Best Wishes

Hi crafters!  I decided to create an autumnal sort of card using the Pacific Ocean Background.  I cut the outside decorative die out of milk card and backed it with vellum for a soft translucent look.  I cut the centre of it out and added mounting foam around the back to raise it. I added it to another piece of milk card that I pierced around the edge.  Next I cut the smaller decorative die out of milk card and backed it in milk and recessed it down into the centre of the outer frame.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it using the smallest section of the die and inked it with Baked Peach Colour Cloud through the die before removing it.  I added it with foam backing to the centre of the card.  Next I cut several of the Autumnal Leaves out of milk card.  I inked them with Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks.  I coated all the leaves with Clear Perfect Medium ink and covered them with clear embossing powder.  I heated the powder to melt, then repeated the process for a second coat to give them a glossy finish.  I attached the leaves in opposite corners and added a white satin ribbon bow and pearls.  I added a final milk mat to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 5 3/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  10. Morning Sue. The main body of the card is so beautiful and delicate a true Sue card and I'm sure most won't agree with my comment but I think the colour tone of the leaves is too harsh for the delicate colour of the main background they sit on, they are the first elements that jump out at you and distracts you from the beauty behind them. A beautiful card, but such a shame the leaves take over the show, maybe more subtle shades for the leaves may tone in better ?
Wish the news agencies etc would stop giving these evil terrorist's air time, they've done their worst, I don't want to imagin the other terrorists rubbing their hands together watching it all unfold thinking how well they've done, stop airing what happened yesterday don't give them the pleasure of seeing people re-live what happened minute after minute, and how the attacker was seen moving his arm in and out of his victim it's too much. My soap box has now been put away. So sorry Sue. Sending much love and hugs xxx 🌹

All well said Pam - echoing. Dreadful day in London.
Elaine, hoping that your husband's tests go well - so much to cope with. To give you some heart, Mr P has just been given his five year (from start) oncology all-clear, had many times like Andrew when treatment couldn't go ahead and in fact wasn't expected to make it. But..... he is very thankful, as am I. Ran around like the proverbial headless chicken so many times!!

Elaine, so sorry to hear that you have yet more family problems. Hope everything went ok yesterday. Whatever happens you will cope. God does only give you what you can cope with but it can be very hard at times.
My grandchildren are Jools Elijah aged 4, India Anais aged 2 and the baby is Lola Emerald. Lola was given the all clear with her hip so good news but now India has gone down with chicken pox. She was delighted as she likes to copy everything her big brother does!

  48. Hi Sue,

Are we looking back to Autumn with this card or looking forward to it?...lol...I love using leaves on cards especially for the males in the family so I think as Spring has just begun I'd use yellow greens at this time of the year but this card does highlight how versatile your background dies are, separating the decorative elements with plain outer cutting edges gives the card so much interest and layering possibilities and that's down to your brilliant designing...

One of the craft websites is teasing with a link to take us to your new launch but when I clicked on it I was greeted by a message telling me I had to wait a little longer. My levels of excitement peak at a much higher level than anything else when your new dies are concerned. And I really do mean anything else Sue - you know what I mean x
Well I watched yesterdays horrific events unfold feeling shocked, angry and incredibly saddened. It is just beyond belief that such hate can fuel these animals to inflict such appalling suffering to innocent individuals. Events such as this do put things into perspective. It reminds us just how precious life love, family and friends are. Within the blink of an eye things can change and leave a heartbreaking mark in our lives. Each and every day is such a blessing and I really must try harder to appreciate the little things x

  93. Hello Sue,

I enjoyed the different techniques that you employed in your card today. The one you used with the leaves produced an effect that made the leaves very realistic. The coloring was perfect.
I also have been using vellum frequently as backing for my diecuts. I like the softness that it provides. That being said, I like several others would have liked to have seen something softer with the background today.

So sorry to hear the news from yesterday and hope that none of you were personally affected. It is sad what is happening in the world today.

