So Glad You Are My Friend

Hello there my crafty friends!  It has been absolutely ages since I did an all white card!  I just felt the need to sit down and make one recently so I hope you like it.  I admit that I have shied away from them because my photographic skills (or rather lack there of) have not been able to do them justice. I was relatively pleased that you can see the detail in these pics so I decided to go ahead and post it.  I started by cutting an aperture with the Fiji die in the upper portion of a piece of coconut white card.  I embossed the card with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder to add texture.  I added a layer of mounting foam to the back to raise it.  Next I cut the decorative die from the Fiji using the centre hexagon to cut another aperture in another piece of coconut white, then centred it behind the first aperture and trimmed the edges to match.  I stamped my sentiment in Black Archival ink and centred it in the aperture in the Fiji and added it with mounting foam.  I made several different styles of flowers using the Striped Nasturtium and the Beaded Starflower and seated them diagonally across the card.  I accented the flowers with leafy bits cut from the top of the Family Tree die.  The card was completed with a white on white pierced mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.

I do apologise that I haven't gotten to the blog candy drawing as we have hit our goal (and surpassed it even!)   I will try to get it posted up on the blog for later on this afternoon so please check back to see if your name has been drawn.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Beautiful card, as were yesterday's too. What a stunner.
Elaine, I was so sorry to read your post. Poor Helen and Andrew must be in a dreadful state, very very sad news, as if they didn't have enough to burden them. This of course will affect you so much too. My deepest sympathies to the whole family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Tina, I hope you are coping well. I think of you often.
Tina, good news that Peter is doing okay. Not too long now to his appointment.
Denise, nice to see you back, hope you are feeling better.
Keep well and safe everyone. Hugs to all.

  7. Morning Sue. The shows I've managed to catch up with so far have been lovely and so inspirational. I must say that considering you're jet lagged you look so well and bright.
Congratulations on teaching your goal, and this is such a gorgeous card to start the week with. I adore white on white or any tone on tone cardstock, just something about it that makes a card look classic, I couldn't ask for a prettier card to start my birthday with plus I have a selection of surprise dies to look forward to and I'm so excited to see what my wonderful man has treated me to, I'm keeping everything crossed that I will receive a couple of your new shadow box accessories so I can do some crafting while we're away over Christmas and New Year's.
Thank you for starting my 21st birthday with a beautiful stunning card. Hope you are having a restful time away Pam.
Sending extra special hugs to you Sue and enjoy your day xxx

Congratulations on reaching and exceeding your blog posts.
Pam, June hope you are ready for Christmas.
Peter was brighter yesterday, actually ate and drank more. Even had his first mince pie, and I have found putting meals on a tea plate rather than a dinner plate seems to work.

Watched your shows on Hochanda, you certainly are the queen of dies and your designs are awesome.

Congratulations on reaching and passing your blog goal, you so deserve it.

Pam I hope you are enjoying your break.

Elaine, what can I say to ease things for you, Andrew, Helen and all your family, such a tragic thing to happen - my thoughts and prayers are with you all, be there for each other, stay strong, have lots of hugs and tears and talk about him, the good and bad times. special hugs to you all. xxx

Tina T, pleased that Peter is doing well, smaller plates do the trick, and I bet he enjoyed the mince pie.

I am still doing cards and things so way behind this year. I am going to make a vow here and now that I make my cards earlier and get them ready for posting in NOVEMBER 2017, I hate all this last minute rush, yes I know I have had a lot going on but I need to get myself organised, lots of craft sorting out in the new year.

Got the dreaded dentist this afternoon, how I hate going.

Thinking of everyone of is suffering or needs a special hug.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Saw some of the shows, great demos as usual and my the tree was so popular.

The detail can be easily seen too, once Christmas is over I intend to do some real creating and you have me thinking white on white now.
Only 2 cards to finish off now, finally got moving, the garden is missing out this year, nearly have all presents and only food shopping after that. I bet we are all just waiting to sit down on Christmas Eve when it is too late to worry any more !!!

  131. A beautiful card Sue. Always used to make white cards but haven't for a while. Must do so again. Thank you for your inspiration. Sorry didn't comment yesterday. Started to read the comments and fell asleep. Realised this morning I hadn't commented. Having had chance to watch almost the weekend shows yet either.
