Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  Gold, black and white for today's offering.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Nordic Tiles embossing folder.  I cut it into four strips based upon the design and added mounting foam to the back of each strip.  I added the strips to a piece of Antique Gold card to create the background.  Next I cut the Ornate Holly Framed Noel die in both Antique Gold and Black Card and offset them to create a shadow.  I attached it in a diamond orientation to the centre of the card.  I cut circles of both black and gold for the centre and added the Noel die cut in black and stacked several of them together for dimension.  For the floral accents, I used the Poinsettia Additions, cutting the solid flower in black gloss card and the outline in gold.  I cut enough to create three flowers of differing sizes and seated them around the focal element in opposite corners.  I accented them with Holly Branches cut in white.  The card was completed with various mats of gold, black and white.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 1/2" in size.  Please leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  6. Morning Sue. Apologies for my stressed rant on yesterday's entry.

I've started to concentrate more on your festive folders as more and more I'm looking at the mat and layers, especially the final mat doesn't look right without some kind of beautiful pattern to help enhance the total look so the Nordic Tile has found a slot on my shelf and it's beautiful and so necessary for the cards for men. Because I'm in such a rush to get these blinking cards I can't allow myself to grout to highlight or use anything that takes too much time to do or dry but get this stupid panic out of the way I can start to experiment more especially with the Pixie Powders etc.
Black and gold is the perfect colour combination and as per you've done a brilliant job showing your dies ending with the most classie beautiful festive card anyone would be proud to look after.
My daily hug is on its way to you and whatever your plans for the day hope it's an enjoyable one xxx

I am sorry I did not comment yesterday but spent so much time on the phone following my car accident on Sunday. I am feeling very bruised and battered but it could have been so much worse. Thank you so much to eveyone who has sent their good wishes to me. I too send my good wishes to all Sue's followers who are in pain and recuperating after surgery etc. I know there are lots of you out there and I am thinking of you. Sorry I can't write down all your names.

  68. Hi Sue! Thanks for giving me something inspiring to study every day. I'm on the East Coast of U.S. I love what you do. I do have some questions. Do your cards open? Is there a place to write a note and sign it? Or are they more like home decor, like an artwork to display on a little easel? Also, to send them, do you have to make a custom envelope for each one, or do you mail them in a box to keep the flowers and bows and butterflies from getting crushed?
Maybe someone who's been following this blog a while could answer.
I've tried to stay away from buying stamps or dies of poinsettias, but you're making it difficult.
Really like that Nordic Tile embossing folder.

  79. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a stunning card as a giveaway today, anyone would treasure this, the dies you have used are fantastic and cut out really well.

Sharon, hope you get on OK with physio today, yes I do have a lovely physio, his name is Connor, I am pleased I have him because he is so good. I am trying to do the exercises, getting in and out of the car is not easy but I manage it. Just got back from craft club so it is a bit painful but a few minutes rest should hopefully settle it down, did not have a good night so I am definitely taking a morphine or pain pill tonight, but I know I will get there as you will too. Hope your daughter is getting on OK.

Tina, I know what you mean about this damp weather, it seems that every bone hurts but at least it is a bit warmer out there. Hope Peter is OK, and the appointment next week goes well.

Elaine, pleased that Andrew was pain free today, hope his appointment with the consultant goes well tomorrow. xx

Lesley, take it easy, don't worry about the car being a write off, it is your health that matters, hugs xx

Donita, Sue normally makes her creations on a flat piece of card not an opening one, that way they can be displayed and any comments put on the back. Some of her cards you can easily purchase off the shelf envelopes or boxes otherwise you can easily make your own. Depending on if you are giving or posting would determine whether to use a box or wider envelope, both of which are so easy to make. I hope this helps

Just sitting down to my lunch - Sausage, Mash and onions, so will catch you all tomorrow.

