Hello bloggers! What a whirlwind five days and right into a Wednesday Card giveaway! Yes, I will ask you again to leave comments on this blog post, but to win the card this time. I started by cutting the
Belgian Background out of
sky blue card, using the inside cutting edge to make a rectangular aperture in the centre. I left a wide border around the outside edge and I cut a rectangle frame from the
Double Pierced Noble Rectangles Set B out of
milk card and seated it with mounting foam around the wide edge of the background. I added another layer of foam to the back of the background die cut as well. I embossed a piece of milk card with the
Provencale Lace embossing folder to add some texture then seated the background over it. I cut the
Bruges die out of milk card, then backed it in sky blue. I cut it down the centre, put the two halves together and cut a bit out, then reassembled it. I added it in the aperture opening in the middle of the card with foam. I stamped a sentiment (from the
Fabulous Sentiments clear stamp set by Creative Expressions) and cut it out with the inner oval from the set. I edged it in a pale blue ink to match and mounted it with foam in the centre. I cut a few smaller
poppies in milk card and added them to conceal the cut lines in the die with a blue ribbon bow (from my stash). I added milk and sky blue mats to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 3/4" in size. The winner will be announced on Sat. blog post. All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue. Your launch previews have been so fantastic and obviously well received, you must be so pleased as are we, talented lady.
ReplyDeletePat, how very sad that once again Sarah has been so brave yet unable to achieve the help she needs. I can understand the medical view but her parents and family must be so worried about the consequences, little Sarah really deserves a medal, but will a cyber hug help.
Elaine and Andrew, Tina and Mick, hope all is well with you all.
Tracey, big hugs.
Happy day to all.

Loverly card today sue I'm loving your Christmas dies keep them coming xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue from a grey Padstow, but not to worry I have today's card to bring a smile to my face. I just adore this collection of dies, they compliment each other so well as do the colours you chose. I've seen a few cards on the CESW facebook page replicating this sample and Beverly, one of the many talented ladies from the group does the most wonderful designs with this group of dies, in fact it's hard to separate your beautiful work from Beverly's beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI hope the past 5 days have confirmed to you just how popular your dies are and how many followers there are out there whether they comment each day or on launch weeks only there have been another 100+ daily comments than on a 'normal' day if that was to continue you would soon be back at NUMBER 1 in the blog ratings.
Thank you for the new collection and for being so generous and whoever is chosen to receive this beauty is very very lucky.
Have a good day Sue, hugs as usual form a miserable looking Cornwall xx

Good afternoon Sue and all
ReplyDeleteyes, back to afternoon blogs - it was so much fun to wake up to beautiful Christmas cards for a few days. Talk about confused ! I know I must have the shadow box, gemini (sold out at the moment), village scene but some of the poinsettias, the rustic wreath and the noble circle frames, though not in the release, featured and reminded me they were NEEDED too.
Back to normal - love todays card, the colours and that fabulous Belgium background, lucky winner of this SW original.
Thank you again for your inspiration,
hugs

ReplyDeleteHi sue.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card. Love the colour combo. U have so many ideas I don't know how u do it.
Thank u for all u do u are so passionate about ur work and sharing ur delights with us. The designs this year are superb it made it very difficult to choose so far I've bought four of them and I'd love the shadow box next. My friend fell in love with it when I showed her ur card that'd been done with it. U truly are an inspiration to us all and I for one am grateful for ur blog xx
Well ladies sorry I've been missing.
I've managed to catch up roughly with most of the comments but didn't want to miss the fun of the new release blogathon lol.
I had to take dad to the hospital 2 weeks ago on the mon as he'd been very ill over the weekend and I had to call a doc out. He's ever in his life asked to see a doc so I knew he was bad. The doc told me to up his morphine dose and that made him worse and very sick so off to hospital he went next day.
Several drips later he was ok for a bit then his heart went haywire so onto a monitor. It was pretty scary for him as well as the rest of us. Never had a heart issue before.
Chest X-ray revealed he then had pneumonia more drips etc.
he's had X-rays. Ultra sound a ct and now a bone scan to try find out what's causing this pain in his groin and can't find what's causing it. Still waiting for bone scan result.
A hospital bed was delivered to my house yesterday as they are trying to get him home now. It looks as tho he might not manage out the bed as that's when the pain starts when he tries to put weight on his legs. He's lost so much weight from there.
It's heartbreaking to watch but I'm trying to be strong and sonedays I'm really struggling.
So hopefully he will be home on Friday with carers put into place to help guide me along on our last journey together as father and daughter.
Pat. Sorry to hear Sarah didn't get her op again
Wheely. Sound as tho u had an amazing time at the gig. Alice cooper?? I'm well jealous lol
Angela. Sorry to hear about sooty.
Some one mentioned new great grandchild?? Congrats!!!
Elaine , Mick n Andrew thinking of u too.
Sorry about the long posting but at least now ur up to date. Thank u all who's left well wishes hugs and prayers it means a lot to me. I've another journey to go on now xxx
Love to all who needs it xxx

