Framed Florals

Hi crafters!  The Pierced Roses Mini Background makes a beautiful card and today's video shows you just how easy it is to add colour to it for a quick card.

I find the tip about embossing before cutting so useful it makes such a difference if the die cut pops out. I love the frame within the frame idea, also colouring the vellum from the back, at first it looks a mess until you turn it over. The smoothies are my favourite blending tool you don't get the hard edges. Your card is beautiful, this background die is gorgeous and another on my ever growing list lol!

  76. Good morning Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes,
This is a lovely card Sue in whatever colour you do it but i'm afraid too many other of your beautiful dies have come around that i need to get first, lol. This would make a lovely wedding card with you putting the blue flowers on it, just to help that luck along. Thank you Sue for a beauty to bring thoughts of a lovely day even if it isn't outside.
Tracy flower, it is that hardest thing to do, watch someone you love go down and knowing that there is nothing you can do but sit and watch and love them even more because you know it could be your last chance to tell them. With your dad being so fragile it is countless times more painful their needles and drips when all he wants is to have that wee bit of time without that pain on top of everything else. I hope that your dad at least does as he is told and wait, mines waited until i had come home to get Rory and Mum had just gone down for a bowl of soup as she had been there at his side for more than 24 hours without eating a thing and as you know she was already so thin. The nurses had said to her that they were just going to change his position and turn him and give him a wee wash, but he was gone before Mum came back, so i hope that at least yours waits until you can say goodbye properly flower. My thoughts, prayers and love is with you and your sister to give you strength like you've never needed before. x
Elaine, i hope that Andrew soon will be going up in the right direction with his strength and eating. It must be so hard watching your beloved son fading in front of your eyes but i'm told that community nurses are more up to date with things than their doctors. The nurse wouldn't think twice about getting in the doctor if she thought in any way Andrew needed one. HUgs to you and Andrew flower and a wee one for Darren your other son, i hope that his op was a success for him so no more straining tell him so that the hernia doesn't decided to break loose and free again, lol. x
Tina, how is Mick progressing? I hope that you are being able to see a wee bit of a difference in him as the days go by, although i don't know whether it's easier for you at home or in the hospital but i hope that you are keeping your strength up as well flower as you are no use to Mick if you become ill trying to be superwoman. Sending you hugs anyway flower and i have everything crossed that you are ok.x
Pam, Rory is off on holiday from the college at the moment as his course that he has been on for the last year has finished but he goes back after the summer onto a graphic design and media studies course i think that's what it is called. Even though that last course had absolutely nothing in it to help him, he went everyday without a mummer and never took a day of skiving once. He applied for this new course himself and went for the interview that he was called for himself and told me about it when he came home. He didn't want me getting worried about what if he didn't get the course or there was too many applicants and Rory would be side lined in favour of the brighter people. I think that i have fought one too many battles for people to treat my boy with the same respect and give him the same chance as everyone else, so now he is trying to do it on his own which says a lot for him. I am so proud of him and how he has turned out because he will try and not just sit down at the first hurdle and say i can't do it. I can't believe he will be 17 next month and no longer a wee boy. At the moment he is trying very hard to persuade me to let him learn to ride a motorbike and i have categorically said no. He has to come off a push bike to go from the road to the kerb and he goes flying off the bike when he hits a pot hole, what would he be like on a motorbike? So the answer is still no.
    end of part 1

  77. Part 2
Yesterday i went away down to the hub to meet 3 very special friends that are beautiful inside and out. We had a great day laughing and joking and not sure where the time went. I was being unforgiveable rude with yawning as i was just so tired between trying to finish off a wee jacket for my special neice who is expecting her first baby on the 5th of November and not being able to sleep because of the new idiots that have moved into the village that roar past in their cars, motorbikes along with their friends at the early hours of the morning. They are renting the house and if i could get a hold of Steven that owns it, i think there would be more than just me in about his ears.
Anyway i will go and leave you all with huge congratulations to all of the die winners especially to lovely Maria and Lynda i hope that you all enjoy your prize when it arrives. With hugs to all who need, want or could do with,
    love and crafty hugs

