Happy Birthday

Hello crafters!  I pulled out the Nobles (again) for today's card offering.  I did, however, use the Lattice Stitched Frames to create the outside rectangle frame for the card.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame and attached it to a piece of  blue dusk card.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Ovals to make a multi layer white frame for the inside of the card.  I added a thin black under frame to the outside edge using the outer cutting edge from the Geneva die.  I used the decorative die from the Geneva and cut it in blue dusk card and attached the oval frame over it and placed it in the centre of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and made a small frame for it using the inner dies in the Bern die. I added it to the centre of the oval frame.  I cut the Happy Birthday Triple line die out of both blue and black card.  I used two of the sentiment strips to add an additional accent to the top and bottom of the rectangle frame after I shadowed them with the black die cut.  The final backing layers were added out of white, blue and black to match.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Gorgeous Card Sue, it's beautiful.
Elaine, you have a wonderful son, raising money for a little girls operation whilst he is waiting to start his own treatment, what a star.
Tina, hope Mick is enjoying his little treats and that they help with his weight issue, you take care too.
Tina T, have you compiled your shopping list, hope you treated Peter by asking him which die he would like lol.
June, omg you put me to shame, you are so organised, I have the dies, the magnetic sheets and the folders, only dies currently not stored in them, must get started soon.
Tracey, hope you and Graeme had a wonderful anniversary, enjoy your trip to Ireland, just think your dad will rest with his family there, but always in your heart. If you need the pills honey, take them, you have dealt with so much in such a short time and remember that you have all of us with you all of the time.
Wheely, so sorry you are not feeling great but you are a fighter, Maria too, you are not a wimp.
    Hugs to all.

  6. Morning crafty friend. Oh I do wish you'd stop messing with my mind. Just when I think I have my wish list prioritised you throw me a curve ball by means of this beautiful, inspirational work of art ! Now where do I place the oval dies on my list ? Above or below the Geneva, and where do I fit in the Happy Birthday perspectives amongst those additions AND your 2016 New Additions collection that we are looking forward to that there are thousands of us doing happy dances all over the world that the planet is spinning off kilter lol. Where Sue ? Where ? Lol. My brain is frying fast lol.
Well, I've just completed my first year of a new treatment and cuz I've been a good girl and let it ride over me my wonderful 'keeper' treated me to a bravery award lol it maybe one of your very first collections but it was still up there on his list of wishes - so I now have the Tuscany from the Italians set, see how determind we both are that the 'older' group won't pass us by (if we can help it) lol plus he's booked a couple of nights away for us ☺ I thought I had some beautiful gems in my accessories box, but he's the biggest (pass the bucket round ladies) lol sorry if anyone is reading this at meal time it was a bit sickly wasn't it lol, oh well. So my frying brain and I will leave you with a daily hug even after that curve ball hit me, and hope you have a beautiful day, I think I maybe visiting this sample multiple times today as it's so easy on the eye to keep looking at xxx

  42. Hello Sue,

Love all the framing on this card and the Geneva die set really comes into it's own giving some pretty detail inside the pierced ovals and as a backing to them too - it is on the wish list already and I've just added the triple line HB die - really like how you've used it here to give borders top and bottom...

  43. Really lovely card, Sue, pretty blue and a great design. As always, love the shadowing.
Bejay, your Minnim sounds gorgeous - all kittens have mad dash-around times, so funny.
My three hand-rears still here - the people who had them booked for adoption (friends) suddenly took in four adults from someone who was being evicted and more in need, so we're still enjoying the crazy antics - and huge amounts of loving - now four months old, so very attached to them lol ho hum. Little thin Beauty amazingly still with us and happy, but still no further forward with diagnosis. She's always cuddling up to her big long-haired tabby buddy Tarquin, he's 5 times her size and weight and he takes his guardian role very seriously!
Tracy, hope you and Graeme had a good anniversary day. Not surprising you have low days, try to enjoy your trip to Ireland with your Dad for the last time, a special journey.
Hugs to all, especially our Wheely, Maria, Julie, Steph and the twosome.

  63. Hi Sue, a lovely card that would be well received by any gender. Not sure if I could resist adding a flower or two though for girly girl friends lol.

Steph - you have a polished diamond there, look after him :-)
'P' - how good of your friends to take in 4 adults who will undoubtedly be uncertain and apprehensive having been uprooted from their home. At least you get to enjoy the kittens for a while longer. Beauty and Tarquin sound the perfect pairing, I expect she uses his long fur as a blanket :-)
Elaine - what a selfless thing Andrew is doing and well done to all the riders involved.

Apart from Sue's card it is a dull, damp and dreary morning but I have lots to do so had better get a wriggle on. Wishing everyone a good week.

Getting very jittery knowing that there must be a launch any day now. All this excitement is a strain. A launch and Ally Pally and of course my on going relationship with my precious pixie powders x
I would also add Laine's stay to that list as a week tomorrow there will be absolutely no turning back but I'm not sure how I feel. Don't think excitement is the right word. Lol x
June - I don't mind lowering myself to answer the door. I may be royalty now but it wasn't that long ago that I was as common as you. Lol. Protocol isn't all it's cracked up to be. I won't forgot my roots. Hugs x
Nanna Tina - male cards are a struggle at the best of times but 6 or 7 for the same man - hats off to you. Glad Mick's appetite is still good. Hugs x
Lynda - under the stairs - now there's a thought. Good idea - thanks for that. Very Harry Potter. My boys are 18 and 24. Steve died 30th December 2010. He was only 49. Big shock. Very unexpected. The boys found him in the garden. It was a really tough time and still is hard but life goes on. My outlook on life has changed so much and I find joy in the little things, like pixie powders - lol. Don't take things for granted like I used to. Family and friends are the most precious things in the world and a good (and rather wicked) sense of humour vital. Many amusing tales to tell about Steve's ashes but I'll save them for another time. Hugs x
Maria - Laine a princess??!! I think not. She is far too common but allowing her to stay will keep me grounded. Hope your aches and pains ease but I don't think there's much hope for your mind. Lol. Hugs x
Wheely - I'm glad you managed some crafty play time. It's good therapy. Hugs x
Tina T - sorry Peter had a rough night. I hope things are better tonight. Hugs x
Tracy - completely forgot to wish you and Graeme Happy Anniversary yesterday. Hope you are having a lovely time in Ireland. Hugs x
Elaine - glad the fundraiser went well. Brilliant news. Hugs x
Laine - where are you partner?? Hope you're OK. Fingers crossed you'll be up for a chat tomorrow. Not long now hun and you will be in the presence of someone with a bit of class - how on earth will you cope??!! Hugs x