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, this card is gorgeous and the colours are beautiful
ReplyDeleteBarbaraV
Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteI love to use the milk coloured card with your pastel shaded foundations card as it gives such a soft focus look to the card. Your Belgian set is lovely but unfortunately way down my wish list at the moment as someone brought out new christmas dies that are must haves and needed, so Belgium you will need to wait for a bit longer, lol. Another of the dies that is on this card is the double pierced rectangles that i would dearly love but i have a basic set of rectangles so can't really justify buying another set just because it has piercing on it. OH to be able to have a real rake around CE head quarters and be able to play with everything would be my idea of what i would wish for most in this world, but hey ho back to reality for me. Thank you Sue for a beautiful card that i know i would love to receive. I hope you have a great day flower now that all the chaos of the launch is over with and you can have a more leisurely day(ha ha ha who am i kidding).
Oh Pat flower i am so very sorry that poor wee Sarah has got so far and then they cannot do the operation on her, she must be so down but i suppose they are trying in their way to give her the best quality of life after the op as well so all things must be taken in to consideration, but the poor wee lamb seems to have been getting halfway through that never ending tunnel only to be turned back numerous times now. I am sending her some wee hugs to keep her and you going and i can only pray that sometime soon things will be a ok for to carry through with the op.
Tina and Mick, oh you must be so thrilled at having your baby grandson here, a new wee person for cuddles and kisses, but also to see him and all his firsts. Mick, i am sending you healing hugs flower as there is a new wee baby girl and a baby boy that is looking forward to sitting on their Grampas' knee and getting taken out a walk with him, so i do hope that you are getting stronger each day.
Elaine, how is your Andrew? I hope that you have got him back from hospital and that his bp is more regulated. Sending him get well hugs in the hope that it will let you see him taking 2 steps forward and only the 1 back flower.
Oh Tracy flower, i am so sorry that your beloved dad is going through such pain and that there is nothing you can do to stop it. I thnk yours must have been made from the same stiff stuff that my beloved daddy was made of as he only had a couple of pages of notes and you knew when there was something wrong with him as he did not do doctors, so my heart goes out to you my flower friend. I hope that you will be able to hold on to some good things, however so slight from this time that you have left with your dad, my thoughts and prayers are with you flower along with the hugs that i sed you to try and keep you going.
Hugs to all those who need, want or could do with,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (glenochil)

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have added a Wednesday give away card to the end of your Christmas marathon! You are very kind. The card is beautiful and as I've said many times before, I love blue!
Tracy - my heart goes out to you! You will never regret doing this for your Dad - it isn't easy - but with the help of Carers you will do it! Do you feel stronger in yourself now? I do hope so as you have had an awful lot to deal with just lately! Hugs for both you and Dad!
Pat - I'm so very sorry little Sarah and the rest of the family have had yet another set back! Thinking of you all and sending hugs to you too.
Well - it's raining cats and dogs here but if that's all I've got to complain about I'm very well off!!!

