Birthday Wishes

Hi crafters!  First off, I do apologise for the shadowed photos.  I have really been struggling taking pictures in the winter lighting.  This card has been made with wisteria and white card so hopefully with that in mind, you can enjoy the card (no matter what colour it ends up looking like on your monitor! LOL)  I started this card by cutting the Belgian Background in wisteria card and backing it in white.  I cut it in half and then put the two ends together and nipped out about an inch more of it, reassembled it so I had a square (more or less).  I cut another square out of coconut white card and added the four white outside corners from the Belgian Collection.  I added the square background in a diamond orientation on top of it.  I stamped my sentiment in black on white card and used the inner cutting dies from the Bruges and Brussels die sets to cut a thin frame.  I sprayed it with glue and coated it with Diamond Snow.  I glued it over my sentiment and trimmed away the excess card.  I cut the inner decorative die from the Bruges set to seat it on and added the decorative die from the Antwerp cut in half to the top and bottom.  I added it to the centre of the background and accented it with several small Exquisite poppy dies inked with Chic Viola.  I cut a larger square of white card and ran double sided tape around the edge and coated it with Diamond Sprinkles and added the topper to that.  The card was completed with white and wisteria mats and layers including my usual pierced top layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.

As promised, the winner of the 2016 Orphan cards is:

Lorraine Eastwood!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your cards!  I know you will give them a good home!   All for now, Sue x

  15. Dear Sue and her jolly band of bloggy crafters,

Lovely for a winter birthday. Hard to replicate with just one set from the Belgian collection, but I appreciate the reminders that we can adjust the shape of a background and that the inner cutting edges of two sets in the same collection can be used as nesties to frame the sentiment.

What would a subscription cost per month to just have every die shipped as soon at they come out? About as much as I should be saving for retirement, I'm guessing.

Pam, how do you manage to be first every day!?!

Good morning to everyone in UK. I'm about to fall asleep listening to BBC in US.

  112. Hi sue and everyone

A gorgeous card today, so cute. A great reminder to cut into your die cuts to make new designs. Love the sparkle of it too.

CONGRATULATIONS to Laine. I'm so pleased for you. Now don't go treading on any of them with your new posh shoes will you? (I mean by accident of course). I'm sure you'll be doing a happy dance for days. Enjoy. X

    Love Helen xxx

  120. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Whoopeeeee! I am still on cloud nine after discovering that i am about to become the proud adoptive mum to Sues little orphans.....I couldn't quite believe my bleary eyes this morning, it came as a real surprise because I'd totally forgotten about the announcement but boy did I screech!, my Mum had to literally scrape me from the ceiling:-) Thankyou so much for your many congratulations, its much appreciated....i havent heard from Yvonne since my win, she's keeping a low profile understandably now that i have unrivalled no. 1 status with Sue, whether this affects our fragile friendship remains to be seen, watch this space:-)
Back to the main event though, today's card which is truly a vision of loveliness. How refreshing to see the Belgian Collection make an appearance again, i love the square lines of this card, I don't make nearly enough of this shape, and the glittery border just oozes class. I wish that i had an ounce of your flair Sue, boy, i would be dangerous!:-)
After the early morning excitement i was left to calm down and prepare myself for a trip into Stirling....among other things i was taking a silk summer dress in to be dry cleaned. I came across it in a plastic carrier bag on top of the Christmas decorations box, a nice surprise because I don't even remember buying it and goodness knows how long its been languishing there!....if ever there was a sign that i have too many clothes then this is it:-)
Popped into M&S for some food and was relieved to see that the selection was back to normal, no more monster packs of parsnips an∂ brussel sprouts thank goodness! Glad to be eating normally again, all that rich food can get a bit too much after a while. But would you believe they already have the Easter Eggs on display!!??!? Has the world gone mad?
Elaine, poor Andrew, i know how he feels, i had a number of blood clots on my lungs and had to have the daily injections too. If Andrew has difficulty administering the needle then they do have a pill that you can take instead, i was given it for the final 2 months of treatment and it was much easier. So pleased his tumour has reduced, its wonderful news:-) Please keep us up to date with his progressxxx
Tina, how encouraging that Peter managed some food, i hope it continuesxxx
Frances, persevere with Pippin because he's much safer at home during the night. Darcey used to have a cat flap in my old flat and could wander in and out to her hearts content but when i moved in with my Mum i decided to keep her in during the night and apart from the odd hiccup in the summer months she has adapted quite well and i get to have her cuddle in bed with me which is cool.
Wheely, hope you are okay and not suffering with those pesky migraines. Sending love to you and Billyxxx
Yvonne, so sorry we couldn't chat tonight as planned, hope you get the rest you so desperately need and that Mum improves soonxxx
Sending cuddles to my besties, Maria, Pam, Pat, Myra,Maureen, Tracy,Deb C, Theresa, Lynda, Alison,Norah,June and anyone i have forgotten. Cuddles to anyone feeling down, ill or caring for a loved one and hugs to everyone in generalxxx