Stay safe, healthy, and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  116. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a delightful card to offer one of your adoring public Sue, I love the Noel Holly Frame, in fact i used it myself this very afternoon and was chuffed with the results....not quite as professional as your offering though it has to be said, but i try;-)
I adore the gold and black combo, very striking, I particularly like the poinsettias in this colourway. Would look fabulous displayed in my black, cream, beige and gold craft room....just a thought:-)
I've had a productive day, completed another Christmas card to add to my mile long list, it remains to be seen if some shop bought cards are in the offing though, hope not.....
Tracy, been thinking about you with everything that you have on your plate just now, do try to explain to your colleagues that your stamina isn't what it once was, i'm sure they'll understand. I know how you feel about your Dads first birthday without him being here, maybe putting some flowers on his grave or i like to light a Yankee Candle and burn it all day in rememberance. Christmas is different, I'm dreading my first one without my Dad too, hopefully 2017 will see a new addition to your family when your fertility treatment gets started.
June, i wish i had a fit young man called Callum stroking my leg soothingly, or is he more of a Nurse Ratched?:-)
Sandra, hope you and your daughter are feeling a little better, its a slow process after an operation but the rewards will be worth it.
Maria, lovely to see you backxxx
P, thinking of you honey, glad you can think of the good memories, it will help with the loss. I'm a bit concerned that you seem to actively encourage Yvonne's bitchiness though, if she thinks she has a willing audience then who knows what depths she will sink to:-)
Yvonne, had a little tidy up have we and found your mobile? After removing all the dirty washing and rubbish it must have emerged i take it, so now i am going to be harassed by texts again begging for my company:-) I know you're still pretending to have a social life until Friday, i'll humour you because i'm a nice person and we can catch up at the weekend in between my card making shifts. Hugsxxx
Cuddles to Pam, Pat, Theresa, Wheely, Maureen,Myra, Norah, Lorraine, Lesley and all my besties. Hugs to ill, depressed, or caring Wilsonettes and their familiesxxx

  125. Good evening Sue,

What a gorgeous Christmas card, not the traditional colours of a Christmas card, but I do like all the different dies you have chosen to put the card together.

One lucky winner will be definitely very happy to receive this card.

    Good luck everyone.

    Love Dorothy of Baldock.

  126. Hi Sue
Oh my word - how gorgeous is this card? Whoever is the lucky winner (please let it be me), will be completely delighted to be the proud owner of this wonderful creation x
I so love the ornate holly frame. It is not yet in my collection but is hovering very close to the top of my very long want list.
The colours you have used are so stunning. FABYOOOLUSSS x
Another busy day. Friend for lunch. Girls round this evening for nibbles and prosecco to celebrate one of the gang's birthdays. Got rid of them bout 11, lol x
Out for lunch tomorrow then as of tomorrow evening I have no plans to be social until I have had time to recuperate from all the frolics from the past week x
Maureen - if you think it's boring reading about my life, how do you think I feel living it - big yawn x
Lesley - I hope you get the necessary admin side of things sorted ASAP. Rest up and give yourself time to heal. Hugs x
Myra - hold on to Laine???!!! She has well and truly got her hooks attached and not loosening her grip any day soon. So tiring x
Fluffy - as long as I feed them regularly my friends keep coming back. Lol x
Laine - I decided to keep most of my pals away from you during your visit. Granted, you were introduced to a handful but they were the hand picked tough skinned group. I would not inflict your company on the rest of my friends. I lived the nightmare for the full 9 days but a few minutes in your company would push most over the edge. I'll see if I can squeeze you in Saturday but may have some paint that needs to be watched whilst drying - a much more exciting prospect x
Tracy - you are bound to feel down. So much to sort out in your head. Back at work and feeling pressure to keep up certainly does not help. Please try and pat yourself on the back and remind yourserlf how brilliantly you have dealt with everything. You should be proud of yourself. If you do face time Lynda maybe she could arrange for a man in pants to make an appearance. That will bring a smile to your face - and mine when you retell the tale on here! Lots of love x
Lynda - yeh you're back. How you feeling. Make sure you behave and follow your instructions. Sending love x
Maria - things between the boys still seem harmonious! Long may it last. Hugs x
June - bet you enjoyed getting to craft club. Is that the first time you have been since your op?
Time for some Shuteye now I think. One more day of wild partying to cope with then a well deserved rest until my presence will be required to bestow cake upon my many friends!!!
Sending happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially my blog besties x
    Take care
    Crafty hugs
    PP
    Yvonne x

Emily had a visit back to Duke this week and everything looks good. She will be in quarantine for at least six more months but at last things are going good. Thank you and your followers for all the prayers for Emily. Myra from Florida
