  3. Morning Sue,
I was going to make a retail therapy card for my friend's birthday in February, when I'll be sunning myself in the Caribbean - lucky me! This card will be perfect - just enough glitz without being over the top. Love it.

  11. Beautiful girly card Sue, I made two similar to this for my daughter and my niece who were both 42 in December. They both adored their cards. Like you said this could be given to any age.
Today I will be looking after my granddaughter who doesn't go back to school until
tomorrow. She loves all craft and today she wants me to help her with some sewing - she had a little sewing machine for Christmas (she is 8)

  15. Wonderful fun card, Sue, love all the little extra touches and the sentiment is perfect! Frame great - yes, just one chance to lay it down right which is usually my downfall lol. Thanks for the video inspiration.
Made your Shimmering Tree yesterday as a sympathy card - all white but with gilding flakes, wrought iron fence for more formality, a few fallen leaves and some seagulls soaring. Didn't stick the leaves, only the trunk and branch, so the leaves are sticky uppy and dimensional. So pleased with it, thanks to your dies. Also did a lattice window one, cream and chocolate with sunray EF and a poppy spray.
Laine and PP, always a joy to read your nonsense, keep it coming. Laine, you were never destined to get the scabbies right!
Hugs to all esp Elaine and Tina x 2.

  16. Morning Sue. Will catch up with the tutorial when and if time permits later after only just thawing out from returning home yesterday. I was lucky to receive this set at Christmas along with your other shadow box accessorie die collections. A wee bit tiny for my stupid fingers to hold comfortably but where there's a will there's a way, maybe watching you may give me tips how to work with them easier. All in all a fantastic girly work of art.

  30. I am so not a girly girl! All that stuff scares me! Especially high heels, can't walk in them! My first shadow box should be almost here -- the garden Thank You. Meanwhile today I went into factory mode cutting the stuffed animals in pastels and then piles and piles of greenery, some of it in white. That started because I discovered I DID have the pine branches to make a wreath from the twig wreath. Really like the Platinum because the base stays put and you can shift the angle of what's going through. That helps when cutting a lot. For the stuffed animals, I really wish I had the pierced circles, but maybe I'll be able to do something with the shadow box. When does the January launch usually start? Just wondering how long we'll have to keep holding our breath.
Happy first day back to work for the New Year!

  72. Hi Sue,
I really MUST get a shadow box die Set this year as they are so much fun. This one would suit my sister, I remember quite a few years ago now, she dragged me to Southampton shoe shopping. We went into EVERY shoe shop in town only to end up, four hours later, in the first shop we'd visited, buying the first pair she tried on lol. I'm not too sure which die Set to start with though, I like the garden one and, of course, the Christmas one. Maybe this year I'll impress all my neighbours by making them a shadow box Christmas card😊.

This year is off to a good start with the lovely cards you're choosing to share with us, Sue. I'm really looking forward to your blog every day.
    Happy crafting, everyone.

So sorry to have been absent for so long I will try and remedy that from now on.
I hope everyone who celebrates it had a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year. I did and have been very lucky that my Fibro let me get on with things in the run up to the big day. New year's eve was spent at my bestest buddies and was great fun. Then New Year's day the cold that had been threatening for a while decided to come out properly. Of course that means my voice is awol.
Anyway I look forward to hearing everyone's news.

