Best Wishes

Good Sunday morning all!  I started by embossing a square of wisteria card with the Eternal Ivy embossing folder for some background texture.  Next I cut two of the Ravello Striplet out of coconut white card.  I backed them both with a solid white backing piece then cut them in half down the centre.  I glued all four pieces to the edges of the embossed background, overlapping them at the corners.  I cut thin strips out of wisteria card and glued them to the edges as accents.  For the focal element, I cut the Hamilton die out of wisteria card and backed it in white.  I mounted that to the centre of the card, then added another Hamilton die cut in white but I removed a bit of the design so that it could be layered up and still show some of the original die underneath it. I had originally trimmed it a bit differently but was showed a cleaner way by a friend from the blog so used that as it showed off the lower die cut much better!   I stamped a sentiment from the PetiteLavish  Sentiment set by Cr. Exp. and seated a New Zealand tag frame over it cut in wisteria and backed in white.  I finished the card in my usual manner with pierced mats and layers and added flatback pearls to the dies as accents.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.

  4. Sunday smiles to you Sue. I don't know what it is that made me smile when today's card loaded, whether it was the beautiful simplicity of the border or the gorgeous collection of dies that makes up the centre focal point, but it's so beautiful and soothing both at the same time (the soothing nature must come from the gentle colour of the wisteria coloured card as it's such a subtle colour)
Many congratulations to the 3 ladies that have been chosen as comment winners this week, enjoy playing with your gift.
Whatever your plans for the day Sue, hope it's enjoyable for you xxx

What a pretty card today, I do like the whisteria coloured card. The embossing folder is pretty too and really makes a perfect background for the dies. Thank you for sharing. Hubby was going to treat me to a die as an extra birthday present yesterday but when we got to the craft shop they didn't have the ones I really wanted. I did find a beautiful stamp of yours though in their 50% off sale so that and a couple of ink pads were my treat. Mind you the whole day became a bit of a disaster involving a lot of driving and waiting for people so I cancelled my birthday and will hopefully have it today instead!! Haha. Congratulations to all the lucky winners.

  65. Good morning to the lovely Sue and the happy Wilsonettes,
This is such a lovely card Sue in the wisteria and white and such a great way of getting a new look from your dies. The ravello frame is lovely going around the outside showing off both it and the embossing that you have done on the wisteria card. I don't have the Austrailia set yet nor the ravello but i have the New Zealand tag so i could make a start on it, lol. Thank you Sue for a lovely start to Sunday morning and for the inspiration that you bring with you.
Well done to all of this weeks winners, i hope that you have great fun with your prize when it arrives.
Well it is such a beautiful day here at the Ochil Hills today with hardly a breath of wind. 81. G'Day Sue and all Wilsonettes,
What a delightful card! I would never have guessed that the border was made from a striplet cut in half down the middle, it's so very effective isn't it. I've now got my very first mini striplet so will be playing with that very soon.
After two days of rain, the sun is shining today and it called to me to get out and finish the path I'd started about a week ago. It's nothing special, just gravel dividing where the path used to be in half so that I can get to the fruit trees, the compost bin and the bird feeders in the tree. After marking out where it was to go, I made a shallow channel and kept my fingers crossed that my dog - just turned 8 this month and only now learnt how to dig - left it alone until I was ready to do some more. This morning I've been knocking in bamboo edging, laying the weed fabric and then dragging around five 25kg sacks of chipped granite (not easy with my back problems). It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't had the sacks from when I did the first little path and the material hadn't started to degrade!! Imagine this...I pick up the edge of the bag and pull, only to end up with a bit of plastic in my hand lol.
This will make you all chuckle though...I'm bending over clearing up the dreaded dog pooh when I feel something on my back...it's only my cat thinking he's found a great new place to sit. He was quite settled and I was groping my way around the garden like the hunchback. Did he get off when I slowly straightened up? Did he heck as like...he just made his way up to my shoulder and I ended up with a huge fluffy black thing doing a parrot impression lol. He's not a small cat either, he's almost as tall as the dog!!

  101. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Stunning card, particularly love the pale tones of the wisteria cardstock which I fortunately bought just last week. Ingenious use of a striplet die, I never seem to be able to think out of the box like you can, we all need a Sue Wilson in our lives:-)
The New Zealand collection is my current favourite....until I save the pennies and pounds for the Swiss collection.....and it certainly makes for a striking focal point. I meant to say this to you before, Thankyou for putting the details of the stamp sets you have chosen to use, it's really helpful.
Sunshine in Stirling today so I thought I might get a cheeky couple of hours sunbathing.....I lasted twenty minutes, what a waste of suntan lotion! Whilst the sun was out and the wind wasn't blustering, it was actually quite warm but at five and a half stones and with more meat on a toothpick, I was feeling the chill:-( what a baby!
Retreated indoors and watched some of the French Open tennis instead.
My brother brought me a belated birthday trifle, made to order with my favourite mandarin segments plus pineapple and orange jelly , it is scrumptious with the added benefit that You can't use candles so I can't be reminded of how old I am by the candles generating enough light for the whole of Stirling whilst burning my eyebrows:-)
Nana Tina, so glad that Mick is tolerating his food, hopefully he's well on the road to recoveryxxxx
Norah, I'm fortunate enough to live at the base of the Ochils too, we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area, I never tire of looking at them and how their colours change with the quality of lightxxx
Jan, that sounds like fun with your granddaughter, I hope she really enjoys her recital.....I was four when I danced on stage with my ballet class to Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard, it was the first time that I had worn makeup, I felt so grown up:-)
Lorraine, sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your shopping trip, good news about your breast appointment and results though, keep your chin up honey:-)
Now, Yvonne , hello stranger! How super to have you back on the blog, you have been missed....I did try to fill the gap but fell somewhere short, I didn't have the necessary vitriol and was thus a poor substitute:-( I know from our chats that your boys have been badly behaved, don't you think it's time you dusted off that old S&M Ann Summers whip you've been hanging on to, and use it to encourage them to tow the line? Failing that, cracking their heads together seems a viable option- it's about time they realised that your health is more important than their petty squabbles....we've all been there though with our siblings, I could gratefully wring my brothers neck sometimes:-) Worst case scenario, getting a retirement bungalow on your own seems like a great idea, it's always advise able to downsize as you advance in years:-)
Wheely Bad, lovely to hear from you again, take carexxx
Bejay, what a funny story about your cat, it really made me giggle:-)Good luck with the landscaping, it sounds like back breaking work so be carefulxxx
Huge hugs to Beth, Rebecca, Maria, Theresa, pat, Pam P, Frances, Tracy, Linda, Lynda and deb c, plus cuddles to anyone else in need for whatever reasonxxxx

    Crafty hugs

  107. Hello Sue,

Beautiful card, I love the Wisteria colour. We have two Wiateria growing in our garden. One grows over an arch, last week it was at its best, the perfume as you walked through the arch was exquisite. This card sings to me, reminding me of the beauty of nature.

    Love Brenda xxx
