Norah - Esther Williams the Second! (Look it up.) I once got a bronze certificate for swimming a whole WIDTH - but needed hauling out as legs had turned to lead. Never swam again either on or under water - horrors. Hope you do better.

    1. Hi Pat.
I'm not sure if I can actually advertise the craft shop (s) in Yorkshire but if you pop in the browser craft shops in Yorkshire it will come up with the name. You won't miss it as they have branches in Halifax/Leeds/Huddersfield and Skipton the 19th and 20th letters of the alphabet lol once you see the name all will be obvious but if it's Lancashire you are visiting let me know as I have a craft store I know of that also sells Sue's dies. Hope my cryptic message has been of some help xx

Norah - good luck with the swimming. I am a firm believer in everyone learning to swim, not only is it the best exercise possible it could save your life one day! Norah, well done! Just remember it's impossible to sink unless you panic! I almost drowned when I was about 8 in the Lake District and had to be rescued . I understandably had a fear of water after that! When I started grammar school, we were lucky to have a pool and the PE teacher pushed me into the shallow end! It was the best thing she could have done for me as I learned to love swimming after that! Not sure I would recommend the remedy to everyone mind you!!!
Had a traumatic start to today. Scamp ( the cat & my little baby!) had an accident this morning. She tried to jump up onto a stool with a pillow resting against it and the pillow slipped and she fell backwards and landed on her back. Let out a God awful noise and hid behind the bed. Eventually we managed to get her and give her a cuddle to calm her down. When I put her on the bed to walk she couldn't, more of a sliver, but she panicked and tried to run downstairs which she rolled down. Anyway rushed her to vets and she's had X-rays etc and has a little fracture at the top of her hip and has also pulled one of her claws out ( ouch!) . Because of where the fracture is, they can't plaster it so she has to have strict restriction of movement for 10- 12 weeks. They recommend a cage like you get for dogs, but going to talk that through with the vet when we go to pick her up this afternoon. Also got anti inflammatories so that will be fun trying to get those down her. Still things could've been a lot worse. Now off to check the insurance details!
Love and hugs to all, Alison xxx

  115. A stunner of a card today. This Striplet Window Lattice die set is one of my favorites this year. I just attempted my first box, i.e. John Next Door's box, using this die. I had to do a four sided box due to the USA sized card stock. You make it look so easy lining up those dies side by side and top to bottom. Just got in your Orange Blossom flower die and leaves set to decorate my box. My friend, who I am making the box for, is going to love it. I am considering placing one of those battery tea lights inside to illuminate the box design. Thanks for the video. I appeciate you reminding us crafters we can cut the die cut designs down in size to fit our cards. I especially need to do this for I make smaller cards in the US. I keep forgetting to do this. Wishing you a peaceful and wonderful weekend.

  128. Evening dear Sue.
What an adorable sample, with the adorable striplet die, this was just one of the dies Andy bought me for Valentine's day, so I shall very much look forward to using it soon I think it has to be in my list of fav striplet does at the moment. Boy Sue, that tape was being stubborn, what patience you have, all you would have heard from me would have been "tut" after tut after tut lol oh well better than turning the air blue I suppose !!
I will end my comment by sending you comforting hugs dear friend.
    xx

  131. Hi Sue

I love, love, love this die, and thee card is just amazing. I love my striplet to bits as they are so versatile. I hope you're doing OK Sue, been thinking of you every day, big hugs xxx

CraftySueToo, you are a very lucky lass, your OH sounds very considerate indeed! Enjoy your trip, hugs x

Norah, swimming is a great thing to learn. Once you learn the proper technique it just clicks and you're away. Enjoy the challenge! Hugs x

Alison(mecca), oh poor Scamp! You must have been beside yourself with worry, pets need so much more watching when they're injured as they don't understand athe whole "rest" thing (Billy has had many bad cuts on his paws and legs over the years as we have heavy clay soil that's full of flints that can be very sharp so I've had a lot of practice. Touch wood his last one was over 2 years ago). Give her a gentle cuddle from me and hugs for you x

Molly, Melody and family, thinking of you all as ever. Hugs x

Tracy, hope you're OK. Counting down to a chemo free birthday for you, hugs x

Theresa W, Jan from Long Island and Lynda, Thank you for thinking of me, big hugs to all of you and Billy sends extra cuddles to Lynda! XXX

The brace is helping to a certain extent. I need to create some padding for it as it digs into my chest. It has prevented a full blown attack a couple of times but in my haste to get used to it I have worn it too long too quick and my upper back and shoulders feel very very sore as it changes my posture dramatically. It was a cheap one of its type to see if I could cope with it so should I get used to it I'd buy a more expensive one with better padding. It won't stop the reason it happens but for the time being I have to keep recording what works when, what doesn't work and when then take that and some literature from the support association for my condition to my GP who will hopefully refer me on. In the meantime I just have to try to be careful I don't move wrong if I don't have a brace on, hair washing and brushing is very precarious!

With that I have to go. Hugs to everyone, plenty extra for those who need an extra hug or two, have a lovely evening,

    T x

  134. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

This has to be one of my favourite striplets...and one I haven't adopted yet:-(....it reminds me of a stained glass window in a church and has an elegance that is hard to beat. The soft blue background really accentuates the detailing of the die and provides a stunning backdrop to the focal element on the card. This card has inspired me to splash out on this die, you have created some lovely designs using it, it is so versatile. Had a busy day so will have to catch up with the demo later on.
Spent the afternoon at a well intentioned friends house who was trying to take my mind off this past dreadful week, I managed to put on a smile and joke around a bit but it isn't coming naturally at the moment and feels quite a strain if I'm honest....maybe I'm just having a wobbly but they do say it comes in waves....it made me think of dearest Sue and her recent loss, I hope that you are coping and each day is a little easier than the last, these things take time to heal I guess.....
Feeling much brighter now though, having my little fur baby Darcey curled next to me always makes me fill up with happiness and contentment, they are so precious and special.
Alison, poor little Scamp, what a dreadful accident! I once fractured my hip and can appreciate the discomfort your little angel must be in- half the battle with be keeping her in a cage for such a long time but it's for her own good I guess. It breaks your heart when they are injured, I really feel for you honey but you're so right to focus on the fact that at least she will make a full recovery....thank goodness for the insurance though!
Norah, I am with you all the way girl, I detest water! I have tried on numerous occasions to learn to swim...my mums best friend is a swim instructor!....But failed at every turn. So I'm really proud of you giving it another go, well done you. Unfortunately though, I'm now having flashbacks to when I was pushed backwards into a lake at an adventure park in my teens:-(
Theresa w, Thankyou for your kind comments, it really made my day! This blog is a wonderful place and the people, like yourself, are so caring and generousxxx
Jan, I'm glad you didn't think my joke was in bad taste, I always find that looking for the humour in a situation helps you deal with adversity in the long run, I'm a glass half full kind of gal in that respect....you're amazing too my lovelyxxxx
Lorraine, hope your appointment went as well as could be expectedxxx
Yvonne, I trust that flu/ hangover is passing now, I've little sympathy for you, you should know better at your age:-) Being the more senior member of our duo you should be setting me a better example! Has Jake been caught rifling through your wardrobe yet?...it's only a matter of time! Have you managed to scrub off that orange face paint yet?....pity you don't live further east in Essex, you would have blended in quite nicely, ever fancied a vagazzle?:-)
Cuddles to Wheely Bad, Maria, Beth, deb c, Linda, Theresa,Melody, Rebecca , Tracy and anyone under the weather at the minutexxx

    Love and crafty hugs
