Hello my craft friends! I have added a new collection called Special Occasion to my die line. I have always wanted to design some Wedding dies, but these can be used for more than just weddings. Oh, I'd got my passport ready and euro's gathered together from our last trip to Skiathos before I got poorly (probably not worth much now anyways) instead I'm invited to a special occasion with flat hair, pj's and no slap !! What a change of direction Sue, this is something I'd not have expected from our Sue amazing frame die Wilson. I love the arbour gate die and yes it will be so useful (the thought of a font, candle, and ornate arched church windows have just come to mind) for the next special occasion die collection as Christenings are still big here in the UK and I get asked for quite a few cards. I love the couple, but it's such a pitty you couldn't have released this idea a few years ago before other companies had this idea (I really hope this comment hasn't offended you) it has to be said that this is the prettiest gate I've ever seen and can be used for other occasions and I'm sure it won't be too long before the artists snip and cut 'ouch' at this to find other shapes like butterflies etc now that will be interesting to see what comes from this gate.

By snipping the die cut apart you can also make Mr & Mr or Mrs & Mrs wedding cards/invitations.

I saw these at Ally Pally and wondered about getting them as I do loads of wedding etc. cards, but wasn't sure, so opted for the safe option of the beautiful Mr&Mrs die, now I wish I had picked them up, the bride and groom look so elegant with the arbour gate behind, I really think this is a collection I will have to get in it's entirety!!!

The gate die is lovely and I can see many uses other than weddings for this. Being the cynical old spinster that I am, I looked at the wedding couple in a different way - hope that others may not be offended by my warped sense of humour when I say that I see this die being used in a slightly different way! I have noticed that it is becoming common in the US for divorce cards ....... I will let you use your imaginations now.

I'm so glad it's over and pray that it doesn't return.

Morning Sue. What can i say but WOW WOW WOW to both the card and the dies. These stunning dies have gone straight to the top of my wish list. Just a shame you have brought them out now as i made my sons wedding invitations for his wedding two weeks ago i would have so loved to have had these to make them, never mind i still NEED them lol.

Good morning Sue, I saw the ornate gate die & while I loved it felt it would be too big & have limited use! Why can't I think outside the box like you?? It looks lovely behind the circle & certainly makes for a lovely card. Can't wait to see what is next and like Steph would love to see a font & church window.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Sue and that Arbour Gate is stunning with its special notched spaces for where to embellish it. Any couple receiving this as a wedding card would surely fall in love with it. I think St Peters gate to heaven must look something like this as he would need a big set of gates like this for everyone to enter. Thank you Sue for such a stunning die set and for all the work that you put in to bring your dies and creations to life.
Tracy flower, wishing you all the very best for today now that you have finally come to the end of a very long dark tunnel. I know that you will probably feel yucky after todays treatment but it is so little in comparison to what you have been through. Sending hugs your way flower just to keep you going.

I wish I'd had these dies when making wedding stationery for my son's wedding a few years ago. Effective. Wedding stationery is very personal but it's highly unlikely that anyone on the planet would find these dies unsuitable.

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and delicate card which would most certainly be a treasured gift to any newlyweds. The intricacy of the Happy Couple and the backdrop of the Arbour Gate
These are the dies which caused a little gasp of surprise (as well as much oohing) when I first saw them. I will admit to being a little thrown off guard when I first saw them as it would appear that they are specialised and quite 'niche'.
Now that I have seen you work your magic I am all in a dither as I am now picturing so many possibilities of the wonderful cards which would be a delight for anyone to receive. They are most certainly objets d'art x

I am itching to let my creative juices loose but sadly I will have to exercise patience as that oomph which I had hoped would return today has obviously decided that it is going for a mini break as oppose to just an away day - nothing new there and at least I can concentrate all my efforts and the little energy I do have on the big reveals of these stunning new creations x
Still in bed and George bought me a lovely cup of coffee before he left for work. Not intending to indulge in any activity for now as the warning signs are screaming - rest up x

The Arbour Gate is so beautiful, makes a lovely backing for the bride and groom but I think will be a stunner as the center piece of any card I love it.
