Happy Birthday To You

 Hello all!!  It's Shadow Box time today!  Recently I have had quite a few emails asking about the Shadow Box Concept so here is a card that was shown last week during the Hochanda shows, but now for a more detailed peek at it!  I started by simply cutting the Birthday Shadow Box base with all the inside cutting edges taped in place.  This gives you a pretty frame for all your boxes and a lovely stitched detail around all the boxes as well.  I mounted foam on the back to raise it to give the boxes dimension.  I cut a piece of coconut white card to use as the backing to my shadow box and embossed it with the Daisy Burst embossing folder and adhered the shadow box over it.  Using the accessory dies that are part of the set, I cut the sentiments in black several times and layered then up for a bit more dimension.  I selected some fun bright colours to cut the balloons, party hats and presents.  I cut the balloons first and added a coat of Cosmic lacquer and allowed them to dry thoroughly.  I added black and white Bakers Twine to all the balloons.  I used the heart balloon in pink and intertwined the string through the Celebrate word and glued it into place sideways in the box.  I took the oval balloons and added mounting foam and adhered them to the top corner, outside the largest box opening and draped the strings along the side.  I glued the Happy Birthday into the largest opening below it.  I cut the party hats in the same colours and added the dots with a black fine tip marker.  I mounted them along one of the longer boxes in a whimsical manner.  The last two opening, I used the present in different colours to fill it.  I completed the card by paper piercing a white mat, bringing in a thin black mat and finishing with another white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  7 1/2" in size.
