Hi crafters! I started by cutting strips from one of the patterns in my Classic Elegance paper pad. I matted them with coconut white card and mounted them on foam for a triple panel background. Next I cut the Melboune die in white and backed it with a solid cut from the coordinating paper pattern. I stamped the sentiment which is from Phill Martins set called Petite Scribbled Sentiment Occasions. I covered it with a piece of a sticky adhesive sheet, then cut the smaller die in the Melboune set out of white. I backed it in white and cut the centre out to create a frame. I added mounting foam to the back then placed it over the sentiment with the adhesive exposed. Next I sprinkled Diamond Snow over the exposed adhesive. I mounted it in the centre of the larger Melboune die and added white flatback pearls as accents. I cut three Beaded Swirl Flourishes out of white. I added one to the top and one to the bottom opposite corner and then cut the last one up and added a few more bits from it to both sides. I accented the opposite corners with three small clear Dazzlers and added pearls to the flourishes too. I completed the card with two white layers and my usual piercing. The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue & lovely Wilsonettes* WOW! Talk about taking my breath away, this one sure does that (although I need every breath I can get at my age Lol) I’m missing something from my stash, the Classic Elegance paper pad, stunning, eye-catching, spectacular, shall I go on*will soon rectify that though asap. Let me loose on dies, stamps, sticky sheets (not forgetting the shimmer glue* Lol) diamond snow, dazzlers etc & I still would not have come up, anywhere near with this elegant & splendored beauty. Thank you for sharing your astounding & talented gift with us today Sue, you inspire such incredible encouragement to each one of us x x x

ALIMECCA* Hope you are recovered from Migraine x
Poor Mr B* he has to have his yearly Cholesterol test today at 9.20 & that meant a starvation diet from 6pm last night, well he loves his food so much that if I was so inclined I could make him sit, heel or fetch the ball, along with the girls, just by offering him a treat. Well I forgot this morning & made him a cup of tea & before you could say boo to a goose, when the penny dropped, he was off into the lounge to drink it. I legged after him & as he sat down to take a sip I snatched the cup away & said “what on earth are you doing babe you cannot have that”. The look on his face was a right picture it was so heart-rending & taken aback. Is it the same & that easy to take candy from a baby do you think Lol x
I must away now my friends take care & love ‘n’ (((HUGS))) to you all & special love ‘n’ (((huggles))) to you & your family Sue. Beth B x x x x x

ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Sue, so pretty and really femine and pretty. Your papers are so pretty and just what we really need to make our cards that touch special. I love your little pearl drop swirls, they just add that touch to finish your card nicely off. Thank you Sue for a beautiful card from start to finish.
From a beautiful day here up in Central Scotland i hope that you are all getting a day to equal it. Tracey flower enjoy your new bathroom when it goes in but what a pity you got rid of the outside cluggie, lol. Seriously flower i hope that it turns out to be the spa haven that you hope for. I miss a bath having only the shower in but i couldn't get in or out of it anyway so hey ho the shower is the best solution along with my seat as i'm quite good at the slipping lark and ending up with a doozy of a bruise or cut or both.
I've got on like a house on fire this morning with the dishwasher packed, washed, dried and put away, kitchen cleaned, the washing filling the ropes and the last load on, son fed, messages ordered and now sitting having a coffee before i start again with the hoover and duster and polish so i will say bye for now sending hugs along with my thoughts and prayers to Tina and family, hugs to Tracey don't do too much flower as you are just getting back your strength and anyone else that needs them
love and crafty hugs

This is a very lovely card Sue, I do love it! What I would love to know is how do you choose which dies and/or embossing folders to use? I only have a small quantity of your dies and embossing folders by comparison and I have such trouble trying to decide which to use, how do you, with every die and embossing folder to hand, make up your mind? I used to be so decisive, now I just dither. :) I must take several times more time choosing what to use than I do making the card.

The sun is shining down here in Truro, the sky is a brilliant shade of blue...but...it's too cold to go outside and enjoy it!! Looks like I'll have to find something to do inside again...what a chore (she says heading off to the craft room)
Happy Monday everyone.