Fabulous, frivolous, feminine, glitzy, gorgeous and glamorous - but that's enough about you and me Sue!! Lol. Today's card is quite good as well x
I love ALL the shadow boxes and I have ALL the shadow boxes as well as ALL of the accessories. They are so useful and of course with the Wilson touch they can make a card truly delicious x
I have used all of the frames with other dies in my collection that have been unused and have even resurrected my punches. I have also used the elements that you give us Sue as stand alone accents on other cards. I love them and have my fingers tightly crossed that there will be more additions to this brilliant range for many more launches to come, (oh and I haven't forgotten a die called Yvonne) x
If anyone is sitting on the fence re the shadow boxes take a leap of faith and go for it. Honestly, you won't regret it - they are so cool x
So, 3rd January and Jake has gone back to work so it's time to try and make this place look like more of a civilised home rather than a squat! For those of you who are curious - I did make a card yesterday so everything else was neglected. I am very proud of myself that my first card of the year was neither reject or orphan and what's more I went freestyle!! Of course Sue dies were heavily involved but thanks to the help of Maggie, the Beaded Swirl and Exquisite Poppies I managed to produce something half decent x
It was lovely being back in my crafty place just playing and I am eager to continue this industrious attitude but it will have to be put on hold for today. I really do need to see what is lurking underneath the devastation which has been left behind following the festive period x
Tina T - so pleased that Peter is home x
June - if in doubt - shadow box it. They make the most amazing age cards x
P - how very dare you - nonsense??!!! Scintillating and intelligent if you please x
It is another blue sky, fluffy cloud, sunny day although frosty and very chilly. In my past life I would have been briskly walking at least 5 miles, a hobby which I really miss. Never mind - marathon card making is now my aim x
Apologies for my mindless waffling. I am who I am and my chatty nature spills out on the blog. If I can make just one person smile then what's the harm? Just scroll past my comments if you think they are too long x
I am sending happy thoughts and oodles of love to everyone especially all my lovely blog bantering besties - you know who you are x

This is not one of my personal favourites (I can't walk in heels besides which I would look like a potato walking on pins lol) but I know several people that it would suit perfectly. Love the way you created the glittered frame, must remember this and the shoes really look like patent leather.

  112. Hello Sue.

Great Card. I love the shadow boxes, the retail therapy die set doesn't do anything for me but I will use the colour scheme for other shadow box designs. Thanks for sharing.

    Best wishes

  113. Hello Sue,
Are you ready for this! I've watched the video , Pinned the card and it isn't evening yet!
I really love the card! I succumbed a while back and bought the gardening shadow box set with the girlie things to give me versatility! A friend bought be the stitched animals so I'm thrilled with all of them! I would love to have today's card! I'm quite of shoes and bags. Bags - now there's a thought!! Great tips on making the bottles look like glass! Genius! I have used the black gloss card for shoes as they look so elegant! Good tip too on sticking down the thinner frame before the glitter process!
Speaking about glitter - a friend's husband who is in hospital had glitter on his chin when she visited also his pyjama top! On further questioning - as they say - it was discovered he had enjoyed a cupcake with edible glitter icing! Lol!
Tina - thank you for letting us know Peter is home!
Yvonne - I'm so glad I wasn't drinking my coffee when I read the scintillating/ intelligent sentence!! I know it's true of course! I'm sure Laine can add a few more !!
Love to the lovely ladies on this blog!
    Thanks Sue, love Myra xxx

  114. I just love this card. I've got the die & it's going to be my next make. The Shadow Box concept is so terrific as it looks fantastic, but is actually quite easy to make. The glitter on this one does it for me - I love anything sparkly!!! Thanks Sue xx

  124. I love your shadow boxes/dies and the shoes are gorgeous bringing back memories of tottering around onheels, smiling as I tried to convince my father that they were much more comfortable than the flat, laced up shoes he would have me wear. (The sheer pleasure they gave you when removed after a long night dancing)
Will watch the video later when the last of our visitors depart. Hugs xxx P Austen

