Belted Petticoat

Hi bloggers!  A pretty petticoat card is the perfect reason to show off the Delicate Filigree Buckle Bar, don't you think! LOL   Today's video shows you how to create this pretty card design.

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

I giggled at your opening comment yesterday but refrained from mentioning it.
Daily hugs to all including Sue, Melody , Francis, Molly, Laine and Tracey.
I have to agree with Laine, Create and Craft have turned into the Tattered Lace forum followed by Hunkydory. There is now no variety and very little pleasure.

  25. Greetings on St David's Day, Sue, this is much celebrated by the primary school children - all in Welsh national dress and then picture in the paper!
Pretty card, very frou-frou, lovely colour choice. Thanks as ever for video.
Laine - yes, C&C - who will be left? However, H have hiked their P&P to such an extent that you're foolish not to join the Freedom club - a bit naughty of them really, after the £2.99 start + £1 for other items.
Tracy - special wishes for you today - last of the chemo!! Mr 'P' has his cancer check today, not expecting any nasty surprises! 2 years down the line, now, and still standing.

Very pretty and feminine card today. I love the colour scheme and the filigree buckle die is beautiful.
I agree with the comments about C&C I got fed up with all the Tattered Lace, Tonic and Hunkydory products being rammed down our throats! I was interested to see that Crafters Companion have now jumped ship too. I wonder if any more of the presenters will join Hochanda, which I have to say is improving all of the time. Shame about the P&P though.
Scamp is continuing to make improvement, although the little tinker had me up at 4.30 this morning crying! I think she was either cold or just wanted a cuddle!! As I type this, she is sound asleep snoring her head off!
Hope everyone is ok especially Tracy ( final day!) , Melody, Francis, Laine and Wheely xx

  84. Hi, Sue,
What a beautiful card today. The petticoat looks just like layers of lace, very delicate and very pretty.
Today as my mojo is still in hibernation, I decided that I would take some time and print out a load of backing papers. I was busy choosing which ones to print and just let the printer do its work...then when I went to look at the results I realised that my printer was set on GREYSCALE!!! Did you all hear the scream of frustration where you are lol. I'm now printing them all again from scratch...what fun!! I'm sure I can use some grey and white boats and seagulls somewhere lol.

  87. Hi Sue, a very frilly card today, I love the colours and I *must* get the buckle bar die.

Bejay - why not use your greyscale prints for inserts, it all adds interest to the card.

Happy St David's Day to all Welsh Wilsonettes. I do love to see the children (and adults) in their national dress. Many moons ago I had a small doll dressed in Welsh costume and I loved her.

Re C&C and Hochanda. I am not happy with the exodus of all my favourite companies to Hochanda but I will not purchase from them as I refuse to be badgered into joining the Freedom club just to get free postage and the discounts are not always that great either. I can't afford to buy or don't necessarily want to buy something every month so it would be a waste of money and I am better off buying from someone like JS and a couple of other internet sites that have free postage. This doesn't stop me from watching the programmes though! Rant over, sorry.

  88. Loved seeing the buckle die and how to use it...I've been a little confused about them. I also like how you wrapped it around to the back of the card vs. having a raw edge on the front of the card. And, of course, I adore the lace-like look...I have this die, thanks to your generosity. 123. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Fabulous video Sue, I really enjoyed it! They are always jam packed with hints and techniques that even the most cerebrally challenged amongst us can follow:-)
I loved the petticoat effect with the Corvus die, along with the buckle bar to disguise the join- I would love both these dies but it's not always easy to source your most popular dies, both were sold out when I checked last week which was a pity because this card would have been ideal for Mothers Day. I'll put it in my special folder to try later when I have the sought after dies.
It's been a sombre day, my Dad's funeral was this morning......a sad affair , the end of a chapter but a relief to finally say goodbye after waiting so long for it to be organised.
I've had to cancel my Cardmaking session with Gill because my manicure that was cancelled last week has been rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon instead...I really needed the motivation to get my Mothers Day card done so I have decided to try again on Thursday- gill is popping over then with her stuff but she only has a couple of hours which isn't really enough time to do a Sue special with bows, pins and flowers so I will just have to point her in the right direction. Am I the only one who needs a good few hours to create a special card? I don't think of myself as slow per say, just meticulous with details:-)
I concur, the p&p charges through Hochanda are steep and it's hard to justify the Freedom club membership just to save on occasional purchases. C&C did offer better savings as a club member and the prices seemed more reasonable but something is wrong when you lose your best brands and presenters to a new rival. My hope is that Hochanda listen to the constructive critisism and change their postage policy, plus it wouldn't do any harm if they offered better discounts that can compete with other online outlets. At the moment I am just pleased to get access to Sue and her products/demos again.
Tracy, congrats on finishing your chemo today, hope you feel okay and manage to enjoy your birthdayxxxx
Alison, I totally sympathise with you over your sleepless night with Scamp, Darcey has her moments....curiously when it's a full moon....when she persistently cries and scratches for attention during the night, whilst I love her dearly she does try the patience of a saint at times. However, I can't get angry with her because she'll purr at me and cuddle me in appreciation when I get up again and again and again:-)
Yvonne and Wheely, hope you are both feeling a bit better, being under the weather is a real bummer and you've both had your fair share lately.Sending healing hugsxxxx
    Lorraine, hope you're okay tooxxxx
Hugs to P, Pam, Maria, Linda,Rebecca, Jan, Melody, Saba, Beth, deb c and Theresa , plus anyone needing some comforting cuddlesxxxx

  137. Hi Sue

I love your petticoat cards, I adore lace and this style of card has that effect for me, the buckle on top make it look like a belt and would be an ideal base for using stamps on a Sewing theme. I love the new papers used as a background and the flowers cut from them to match. Papers are a great idea, nice for those who don't have an A4 machine to be able to access your embossing folder designs for their larger card... A nice touch that not all companies/ designers consider. Can see from the comments already that it will be a big hit.

Ahhh, the great craft channel discussion. I was as surprised as anyone to see recent developments. I think the market for craft items is levelling now, there is so much out there and most of us, I imagine, have one or two favourite brands and cherry pick what we like best of the rest, the odd stamp set from here, a die from there, a kit every now and again, a paper pad we just fall in love with etc etc. Now if there is a show on any channel I want to see I record it and forward to the demo. Bar a few presenters that are entertaining most just annoy the hell out of me. I buy online from whoever has the best combination of price + P&P, yes it's extra work sometimes but hey ho. Both channels have things I don't like and do like but Hochandas membership and pricing is a big issue for me so they won't be getting much out of me at all.

Tracy, bet today was an emotional one, hope you recover from the effects soon, that the scan you had was ok and send you a big hug x

Alison, glad Scamp is on the mend, big hugs x

Lynda, big hugs from both of us x

    Theresa W, big hugs x

    Laine, big hugs x

Steph, glad you had your best ever market on Sunday, it's a lot of work making to sell and I admire you for it,hope you enjoyed your shopping spree, big hugs x

Sorry I've been intermittent but in order to get essential things done then all screen time is limited in between migraines. I think I found a doctor that can help with the complications of my condition added to what is causing said migraines. Got to find out if they are still at that hospital and what the waiting list is like in order to plan my next move.

Its starting again so i need my meds and go back to bed. Sending everyone happy thoughts, smiles and hugs. I'm still good at hugs regardless so take all the hugs you need, I look forward to seeing you all again very, very soon,

Must try the petticoat style as not had a go at that yet but you've inspired me to try it.