ReplyDeleteThe guys are here today to put up my new rooflines and I am so pleased it is dry and sunny. It seems that they were hardly here when they stopped for lunch lol it is supposed to be a one day job but I think it will take two. At least they are outside and not indoors like Tracy's bathroom people so with the housework done I can sit in peace in the craftroom and not have too much noise or dust to distract me. Very brief comment today. As I type this I am on hold to the lovely council tax people. So far I have been on hold for 43 minutes. They have taken too much money from my account - not happy.
Need to cut this short and concentrate on not losing my temper when they eventually answer!
Lots of love to everyone.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I absolutely love everything about this card. It looks as though I will have to put the Melbourne die and the beaded swirl die on my wish list along with the paper pad and Phil's sentiment stamps. It will have to wait until payday though I am afraid.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
Lovely, Lovely, Lovely....
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteStunning! Your new paper pad is an absolute triumph Sue and a must have in our crafting arsenal....though I do admit to keeping pretty papers for the sole purpose of gazing at and stroking so whether they ever got used is anyone's guess:-) I love the new Australian collection, and the Melbourne die in particular so I'm really pleased to see you using them today, it makes for a beautiful focal point. I tried in vain to get the beaded flourish a couple of weeks ago so it sits at the top of my wish list. The composition of today's card is second to none, I will be 'borrowing' it for future reference. Nice to see the dazzlers make an appearance too. Thankyou for doing the impossible and sparking my creative juicesxxx
Having a quiet day just pottering around, decided to sort out my spectrum noir pencils by number and colour with the intention of actually using them...I've had them about a year and they remain untouched, I feel so guilty and really need to get my bum in gear:-)
I also prepped my sparkle pens....lots of shaking ensued, a bit of repetitive strain to be honest but the effects were well worth it.
I've spent the afternoon watching you tube tutorials of Leanne demonstrating how to colour with Spectrum Noir, I'm a real perfectionist and don't want to make a mess of my attempts at colouring. It takes me back to my art class days, I got a B grade in my Higher exam...A level equivalent....and I thought about doing fashion design but I'm now so rusty I need a good old glue of oil to lubricate me again:-)
Beth, it's so good to have you back, poor Mr B though, that's a long time to go without, he must have been quite faint:-( and there you go teasing him with offers of hot tea, tsk, tsk! Hope his test is favourable though, my Mum had high cholesterol too but the meds have it under control now. Mine was up at 8.5 last year...it must be all that cheesecake and chocolate:-)
Yvonne, I do hope the council haven't taken too much of your money, Sues shows aren't too far away now and you'll need as much cash as you can for that:-( it's so hard getting through to any agency now and quite often you have automated commands where they can't quite grasp a regional accent. BT are the worst, it's so hard when the call centres are abroad and neither of you can understand each other, I give up! Hope it all got resolved for you, they are quick to take and notoriously slow to refundxxxx
Tracy, good luck with your bathroom, I'm sure it'll be worth all the dust and mess when it's finished:-)
P, hugs to Bernard and Russell, wish we could show pictures on here of our fur babies.....
Wheely Bad, I'm a little jealous of your new wheels:-), wouldn't it be great if Ferrari branched out into mobility scooters.....
Cuddles to Linda, Pam, Lorraine, Rebecca, Maria, Theresa, deb c and melodyxxxxx Hugs to all who need themxxxx

Very pretty card Sue.
ReplyDeleteFunny old day today mood wise so it's not by great. Not helped by going paperwork to find one thing and ended up with a big pile that needs shredding. I am trying to get the place tidier...
Had also planned to craft but that was scuppered, will try again tomorrow. Otherwise it seems so silly to have so many lovely craft products and to still want more. Feeling down because I would love to go to Ally Pally to meet our wonderful Sue and maybe some Wilsonettes but know I could not cope with the travel. It's so hard to come to terms with.
Sorry don't mean to moan.
Love n hugs to all my friends and those in need.
Wishing good things to all xxx
Such a pretty card Sue. Anyone receiving this card would feel better. It is so cheerful. I love the flourishes and that Melborne die is perfect! I've gotten away from using prints but now I want that paper! I love those new background papers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. The new papers look so pretty and the beaded swirl flourishes are gorgeous with the addition of the pearls.
ReplyDeleteTake care everyone.
