Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  I have picked out one of my favourite cards from the September die launch as a Wednesday card giveaway offering.  I selected milk and blush card as the starting point and embossed a piece of milk card with the Wild Rose embossing folder.  I decide to make it a petticoat styled card and used the new Romantic Edger for that.  I cut three of the base edger piece in milk and then used blush card to cut the matching outline die with it.  I adhered the pieces together and lined up the edger pieces in three rows going down the bottom half of the card.  I used the tiny heart border in the set to create a thin border between the top and bottom of the card, cutting the hearts out of milk card and backing them with blush.  For the focal element, I cut the Mauritius die in milk and backed it with blush card as well.  I used the centre die from the Madeleine die to cut a backing for my sentiment.  I added a blush back to it then stamped my sentiment on milk card and cut it out with the centre circle die and added it to the middle of the card.  I decided that there was enough going on already but it is always a personal preference if you want to add some flowers as well.  I completed the card with  milk, blush, milk mat sequence layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one!  The winner will be announced on Saturday's bog post.

Don't forget to scroll down to the post below to see if your name was drawn for a winner of one of the September die releases!  All for now, Sue x

  26. Morning Sue. To start with, the sentiment was made for you, I don't know of any other die designer that is prepared to giveaway so many of their own dies like you do, so for that reason this sentiment finds its way back to you today, there are many more reasons too.
Milk and blush are made for each other such a shame the blush has been withdrawn from stock. After all the stunning dies last week, I don't know if I can find the words that this card deserves, but I'll give it a go lol, elegant, delicate, romantic, soothing and oh so very very pretty, and should go into a box frame and put on display for all to see, I can see why it's a favourite of yours and I'm almost sure there are more than 1 of these samples either in your craft room or stored at CE Towers for that reason I shall be contacting the S.A.S to be on standby from Saturday onwards lol
Although I left a message on last night's Die Draw post (I'd completely forgotten that you were doing the announcement) it was only by chance that I looked before turning off my phone ready to settle and doze the night away ! So again, I'm thrilled to see a few names I know, and many congratulations to each and every one of you that will get a very special 'thank you' gift from Sue - enjoy.
I will end with my usual hugs to you Sue and should I not be the very lucky recipient of this gorgeous card, you may get a visit from a few muscular tall good looking men wearing baraclava's lol. Have an enjoyable day xxx

  37. Hi Sue and crafters all,
Firstly what a beautiful card, your new dies really compliment this style and the colours are great, pity we cannot get blush anymore!!!! Have Creative Expressions brought out anything of a similar colour.
Congratulations to all the launch die winners!!!! but it wasn't me.

Regarding Peter, well we got to the hospital and the computer system was down!!!! They where flapping like headless chickens, so things were running late!!! We actually saw his consultant who had the report thankfully!
They are not planning to remove the Cancerous Prostate but shrink it using an injection called Zoladex which is a female hormone and radiotherapy.
Peter was adamant NO CHEMOTHERAPY .
So will see how this goes .
Thankyou all for your best wishes.

Pat L, My PA is just jealous because I have so many friends. My birthday was between a very big one and a mega humongous one in 6 years time, if I last that long when she gets her hands on me ha ha. Love and prayers always for Sarah.
June, I'd have more than collywobbles, but my neighbour has had both of her knees replaced and she's like a new woman - my husband wants me to have them done even though I don't need it as he's fancied a new woman for a long time!! It's our Golden Wedding soon, let's hope he gets to see it!!! We'll all be thinking of you on the 13th.
Oh there are so many and I didn't write down the names but I am thinking of you and your husbands who are waiting for treatment, having treatment, in pain or worrying about their jobs.

