Hello Friend

Hi bloggers!  I just love the detail in this Magnolia Adornment and thought it would look lovely done as a background.  What do you think?  I used the Magnolia Adornment decorative die without the outer cutting edge to cut the design four times into a piece of Mocha card.  I added a piece of sticky adhesive sheet behind it and backed it with a piece of milk card to show through from the back.  For the  exposed adhesive on the front, I burnished it with Diamond Sprinkles to add a bit of bling, but very subtly.  I wrapped a piece of two tone Mocha ribbon around the left side then added a double bow.  I stamped a friendly sentiment and framed it with the smaller die in the centre of the Melbourne die set.  I added a thin Mocha card frame to it as an accent and adorned it with small cream pearls.  I added a pierced milk mat, a thin Mocha mat and another milk mat to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  10 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  20. What a great card, Sue, easy to achieve (apart from tying the bow!) This die is the only one I have from the latest collection and have only done a test cut so far, and very easy it was for such an ornate die.
Pam - you always say what I'd like to - only so much better!! So thank you.
Sue - went on cheesecloth hunt yesterday - the store starting with B and ending with Q duly had its paint aisle visited - only they'd never heard of it. What? So came home and ordered online. Will be fully prepared!! Grunge ahead.
Andrew and Mick - well wishes as ever. Wheely too, a lot to cope with.
Tracy - so hard for you and your Dad, hoping the pain is under control and he can manage some eating. Think of you so much, be brave.

  29. Hi Sue
What a beautiful sophisticated card today and such a lovely bow, reminds me of a very expensive box of chocolates ( the sort you keep the ribbon from because we crafters never miss an oportunity do we!!). This die is so pretty and looking at the card you could make it into a simple sympathy card without the bling and bow, we all know these are not the easiest cards to make. So versatile Sue, I'm off to look at my other configuration dies now, although this die is calling to me quite loudly now! Thank you for sharing.

  33. Hi Sue
I think your card is stunning, loving the background and color your ribbon really finishes the card off a treat.

Andrew took a couple of walks yesterday , and his color was a lot better , the staff had trouble getting the intravenous drip in ,after 55mins they gave up so allowed us 10 mins to see him before visiting was over, they said the drip had to go in today so someone was coming later to try, Andrew also had to have a scan as there are a couple of things that need looking into.
We will know the results later today.
When i phoned last night the nurse said they are sure the drip went into the vein but into the back ? not sure what that means , but Andrew was going for an XRay to see how things were looking .
    Take Care everyone

Lovely card I don't know how u manage to come up with all the ideas but I guess that's why ur our queen of craft. Lol

Well ladies dad ate a bit more after the hospital yesterday. I guess being told eat more or die quicker seems to have worked. If that wasn't an incentive to get treatment to prolong the cancer I don't know what is. So when we got home he several small meals. Granted they'd gave him liquid morphine and ibuprofen on top of his other drugs. But it's taken the pain away and he's happy. I feel helpless when he's suffering.
Going to a carers day today at the hospice in Ayr to see what's involved and to speak to others who are on the same journey.

Johanna. Thanks for ur support I'm guessing it's bringing back memories for u. I hope u got the support u needed when u went thru it. And any tips u can give I'll gladly take on board xx

