Hello crafters! A pretty thank you card for today's blog post! I started this card from the centre and worked outward. First I cut the Thank You Circle in white. I used the different circular cutting edges to create a black frame for it. I added mounting foam to the back to raise it and cut the inside from the Birthday circle frame to go inside the frame. I added a black backing to it and recessed it into the centre of the frame. I stamped a thank you sentiment and cut it out with the smaller circle in the set and raised it for the very centre. I added three small blue flowers below the sentiment as a small accents. I seated my thank you circle on a piece of blue card with the Melbourne outer decorative piece cut out of it. It fits very nicely around the Perspective Circle dies. I used the Noble Squares set A and B to create a multi level white frame and a thin black frame and mounted it over the blue card. I raised the entire piece on to another piece of white card. I cut four Australian Borders in white and glued the around the edge of the raised square, mitring the corners with my scissors before gluing them down. I finished the card with just white and black mats. The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteLaine - thanks, yes, babes doing fine (Livvy, Neenaah and Pippin!) starting to wean this week also hopefully toilet trained as well after 'mummy' duties. Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteLovely card, the Australian border frames it so well. I would like to get some of the circular word dies but am hanging on until the new Christmas collection and of course the couple of New Zealand dies ..........lol !!
The weather has fined up here today, lots of damage to beaches but the NSW south coast , Victoria and Tasmania were still getting rain and lots of wind, we are having our biggest tides of the year at the moment so that is affecting the rivers and water getting away. Thinking of all that are affected, take care.
Happy to hear of improvements from Nanna Tina and Tracey,
Hugs

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. I love the way the centre focal point draws your eye into the main sentiment, which of course is the main message of the whole card.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I've tried to cut a thin square to go over the border as you have I find it warps slightly and loses its shape making it a little tricky to keep it from going squiff, I have to be doing something wrong - maybe I'm making it too thin ?
Either way, I love making borders for my cards, they can either add the wow factor to a very special occasion card or, border one of your many beautiful floral dies to make one of those gorgeous CAS cards either the larger cards or those smaller cards that some prefer to make, I'm really saving hard now for both the rectangle and circle sets as until I got both square dies I had no idea how valuable they are to your designs.
Today's card is beautiful Sue and the sentiment comes back to you for so many reasons. xxx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, love how the Melbourne die cut into the blue card frames the thank you circle it's a card on its own
Sending special hugs to Tracy and dad, Nanna Tina and Mick and Elaine and Andrew and to anyone else who needs one

Hi Sue, and Thank You for a pretty and slightly different style of card. Anyone who received this would know how much they were appreciated .
ReplyDeleteMuriel - stay safe, the reports here are dreadful.
'P' - Pippin! Coincidence? I am trying not to think about the hay cutting machine, the poor carer :(
Hope everyone can enjoy the sunshine today, I am going to do the ironing now before the sun comes round and the kitchen gets too hot, the greenhouse is already at 30C!

Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes
ReplyDeleteI think that this is the card that i need to make for my friend who is lovely but it's hard doing a thank you card for a man. This is just the thing Sue now all i need is the dies to do it with or even just the thank you die and i can play with dies i have. The colour combination is perfect for that special someone that is definitely not gone on pinks and frills, lol. Thank you Sue for such a great ideal card that could be made to say anything for the men in our lives that can be quite hard to get for.
Well i have been making up some wedding cards for my hubby to pick from for his daughter who is getting married on the 26th of this month, i am hoping that it is going to be as gorgeous a day as it has been up here for almost a fortnight now. I've been along to see the lassie that Kirsten has been getting this past 18 months to colour her hair to see what she can do with mine. I have got this mortal fear of hairdressers as you tell them what you want and they do what they want because it'll suit you better. Hmm, so for the past number of decades i have cut my own and i normally get Kirsten just to colour it for me(as i have grey hair, there's a surprise)as she doesn't like my grey. I have told her on numerous occasions that i have earned every one of those grey hairs between her and her brother and step/half sister and any way isn't grey hair suppose to be distinguished? She says no, they should be extinguished, lol. Any how her and the boys have decided that i need a professional to do my hair. As i keep telling her, a professional does do my hair....ME, and then comes the remark back saying "exactly Mum, you need another professional to finish the cutting you started". Cheeky wee midden, there is a knack to cutting your own hair especially when it is long and you want to keep it that way. She no longer goes on the park and ride with me into Stirling as all i do is look at the people in front of me hair do's.
RIght i will go and leave you all again to hopefully a lovely day wherever you are, sending hugs to Tracy and Dad, Tina and Mick, Tina E, Claire and Toby and to all others that need, want or could just do with them, there is plenty to go around to lovely friends,
Love and crafty hugs

Hello my lovelies, couldn't visit first thing as I had to go to a funeral. My husband's uncle, the dread cancer got him. So very sad for his close family. Hubby appreciated my support so that was nice.
ReplyDeleteSue, this is a fantastic thank you card. So lovely without frills and flowers.
My feet are still sore from yesterday. I could do with a few days rest but I might be going out tonight and then Dr's tomorrow.
Sending love n hugs to all xxx

Hi sue
ReplyDeleteSmashing card as always. Big thank u for sharing ur cards and letting us to ramble on lol xx
Dad got home. He's very crabbit but understandable as we take things out on those we love. He's so tired bless him. I'm taking it in the chin as he hides his feelings well.
Got the beatson hospital on thurs to see what treatment they may provide for him and a lady from the hospice is coming to see him on wed. She apparently dealt with his partner Katie when she came to the end of her life.
I stayed away when things got bad as I couldn't handle seeing my dad upset. Now I'm going to have to face it. I guess I'm going to have to pull my strength out of the bag somewhere. And I have u lot to ramble to. It helps so much.
Thank u all from the bottom of my heart x