ReplyDeleteThank goodness for such a blue and cheerful card today as I'm sat looking out at a dark and rainy scene over Lake Windermere and your blue is the only blue I think that I'll be seeing today. Still, I needed this day of calmness after your whirlwind Christmas die launch. Hugs x P Austen
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI need to replenish my stock of off white card, I had been wondering if the foundation milk card would suit, but looking at your beautiful card it seems to be quite a deep cream, so inadvertently you have answered my question.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteWell Sue, have you just about managed to catch your breath today after the marathon Blogathon? It was fabulous but just like having Christmas every day would be wrong on so many levels and ruin the excitement and anticipation of the day, so too would be having your wonderful launches every day because we can savour and appreciate them more when they happen only a few times a year.
So yes, back to reality, but what a reality it is when it features one of your much sought after weekly giveaways....a card done by your very skilled hands is a prize to beat all prizes in my opinion.....and this weeks is characteristically stunning! I adore everything about it and wonder if some of the gorgeous Belgian dies used will feature in your show tomorrow.....I hope so because they have achieved a striking background that is very reminiscent of the Art Deco period. The poppies form a beautiful embellishment and the Wedgewood colour scheme is striking. Breathtaking card Sue, you should be very proud of your work and it would be an absolute honour and privilege to adopt this little gem:-)
Tracy, it's lovely to hear from you again, I was so worried about you and your Dad during your absence, fearing the worst, so I am glad that you are both still fighting your corner in the only way you know how. The road that lies ahead will be so challenging but I'm sure that you have the strength of character to cope, my only hope is that your Dad can be as comfortable and pain free as possible so that you can find the times to cherish with him in his final months that you both deserve. Losing my Dad is still raw so I can relate to what you must be feeling but remember that we are here for you whenever you need a friendxxxx
Pat, boy , have you and Sarah been through a roller coaster of emotions only to find yourself back at square one....you have a great attitude though, you are no worse off than before but still the disappointment must be palpable:-( the risks were too great this time but hopefully sometime in the near future something may happen to change that prognosis and the operation can go ahead as planned. Sarah is so young and hopefully she will bounce back from this setback. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you try to move forwardxxxx
Elaine, how is Andrew, has he been discharged from hospital yet?
Nana Tina, huge congrats on your little bundles of joy, it gives Mick plenty to fight for as he battles to recover.....Ashton, what a lovely name:-)
Yvonne, I'm going to try my best to be nice to you for a change because you've clearly had a rough time of it lately but don't get too used to it because my generosity can only last so long before the ugly truth resurfaces:-) lovely to have my sparring partner back on the blog though, everybody needs a human punchbag at times and you're mine my dear:-).....you know you can take it, skin like a rhinoceros that's you that is:-)....,You are being careful to warn me that you have no plans to do anything special like a bit of housework prior to my visit so it's a good job that I'm chronically short sighted with a poor sense of smell otherwise I'd be in trouble! I think that I can forgive your domestic failings if you promise to make me some cheesecake and fudge in honour of my arrival:-)
Huge cuddles to Beth, Rebecca, Jan, Maria, Theresa, Lorraine, Linda, P, Pam, Wheely bad, Frances and all my blog buddiesxxxx
Crafty hugs,
Laine1972xxxx

ReplyDeleteGood evening, Sue, I haven't seen all the Christmas Collection blog posts yet, as I was busy preparing for
ReplyDeletemy first trip away since November !
I needed to renew my passport in February , but hadn't done so until the end of May after losing Sooty.
I wouldn't leave her while she was still with me, because we nearly lost her the end of December when she was so ill.
I really like what I've seen of the Christmas collection so far and love today's card.
It would be lovely to win the card, especially as today's my birthday !!
Hugs and Best Wishes to you all, especially those of you who are ill or dealing with sadness.
Angela, currently in sunny Dubai Xx
Really love this card today. The background is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteReally love this card today. The background is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteReally love this card today. The background is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card Sue. Love the color contrast that you have used.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Well I have to say Sue that I really enjoyed your five days of gorgeous new Christmas dies !!! I do have quite a few favourite dies from this launch and I have no idea what to but first, apart from the Christmas Roses dies which arrived today. They are beautiful !!! I have about four Birthday cards to make first though before I can start on Christmas cards !!!
ReplyDeleteI think today's sky blue and milk Belgium card is really beautiful Sue !!! The Belgium background die is beautiful and I love the cute little poppies dies. I have these dies and I really love them and use them lots. I often tend to go for flower dies as my first purchases when you bring out your new die releases. Flowers are my favourite dies and in my opinion you can never have too many flowers !!! Thank you for sharing today's gorgeous card with us, and it is a Wednesday card giveaway too. You are so kind and generous Sue. I am really looking forward to seeing you on Hochana tomorrow. I just can't wait !!!
Take care Sue. Sending you lots of love and hugs from Tres x x x
Sending lots of love and hugs to everyone from Tres x x x
Evening Sue
ReplyDeleteDon't know why but I expected to see another Christmas card today.
This is lovely and would look so perfect in my house. I think blue on a card is my favourite and I find myself using many different hues on many of my cards.
The Belgian collection is such a wonderful selection and the background makes for a completely amazing result. Thank you Sue for another knockout x
I have come to the conclusion that my brain cell is really struggling to get into first gear. It was only today when I came on to the blog that I realised that you are gracing our screens tomorrow for 2 hours. How could I miss that? What a doughnut!! Such exciting news which softens the blow of the latest launch being over. I will be glued to the screen tomorrow and then we will have you for another 2 hours on Friday and Saturday. How lucky are we?
Tracy - I am so sorry that things are not brighter for you my love. Staying strong for someone else is sometimes the biggest struggle of all. Life seems so unfair at times and the many questions just don't seem to have any logical answers. Sending you love, hugs and smiles hun x
Theresa - so good to be back - thanks for missing me x
Pat L - so sorry that things are not diffeent for Sarah. Life throws such unfair situations at us and we are powerless to change things. Big hugs for you and yours x
Elaine - how is Andrew? I hope you have him back home. Lots of love x
Nana Tina - oh how lovely - new babies are such a gift. Hugs all round especially for you and Mick x
Laine - what can I say? You being nice to me - that will take some getting used to and I bet you will find it a challenge! May manage a cheesecake or 2 during your visit. I am sure I can find some other culinary treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. Your pleasure will distract you from any cleanliness issues and matters of neglect regarding dust and cobwebs x
Well need to go and get some shut eye so that I am bright eyed and bushy tailed for tomorrow's 2 hour feature - yippee x
Love to everyone especially my special blog buddies x
Night sleep tight