Thank u all for ur kind wishes as always xx

  61. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a real opulent looking card Sue with the mocca card and the choice of ribbon. This is definitely for that friend that we all have who is stylish with their designer clothes and house. Mines is more a but and ben with not enough room so would look decidedly out of place. I think if it came here it would be saying to itself, "Oh (in that posh voice) please do get me out of here, i am not accustomed to living in these sort of surroundings" hee hee hee. Right now i've got my normal head back instead of the silly one i hope you have a great day Sue and thank you for the beautiful card.
Rory's away up to Glasgow with the college today to the transport museum which would be right up my street but unfortunately not Rory's. He was fine going to it when he was at school as Gordon his history cum games cum numerous other hats brought things to life for him and he enjoyed that. I think because he isn't going with Gordon that is why he is not looking forward to it. Gordon like the rest of the teachers at the Secondary Support Service were teachers that wanted to teach these children and because they had more flexability they didn't just stay in class, they went all sorts of places from up the Ochil Hills to Culross(pronunced coo ris). These teachers were multi talented in numerous subjects and very special people. Anyway this is the colleges' idea of a treat for the last day of term for them.
We have had glorious weather the past fortnight and today it is raining, of course because it is Harry's birthday party tomorrow and there is going to be a bouncy castle and barbeque and games. You can always bet your bottom dollar that we will get horrible weather just when you have everything arranged for a party. Oh well just as well Harry's other Gran and Grandad have a large bungalow to accomodate all the people, lol. His party is early because they arranged their "summer" holidays to lord knows where and won't be here for his birthday on Thursday. Now they see him every day and have done since he was born a year ago and they still managed to book a holiday on his special day. They go away again in September and then at the start of December and then again in February so as you can see they just couldn't miss or have it earlier or later than his birthday. I would settle for just one holiday in the year never mind 4 plus weekends away into the bargain. Oh well never mind i can look forward to a couple of days perhaps later on with my friends again for a meet up.
Have a lovely day everyone even if it is raining just think it is saving you going out with a watering can to water all your new borderies that you have all planted and tubs, it is also making them all bright and fresh looking again with a little wash from the rain. Hugs to all the Wilsonettes that need or could do with or maybe just want, you are welcome to them

  97. Hi Sue, the bow makes this look such a classy card (I agree with the chocolate boxes other Wilsonettes mention). I love the colours, the dies used, all those little pearls and the bow itself although the card is a little large for me. I wonder if it would look as good as a 7" x 7" with just two diecuts, probably not.

  105. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Another showstopper! This card is beautifully elegant, the colour palette is rich and sumptuous with just the right amount of sparkle to enhance the Magnolia adornment die. I love the huge bow, where oh where did you pick up that gorgeous ribbon? It reminds me of that iconic quote "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get next" :-) I'm also getting flashbacks of the Milk Tray advert with the man in black going to extreme lengths to deliver the box of choccies......ladies of a certain age will remember this:-)
Anyways, back to the card, I love it more than a box from Thorntons....high praise indeed!.....it may be on the large side but who cares, bigger is most definitely better in this instance.
Can I just say that yesterday's card was jaw droppingly fabulous, I love it when you release your inner grunge monster:-) please do more of this style of card, it really suits your style and flair for the magnificent.
Well, good weather has officially ended and the rain is back with a sting in it's tail:-( I had developed quite a routine of having a morning bath, washing my hair, doing a spot of housework before spending the afternoon lounging in the sunshine, now I'm back to reality with a bump....I dearly hope that that good spell wasn't the sum of our summer!
It has been brought to my attention that certain cheeky Wilsonettes ie Yvonne, have been lobbying for their name to be used in your frames and tags range. Can I suggest that since the names have been demure and sophisticated thus far, that this particular name would cast a shadow bordering on 'common' across the range and that something with more class such as Lorraine would be far more in keeping with the theme....just a thought. And while we are on the subject, would Croydon, Yvonne's hometown , really be first choice on a list of potential place names for a future British set? How about cities with cultural and historical significance such as Stirling?
I can't wait until the next release later this month and then your next appearance on Hochanda, it's so exciting:-) What delights will you have in store, how can you possibly top what has been released before? I don't know how but you always do.
Tracy, you must feel overwhelmed by the enormity of your situation, my heart goes out to you. You have proved that you have an inner strength though and that will hopefully carry you through this experience because your Dad needs you to be there for him as his illness develops. I hope the morphine keeps him comfortable and that in turn he is able to eat enough to boost his weight. Thinking of you bothxxxx

  109. Hi Sue. WOW !!! Your card today is gorgeous !!! I think this is a simple but very classy, elegant card !!! Really beautiful Sue. I love the Mocha card you have used with the milk card. I recently bought some of the Mocha cardstock and it is a great colour to have as it goes with lots of colours of cardstock. The Magnolia die looks very pretty. Another die for my huge wish list !!! I love the ribbon you have used to. What a great match with the Mocha cardstock. Thank you for sharing another wonderful card. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x
