Crisscrossed and Cut

Hi crafters!  Today's video uses the Mauritius die to create a pretty focal element and would you believe that is the Butterfly Background die set used to create a white on white background?

The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Peter will be happy today as the Sky Engineer is coming at lunch time, he has been without it for ten days, came on Monday and Tuesday then went off again yesterday just when he wanted the cricket on. He continues to eat and drink well.
Hope all goes well June with your knee operation.

  15. Morning Sue. I don't think I'm going to make much sense with my comment but I'll have a try lol. When I first saw this sample a few weeks ago, can't remember where, it has one of those illusionial looks to it which I think black and white can do sometimes, it kinda put my brain cell off balance a tad. So now I've watched your tutorial it all makes sense and it's very very clever the way the 4 squares on the background set up the whole striped pattern beneath the Madeline and Mauritius it really gives it the WOW factor I love it.
Never did get to the craft shop yesterday. Due to accident traffic and road works it all made me late and even though I contacted the surgery and rushed my butt off to get there they wouldn't see me ! I was livid, fuming, especially when 3 of the nurse's stood in the office basing, it would have taken seconds to see me and they stood there longer than the time I would have taken !!!!! So I was in such a dark mood I just knew that even the magic of Pixies would help my mood so I went back home to 'cool off' the annoying thing is, that they know it can be a struggle and touch and go to leave the bungalow, plus I had the good manners to let them know I was stuck and not my fault, oooh, I was mad mad maaad lol, so maybe today I will go and invite the Pixies to come home with me 😊
Before I send my hug to you Sue, just want to say GOOD LUCK JUNE all will be fine (don't think of the breakfast you're missing) think of the new knee you are gaining and all you will achieve over the next few months, you'll be a new woman at the next AP meeting we won't recognise the new you on the group photo, so I will be thinking of you but you'll be fine.
Have a lovely day Sue, and take this hug in case you feel you need it xxx

Steph - ooh what a disaster, how mean when they know your problems. Pixie therapy definitely recommended.
Tracy - woohoo work again, good news or what?!
Wendy Scotland - great that you're back again and hope your husband continues to improve. Nothing like worry and daily hospital visits to use up all your time.
Laine, sorry for your Mum's problem too, sounds really unpleasant. Hope it gets fixed - and the scooter too. Greetings to PP also.

  44. Hello Sue,
Sorry I missed yesterday !! We all looked at the card at some stage! We will be trying your background technique!
Today's is lovely in simply black and white! Very effective!
Just going down for breakfast in a minute! Thanks so much to all the ladies who sent good wishes about Carlisle - including Pam , June Smith, Maria, Laine, and others too but as I'm I useless person early in the morning - I've forgotten some names! Maureen has behaved better than expected but the word " impeccably " wouldn't be quite the word I'd use! We had a lovely day yesterday and went out last night to a fairly new Italian Restaurant! There was just a slight step up at the doorway and when Norah was asked if she would manage in her scooter -the response was " 0h fine I'll take a run at it!" Norah is amazing! We've had a lovely time and will leave mid morning to return home!
June Smith - thinking of you! All the very best for your op today!
Laine - hope your chariot is back in action and you too!
    Love to everyone! Myra xxx

Well ladies, unlike poor Wendy in Scotland I didn't have to wait 19 weeks to get my husband back, I brought him home this afternoon! It was indeed just a minor stroke and he has been recovering so well they let him go. Occupational Health etc will all be visiting but I'm sure it won't be too long before he is back to his old self.

Wheely - thanks for letting us know that Billy's op went well and the damage was not as bad as anticipated, paws crossed for a speedy recovery.

  108. I don't normally like black and white cards but I really loved this one on the die launch. The Mauritius die and the Butterfly Background are at the top of wish-list.
Hope all went with your knee operation June.
    Take care everyone.