It would make a fantastic card for males and the leaves could easily be substituted to something more feminine such as flowers or butterflies for the ladies in our lives. Many thanks Sue for another winnerxxx
Feeling slightly delirious with exhaustion tonight...i have no right to be because my day has been filled with pampering, i started with a Caci facial, quickly followed by a much needed wash and blow dry at my hairdresser yet i feel totally washed out??!!? Whose complaining though, I've got cheeks as tight as Kylie's bum and just as peachy, and my hair rivals the best work of Vidal Sassoon...when he was alive that is! I will now try to maintain its fabulousness for at least another day by lying in my bed like a corpse tonight afraid to move a muscle in case i flatten it:-)
I may joke but today and yesterday has been quite sobering and thought provoking, i watched yesterday afternoon as the terrible news broke and was filled with shock, sadness and anger that so many of us now live in fear of attack and are subjected to such evil atrocities. It makes you treasure your loved ones and my heart goes out to all the victims and their friends and families who could never have foreseen such a tragic turn of events. You never know where life's path will lead you, nothing can prepare you for this shocking turn of events...our emergency services and the brave passers by who risked their own life's to treat the wounded should be praised. My thoughts and prayers go to all of those touched by this sad event.
Bejay, happy birthday, i hope you had a lovely dayxxx
Sending hugs to all my besties, Pam, Pat, P, Maria,Myra,Maureen,SAba, Norah,June, Lynda,Wheely, Tracy, Frances, and anyone else i may have forgotten being semi lucid....oh, and i suppose Yvonne and Carmen though goodness knows why i bother:-)xxx

    Crafty love and hugs

  104. Hello Sue,
I'm sorry I'm late - been out today or " gadding!" as some call it!
I love today's card and it isn't long since I got the leaf Dies, which are beautiful. The close up photos show off the work you have done on the leaves perfectly! I'd be thrilled to receive this beauty anytime! I must try this although I don't have the colours you used. Many thanks!
Laine - I'm glad you are looking your glam and gorgeous self once again! We have to keep our standards up! When you get to my age you won't be able to go to bed never mind lying like a statue!
Pat L - Maureen and I were saying the other day that Sarah must go back to GOSH very soon? How is she getting on? Hope they will be able to do something to help this time! x
P - in Wales - great news! We like good news when at all possible! So happy for you.
Bejay - Happy Birthday - hope its been a good one!
Maria - I'm sorry - you asked the other day if a certain child still came to After School Club - well the answer is yes and no! At the moment she has been barred for bad behaviour! Sorry to take so long to reply! Are your eyes any better? Hope so! X
Take care Everyone - wherever you are,
    Love, Myra xx

  105. Hello Sue
Another Gorgeous card for us today, I don't know how you manage to come up with so many different ideas every day. I love your autumn leaves coloured with the Peeled paint and spiced Marmelade inks they really give this card the wow factor.

Bejay Happy Birthday i Hope you've enjoyed every minute of it.
"P" thank you for telling us your good news about Mr.P. It heartwarming to know he has done so well.
Elaine sending you a big hug just because I can!
June Horrocks you have every right to be proud of your daughter, our police force do an incredible job.
Laine I cannot begin to imagine what a Caci facial is, nor how you got your information about Kylies nether regions. What I would say though In German the little parcels which dog owners have to pick up is pronounced almost exactly the same as your facial treatment!

My thoughts and my prayers go out to all those innocent victims and their families affected by yesterday's senseless act of violence. The courage shown by the members of our emergency services and the general public who didn't hesitate to be there for those in need reiterates for us all there is still goodness in our world despite the evil which was amongst us yesterday. May goodness and peace prevail.
    God bless you all.
    Saba.

  106. Beautiful card Sue. Do love your Pacific Ocean dies and this background one is a stunner. Like a few other ladies, my preference would be for a more softer look than the leaves but it's still a lovely card.
Thoughts and prayers for all those families affected by yesterday's terrible events.
    Great news Mr P. Xx