  95. Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a really enjoyable video featuring some fabulous dies....I have all of the components but must confess to having not christened them yet which is diabolical I know.....I just adore this background die, it has so many elements which appeal to me and the possibilities with it are endless. I'm still a bit nervous about creating your wonderful frames, you do it with such ease but I don't have a clue about the best sizes and gaps to leave between frames to achieve the multi layered look....maybe I'm just being dense, it wouldn't surprise me:-)
The inking adds a further dimension and really makes the roses pop, and in love the technique with the vellum leaves. Thanks for more inspiration designed to give me a virtual kick up the bum and get me back in my craftroom before it's overtaken with dust:-)
Apologies for being AWOL the past couple of days but I've been super busy with appointments and shopping that by the time evening comes round I'm plum tuckered.
Discovered yesterday that I had mistakenly put my Hochanda order through twice so I am getting two sets in the post....I know I'm a super fan but that's unnecessary even for me......I'll have to repost it after it arrives and wait patiently for a refund, can't help thinking I would have been just as well getting the ovals collection but I was trying to save pennies for the next two shows in ten days.
I'm being driven to distraction by my little angel...I use the term loosely.....Darcey who has turned day into night at the moment and expects me to do the same. I keep disturbing her slumber during the afternoons in the hope that it will make her tired at night but to no avail, she is relentless with her scratching and crying. I try to be firm but I'm as soft as putty with her, whereas my Mum just needs to glare at her and she responds:-( She woke me for a feed at 2 am this morning so I'm slightly bleary eyed today:-)
P, good luck with your vets appointment tomorrow, I do hope that it's nothing seriousxxx
Lynda, hope Annie picks up, the ageing process is a painful one for us especially when the quality of life is deteriorating for them....14 is a great age for a dog though but I hope that you have a long time left with your furry four paws, they're so preciousxxxx
Norah, Rory has clearly made you very proud and quite rightly so, he has met his challenges with gusto and I'm sure he'll do very well next term.
Tracy, you are in my thoughts daily just now as you prepare to say farewell to your beloved Dad. I won't pretend to know how it feels to wait and watch as he deteriorates because my own Dad died within weeks of taking ill, but I do have a sense of what's to come for you and my heart goes out to you as you prepare for it. How brave and considerate of your Dad to decide to stay in hospital, hopefully he will be more comfortable and well cared for there. Sending both you and your sis, not to mention your Dad, huge hugsxxxx
Yvonne, I think perhaps we should call a truce for the time being in preparation for my visit, I know that your jealousy and resentment will be hard to control but if you make an effort I think that I can put aside your irritating tendencies:-) Besides, I get the feeling that some of our fellow Wilsonettes are uncomfortable with our barbed banter so let's give them a break for a while. Sorry if I ruined the end of Andys match for you, I'm not very good at suppressing my anxieties I'm afraid but it was a super exciting match nonetheless.....I don't know if my nerves will stand him reaching the final, not to mention my bladder which is weak at the best of times:-)
Hugs to my buddies such as Beth, Lorraine, pat, Pam, Alison, Frances, Rebecca, Linda, Maria, Theresa, Wheely bad, as well as Tina, mick, Elaine and her boysxxxx

    Crafty hugs,

    Laine1972xxxx

  109. Hi Sue

A lovely quick cards, the die pops such a lot sat slightly in front of the backing card. You picked some great colours to, hugs x

Elaine, it must be hard to see Andrew looking so poorly. He had a very, very big op and he will be better some days than others. Those nurses will keep an eye on him and he's got you to spoil him to. It must be frustrating for both of you but it's a waiting game sadly. I wish so much he repairs well ahead of schedule. Hugs to you both x

Steph, please take care, hugs x and please send Tina E love and hugs from Billy and me x

Norah, Rory is a fine young man no question. I fully appreciate the battles you've had with him and for him. He's obviously learnt from you he has to stand up and be counted. He'll end up being their favourite student, you wait and see! Then he'd have paved the way for others to have opportunities. Hugs to you both x

P, thinking of you for that difficult appointment. Lynda, thinking of you too. Cuddles to both of you and your furry friends from Billy and hugs from me x

Tracy, extra special hugs to you, your sister and your dad x

Sending hugs to Alison, Laine, Lorraine F, Maria, Yvonne, Nanna Tina & Mick, Pat L & Sarah, Theresa and anyone else my tired head has forgotten xxx

Mr W thinks interview went ok. He was one of 5 seen. He'll hear either way soon. Nurse appointment was a bit of a waste of time due to the surgery not correctly conveying information to me in the first place. Mr was ok with taking me back in 10 days and I have managed to get an appointment with a GP... 5th August, just to see someone who vaugely knows my background. It would be mid September to see a Dr I know due to annual holidays. Sad to see a surgery running on half the GPs it should have but that's same almost everywhere in the east. Frustrating as a wash, change into clothes, journey each way and I'm utterly shattered and sore. Leaving now to put Billy out for his bedtime garden break and I'm going to bed.

Sending warm hugs to all and wishing you all a great day tomorrow.

    T x

  113. Evening sue and crafters.
Beautiful card it's just so pretty.

Well ladies I'm delivering my sad news today. Dad passed away just before 6.20 this evening. He waited to we all went out room as he needed a quick tidy up. Then we got a shout to come in quick. He'd been sick when they turned him to get the sheet out. We just managed in on his last few breaths. Wasn't pleasant to watch but I'm so glad I was there. I need to go grieve for a bit now. But ill be back soon my lovely blog friends

    Love to all xx

  114. Oh Tracy I am so sorry to read of your Dad's passing. There is nothing anyone can say or do that helps right now. I hope you can take some comfort knowing that his pain is over and that you were there for him. My condolences to you and your family, you will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