I can appreciate why you favour this particular card, it's stunning, delicate and ornate.....I particularly love the petticoat effect, the heart edger is simply gorgeous, the embossing on the hearts is such a real showstopper. The addition of the heart border really finishes of the design perfectly. I love the Mauritius die, it's detailing is second to none and it provides a wonderful focal point. It goes without saying that I feel I deserve to be chosen this week, if not for the fact that I was the only member of the audience brave enough to ask a question on live tv, but also because my mum....whose birthday is tomorrow....is now refusing to let me back in the house because I didn't get her card signed by you at Ally Pally:-) if you don't choose me as your grateful recipient then I may be left destitute....Yvonne has made it clear that I am no longer welcome at Pixie Palace and I don't think my crafty stash will fit in a cardboard box:-)
Apologies for not commenting sooner but apart from the fact that I was more exhausted than I had anticipated Yvonne is insisting on hogging the limelight as per usual:-) She wanted to update you all on our Ally Pally experience and who am I to disappoint her....besides, im fed up of being sent to the cupboard below the stairs:-)
Today is my final full day in this living hell:-) I never realised just how long nine days could feel, even the eye candy represented by Yvonne's lovely boys hasn't been enough to make this visit bearable....okay, I lie, she has cooked me brownies, scabby roast potatoes on demand, Eton mess and white chocolate cheesecake which we are planning to scoff tonight watching Bake Off, mmm....if you weren't currently in a diabetic coma Sue, I'd suggest you joined us but I don't want to be responsible for your hospitalisation, especially before your Hochanda shows:-)
Lesley S, I'm afraid that such was the mess created in PP's craft room that I have been refused entry, so no crafting as such has been done since last week, never mind. I have a suspicion that my efforts being far superior to hers actually embarrassed her to such a degree that she has sabotaged any future chance to create:-) I'm so hurt that you can't remember my name though Lesely, it's Laine or Lorraine if you want to be more formal, I obviously didn't make much of an impression when we met:-)xxxx
P, I have so missed my babies but you are so right, they will make me suffer on my return that's guaranteed:-) I expect at least one sleepless night with my princess but it will be worth it to be back with them:-)
Tina, so glad Peter has managed to avoid chemo, you must be so pleased. All the best with the first stage of his treatment, it will be a relief to get started.
Elaine, great that Andrew is doing well, I hope his treatment date is soon, the worst thing is the wait.
Jess, I am so surprised that you remembered me from Flawless Designs, it was quite a few years ago now. I so miss the classes and wish there was something else locally....it a small world isn't it?
Tracy, great that you have a support network to help you get back to work eventually, but don't put too much pressure on yourself if your not physically recovered yet.
I had a lovely day at Ally Pally, meeting Sue was a real thrill and I will never forget the experience....I'm a little disappointed that she didn't curtesy to me like she did PP though, surely my own Royal status was evident for all to see, well, at least my fellow Wilsonettes can recognise real class when they see it as opposed to those who have self imposed titles and who believe they are Royal by association:-)
Huge hugs to all my besties, hopefully I will meet some more of you next yearxxxx

  126. A lovely feminine card, especially with the petticoat edge. The Mauritius die is nearly top of my list, just beaten by the Madelaine die, so I'm saving those pennies, otherwise they will have to wait to Christmas! Lol!l
Congratulations again to the lucky winners.

  131. I feel I must apologise to Lorraine for calling her Elaine earlier today, how could I have forgotten in such short a time? I actually had it written correctly on a piece of paper in order to in order to make sure my spelling was correct and then went and put the wrong name altogether!!! Please put it down to a "senior moment"!!!!!!!! Hope you will still speak to me if we meet again next year!! However, I have made note that you spelt mine incorrectly the second time! Lol!!
Congratulations to all the lucky winners and thank you also to Sue for her kindness and generosity in holding these draws.

  135. Hello Sue and lovely crafty friends
What a stunner today! Love the Mauritius die and the way you have used the Romantic Edger upside down is sheer crafting genius Sue. The colour scheme is gorgeous.
I've had a very busy few days attending a funeral, organising an event for 80 people and then being away with work for 2 days - phew!! So only just been able to look in and was thrilled to see my name in the launch die list. Congrats to all the other lucky winners, hope you have lots of fun using your prizes. Thank you so much Sue for your never ending generosity and inspiration.
I have also had the pleasure of watching Sue's Hochanda show on catch up and viewing the photo's posted on the blog. So nice to put faces to names and especially to see Laine and Yvonne behaving so nicely in the audience at the show, it was great to see you both!! Really must get my planning head on so I can excape to Ally Pally next time.
    Love and blessings to all
