

Gorgeous card and beautiful dies to show it off.

Oooh custard card, along with peach it is a favourite of mine. Although saying that why is there a shortage of peach card these days? So many colours with strange names are appearing but still no peaches.

Going to Hollywood Bowl to celebrate my eldest daughter's birthday tonight. That is one venue that appeals to us all and we have a lovely family get together. Great granddaughter Milly-May, almost two, is coming as well so it will be very interesting to see what she makes of it all.

Gentle hugs and little prayers sent to those who need them.

Dear Sue and Wilsonettes,

I haven't posted lately because every night I see the blog and put more stuff on my order. After this week, I'm so sold on the exquisite poppies, plus gilding polish, Jacobean and dot matrix embossing folders, iced snow, Madison Square, the other two Pacific Ocean islands and another California. So glad I already have Calabria.

Well, I found my kitchen, and after that the craft room, and my cleaning angel found my dining room table under the remains of the frenzy of Christmas cards, thank you cards and 100+ cards for my Dad to send. He has asked for more Get Well and Sympathy sentiments,(he's 85, and most people he knows are up there too) so I've also ordered those. I gave him blank-inside cards with relatively simple fronts and lots of loose sentiments on tags and ovals that he can stick on with the mounting foam dots I gave him. He sent me a newspaper clipping inside one of those cards, and I liked it! Although I had envisioned it as a sympathy or thinking of you in your time of sorrow.

Sue and Pam, I was thinking of you as you marked your loss anniversaries. When we are young, they don't tell us that if we're lucky, we will live long enough to lose people we love beyond words.

Could you design a kinetic that can dispense hugs, emotional comfort, healing energy and palpable prayers to help ease emotional pain? That would be a treat cup that would sell out no matter how often you resupplied.

Off subject, but today I got an unexpected package from my mother's sister, who is 77. It was a quilt she made for me from fabric Mom had collected (Mom was a hoarder, although a very tidy and organized one). Dad gave the fabric and a sewing machine to Juanita after Mom got dementia. Aunt Juanita made quilts for Mom, their widowed sister-in-law, Juanita's daughter and all of her granddaughters. And now me. (Mom and Juanita were Wilsons, btw, and I do have a cousin named Sue Wilson.) It's pieced in a sailboat design I've never seen before. I've posted a picture on my Facebook page, if you want to take a look. It kind of smells like my aunt, who must wear her perfume even when she's sewing.

Treat cups of emotional well-being to everyone.

Love,
Donita

Donita, what a lovely gift of a quilt with special memories. Made me smile saying you had a cousin called Sue Wilson. We had a joiner doing quite a lot of work for us last year. He was interested (briefly) on a tea break of what I was doing with my die cutting machine one day. So I got really excited explaining what it did and the dies I love to make cards with. I told him my favourite brand of die and how Sue has a blog showing samples everyday etc etc... he started to smile, then said that his wife was called Sue Wilson.

Hi Sue,

Lovely card for today. I love the Jacobean Floral embossing folder and the dies that you used. The combination custard and white is a winner for me. The card is elegant and clean and makes me feel like spring is coming ... one day in Toronto. For now it is -8 (feels -17), cloudy and we might get some snow...

Pam – Thank you again for the daily summery.
Stephanie Cotterill – I agree! It is no better way to start the day than visiting the BEST craft blog ever. I do it before work every day.
Elaine - I hope Andrew feels better soon. Hugs to both of you.
Cheryl – Happy belated b-day to your daughter. Hope you had a great time!
Donita – What a special gift from your Aunt. A real family heirloom.
Laine & PP/Yvonne – I’ll call 999 if you won’t be back here in a day or two! Hope both of you are fine, having long and pleasant conversations over the phone...

Happy weekend!

I really love the Geneva die. I use it in bits and pieces often and find it one of the most useful that I own. This card is so pretty and the buttery yellow is so nice for spring.

Hi Sue,

I love this card. I am not a fan on yellow however when in Spring with the yellow Spring flowers, yellow is one colour I do like, as long as its in Spring flowers etc.

When I saw this card at first glimpse, I thought it would be ideal for an Easter card. I love this shade of yellow.

Love Dorothy