  128. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Wow! This card is right up my street...shopaholic?Who me? I really enjoyed the demo, full of fantastic hints and tips as always. What a great idea creating the illusion of glass with blue pencil and glossy accents, and i just loved the silk glittered frame it really complimented the soft blush card. This theme would be perfect for teenage girls, or those among us who enjoy a bit of retail therapy. Your shadow box concept has been an absolute triumph, the accessories collection includes a rich and varied choice for even the fussiest of crafters or recipients and i would highly recommend investing in them....i have all of the collection apart from the most recent additions but i will most definitely remedy that very soon. Thanks for providing me will my most enjoyable ten mins of the day Sue, you're a star:-)
Don't you just hate the week after Christmas? After all the excitement of the prezzies, the copious amounts of food and alcohol consumed and the steady stream of family and friends has receded we are left with the prospect of cleaning, tidying and taking down the decorations which have been hiding a multitude of sins....where does all that dust and glitter come from in the space of a fortnight i ask myself? I avoided taking the decorations down in favour of hoovering and steaming the wooden floors but it will have to be tackled soon lest i incur the wrath of whoever says we have twelve days to do so....who needs another year like the last!
So, i havent been anywhere near my craft room of late never mind made my first card of 2017...well done Yvonne, i am super impressed but I'm guessing it was simply a way of avoiding the inevitable post christmas clear up:-) Reading your comment I don't feel quite so bad waffling on a bit, at least my musings are bright, articulate and humorous unlike your sad cry for help:-) That's right, start the year as i mean to go on, slagging off my dear friend Yvonne cos she's big enough to take it in good humour.
P, i can see where you're coming from, Yvonne's posts are nonsensical at best not to mention mind numbingly boring, however, as i have stated, my observations are class and so insightful. I wont take offence though because i like you, being a fellow feline nutter, but don't let it happen again, i wont be quite so forgiving:-)
Pam, please don't let the past few days put you off posting your usual sensitive and caring comments, i for one miss them and i cant imagine anyone finding offence at them because you are one of the most important cogs in Sues blog. Hope you enjoyed your break from workxxx
Tina, glad to hear Peter is back home, i do hope his appetite has returned. Take care, both of youxxx
Myra, you're too kind, acknowledging my intelligence was appreciated though i do worry that your standards are low considering you find Yvonne intelligent too!!??!?
Tina, Elaine and Andrew, sending you caring, healing hugsxx
Special hugs to Tracy, Yvonne,Lynda,Wheely,Maria, Theresa, June, Deb C and all who frequent this lovely blogxxx

  135. Evening Sue and everyone.
I wasn't sure about these shadow boxes first but they do grow on me so I think some will have to go on the wish list. Don't want the year go to quickly but sooo looking forward to Ally Pally already and trying to make some sense of the stamps and dies I have but it is not easy. How do you keep you dies and stamps Sue ?

June- I have a BIL who is crazy in motorbikes and I found a good one on Craft U Print, it's a good place to look. Unfortunately I didn't keep it or I could have given you the code, sorry x
Oh Laine, very brave trying to make PP's Scabbie's ( sound like an illness and I got a big red line under the word but that was P called them, hihi) You and Yvonne babble away as much you want, you make me smile like a C.cat ( you know what I mean.yes?) Good you had a fine x-mas and new year both of you. Now know where to go to borrow shadow box dies if I need some before buying them myself :-) x
Marion , how sweet of you granddaughter already having her own sewing machine. Love it when the children also are in to making craft and not just sitting with their game boys and what not they called these days x
Tina T, great news. Thanks for telling us. Hugs to you both x
Diane, Christmas in a Castle. Sound very exciting. Hope you had a fab. time and your daughter enjoyed her brake from Uni. x
Myra, Your story Lol. As you know I'm crafting in the kitchen so what is in our dinners sometime, god knows but no much complaints yet and if I can say it myself I think when the food is glittering it looks very pretty x
Nice to see some missing Wilsonette's being back again x
Sending my special hugs to all who need one and my normal hugs to the rest of you and hope you all have a Good night,
    keep warm Maria x

  138. Hello Sue,

What a stunning card. I am thinking about the shadow box dies, as I think they could be very versatile.

I have my Christmas money at the ready.

I have admired a lot of your shadow box cards Sue and I think it is time that I have a perusal at them.

Thanks for all the inspiration and of course, the video .

  139. Very fun card today. I have a friend who loves shopping and shoes galore. She came to my mind first thing on seeing this card.
I only have the Christmas Shadow box and got it late but did make one card with it and it was a lot of fun to put together. These shadow boxes are like little scenes and can be personalized and embellished to suit. Love the idea of them.
Thanks for all you do for us,