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Sue xx all of your launch cards have been stunning such a fabulous selection of festive dies xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteStunning card.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteThis card is very elegant and classy.
Such a pretty card Sue, love that colour combination!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteI love the colours, the same as I had picked out for the craft/ storage/ guest room. I love the Belgian dies & on the list. The poppies and ribbon are so pretty & I love the sentiment stamped on the die in the centre (is it Bruges? It was a long time reading comments). I'm so looking forward to Friday & Saturday... or is Saturday a repeat of Friday? Anyway, Mr has been instructed that Friday evening is Sue time. He'll have to wait til after to have his daily moan about work, he said he was fine with that as he finds watching you quite relaxing, maybe I'll make a papercrafter of him yet (he may not get a choice... see later in my post). Well done & Congratulations on a great launch. Hugs, T x
Pat, I'm so gutted they felt Sarah's op was too dangerous. I was typing as you posted so didn't see your post last night til after mine had loaded, I felt so sad & I feel for her so much. Techniques change & I hope beyond hope that something or someone comes through for her, there are hospitals all over the UK & I have my fingers crossed that one of them will release news soon of a safe procedure for tricky cases like Sarahs. She's so brave & I send her the biggest hugs ever. Sending hugs for you & her mum & dad too x
Tracy, I'm so sorry love. I hope your dad's pain can be controlled. Being his carer is the greatest gift you could ever give him. My Dad did it for my Nanna & with the carers help you will manage brilliantly I'm sure of it. I hope that whatever time there is together, be it a long or short time, that it is extra special. Sending big hugs to you both x
Theresa W, Laine & Lynda- hugs back at all 3 of you... not a bad day at all today :-) Lynda, Billy sends big dog furry hugs xxx
My brother & his fiancée are getting married in 16 months. I said I'd make wedding jewellery as my gift, there's plenty of time & a small wedding party. They'd like me to design & make stationary too (they're desperately saving for a house & I offered, I did warn it'd be cheaper to buy me the card to do it than pay for them, they saw I was right!) plus I'll help my mum do decorations. There's lots of time so if I start just a few minutes a day & build up it'll be a push that'll help me as much as helping them. They're happy to help in production line, Mr may need to help too. Good thing he's watching Sue on Friday! Caught a migraine in its tracks twice this evening, meds in before it got bad, glad I seem to be able spot them coming better now. Messed with my vision hence late post, usual age & a half to write post so going straight to bed to dream of dies I'll "need" to complete my task. Any excuse! Sorry for long post but had to share this with you all, you're all crafter's so you know it's a big honour to be asked to craft for a wedding.
Extra big hugs to my special friends, and a big hug to everyone no matter where you are reading this from. Got extra hugs for anyone that needs them. Take care of yourselves & see you very soon,
T xxx
