Beautiful Day

Happy Halloween!  Sorry no spooky card for today (well at least I hope it isn't spooky! LOL)  I started this card by cutting the Butterfly Background out of coconut white card, using the centre cutting die to cut it into a frame.  Next I covered a piece of acetate with a self adhesive sticky sheet and peeled the backing sheet off and coated it with Red Blaze Gilding Flakes.  I used a rubit scrubit pad to refine and smooth the flakes on to the acetate.  I glued the Butterfly frame to the top of the acetate.  I stamped a sentiment and covered it with a small piece of sticky adhesive sheet.  Next I cut a frame using the centre of the Madeleine die set.  I peeled the backing off of my sentient and seated the round frame over it, then added Diamond sprinkles to coat the sticky on top of the sentiment.  I attached it in the centre of the Butterfly frame.  I cut several of the Exquisite Poppies in white and used a gold paint pen around the edges as accents.  I added several flowers around the sentiment seating them on white satin ribbon and using Olive Branches as accents.  The card was simply finished with a white pierced mat on a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  6 3/4" in size.

Just a quick little tease for tomorrow.  We are launching my final 2016 die release here on the blog starting at 6am Tuesday morning.  I do hope that you can join us as we will have our usual die giveaway of one set of each design with anyone willing to join in being eligible to win one!  All for now, Sue x

Elaine good news about Andrew, but please take care of yourself too.

Missing you Laine, PP, Tina, Mick and anyone else who needs a hug.

Got nurse coming today to check and change the dressing, but I can now get into bed myself with the help of the 'blue dog lead' strap that loops over the foot.

  14. Morning tease lol. Ohh dear more new dies to try and tempt me, you won't win Sue, I HAVE to save for the rest of the Noble dies, but I'm really looking forward to your new samples showing the 'girly' collection as they are quite different and fun to work with I would imagin, so good luck wishes coming your way ahead of your new babies.
If this card is scary, then I'm a professional card maker (which I'm far from) this is such the most beautiful card to start our week. The newish butterfly frame looks so delicate and I really wish I had it. It's a new moon and did you know you are suppose to list down a few wishes or dreams or what you hope for during the new moon phase, well maybe just maybe if I sneak in this frame to my new moon wish list, it may just appear within the next week ? I'd be far too greedy to wish for my oval and circle Noble collection lol. Whilst waiting for 6am I was re-watching the last shows you did with the festive dies hoping it will spur me on to finish my order by the end of this week ! I thought I'd made it pretty easy on myself and got myself well organised, but nope, it all changed and now I've got my head in such a spin lol we live and learn I suppose but I never learn by my past mistakes so I deserve to be in a spin, I'm such a Muppet it's untrue lol.
So now I've had the best ever start to Mr morning, day and week, I'd better get the kettle on as scary pants Cotterill plus howling hound are on their way back from hooting owl park, catch this hug if you can and don't worry about tomorrow your dies will be much loved as always. Have a great day Sue and leave the trick or treat choccies for the door knockers later lol xxx

Looking forward to your launch tomorrow to see what you have been making with your new dies. Have a great week Sue.

Just read an article that said if a letter is missing in a written word, our brain automatically puts it in and we skip over it and hardly notice - but being a pernickety Virgoan .... A divine card in every sense!!
Thinking of our Tracy on her way to work - also PP, Laine, Wheely and all poorly ones.
Woke at 12.30 ish with a bat whizzing round the bedroom - now we have 6 different types in the roof and love having them here, but indoors they scare the wotsits out of me. Himself, stricken with man flu, had to deal with it while I departed. Feel k*******d now. Spooky Halloween all.

Thank u ladies for yesterday's kind comments. I will be taking it slowly. I'm having all my legal and compliance training over the next few days to get me back up to date. I'm only in 2 hrs per day this week and I'm in for 4 days. Next week the same days but 3 hrs. The rest of the weeks has still to be discussed. But I've got 6 weeks on part time hrs then by the 7 th week I'll be back on full time hrs.
I'm starting later too as they want to ease me in gently before I go back to my normal 6.30 starts for morning fill up.
I'm quite excited this morning but emotional too as it's the next big step for me.

  84. Hi,Sue,
What a stunner to start the week off. I'm glad you didn't do a scary card, I for one am all Halloween'd out already lol. Luckily I live in a place with hardly any kids so I should be safe from ghoulish visitors when it gets dark lol. A friend told me that in Falmouth there are a lot of houses with notices up saying 'No trick or treaters'. I do think go that far, the dog keeps most people away anyway lol.
I'm really excited about your final collection of 2016, Sue, can't wait to see what wonderful designs you have for us this time around.
Its a beautiful of a day down here in my part of Cornwall this morning, it's chilly but we have a clear blue sky and a blazing sun, what a lovely end to October. I've no time to spend in the garden though as, if my kitten will let me, I'm going to try and finish off my advent calendar today and not etc back to sticking millions of sequins into polystyrene balls...who says I don't have an exciting life lol.

  107. Yet another stunning card. Love the delicacy of the butterfly frame sitting on the opulent background of gilding flakes. Absolutely beautiful! I love playing with gilding flakes but have never used them on acetate, another thing to try. Thank you Sue.
Looking forward to your new release tomorrow, but sorry won't be up at 6am! Lol!

  109. Great card. I like the idea of gilding flakes on acetate. My iPad doesn't show up the absolute lusciousness of the red blaze gilding flakes which I love more than all of them.

  118. Hi Sue, this card is as beautiful as the sentiment and the creator. Love the butterfly frame and the gilding flakes just enhance it. The poppy is as lovely as ever.

Barbara C - Happy Birthday! I hope you have had a lovely day.
SueJ - Best wishes for your operation tomorrow, thinking of you.
Tracy - hope your first day went well. I'm glad to see that they are allowing you to have a phased return, best thing for all concerned.

I have tried to avoid looking at the e-mails showing your new dies as I like to be amazed as you unveil each new beauty but those that I have seen look to be more 'must haves'. I just wish my purse had more in it :-) Looking forward to the release nonetheless.

I'm not much for tonight's trick and treating but to all those that are, Happy Hallowe'en.

  125. Hi Sue. Today's card is absolutely gorgeous !!! Such a beautiful Butterfly Frame die set Sue, and I really love the inner circle frame from your Madeline die set to. Your Butterfly Frame looks very delicate and is a very pretty design. Your Madeline die set is lovely, I really love the centre circle as I think it is a fab Elegant design that would work as so many centre pieces for so many different cards and I can see so many of my sentiment stamps fitting in this lovely sized centre piece. The red blaze gilding flakes look so dramatic and what a great idea to encase it all in acetate. As always Sue I am loving your gorgeous poppy dies, and the olive branch leaves. A beautiful floral display to finish this stunning card. Thank you. I cannot wait to see all your amazing new dies in action tomorrow Sue !!! All your new dies look fabulous Sue and I know this new die launch will be just as amazing as all your previous ones. Sending lots of love to you today Sue from Tres x x x

I can imagine some neat uses for it! :) I'm always in awe of your gorgeous dies and how artistically you use them on your cards, Sue! LOVE the glitter in the center of your card, the diamond glitter is perfect, amazing that you can still see the sentiment in the center with the glitter there. Can't wait to see all of your new dies and matching stamps!!!

    Best wishes to you,
